## Problem Splits of large tenants (several TB) can cause a huge amount of shard ancestor compaction work, which can overload Pageservers. Touches https://github.com/neondatabase/cloud/issues/22532. ## Summary of changes Add a setting `compaction_shard_ancestor` (default `true`) to disable shard ancestor compaction on a per-tenant basis.
