Current Kotlin LSP releases launch with bin/intellij-server; the
kotlin-lsp.sh / kotlin-lsp.cmd wrappers the installer picked now print a
deprecation warning and are announced to go away, which would leave a
fresh install without a server. The installer prefers the launcher and
still finds the wrappers in older releases.
java-usages, kotlin-bridge and the patched Lombok agent are JDT LS bundles and a Java agent embedded into the app, not OpenIDEA plugins. Move them to java/ so plugins/ holds only plugins, and update the paths that embed or mention them.
Also fix the stale build path in the hello fixture and the contributor guide's layout (there is no templates/ directory; starter templates live in the openidea-plugin CLI).
Schannel curl fails every download with CRYPT_E_REVOCATION_OFFLINE when the CRL/OCSP servers cannot be reached (corporate proxies, firewalls, some regions), although the certificate is valid, so jdtls and other tools could not be installed. On Windows, pass --ssl-revoke-best-effort when `curl --version` reports 7.70+ with Schannel as the active TLS backend: the check is skipped only when the revocation server is offline, and actually revoked certificates are still rejected. Older curl, which rejects the option, is left as is. Fixes#801.

Python puts the working directory first on sys.path for -c / -m. venv creation, pip (list/install/uninstall), the library-path probe and the IDE-managed Python tool probes and installs inherited the IDE's own working directory, so a project's typing.py / logging.py there broke them ("partially initialized module 'typing'"). venv creation now runs python -I; pip, the library probe and the tool commands run in an empty private directory (keeping pip install --user packages visible), and relative requirements (., ./pkg, .[dev]) resolve against the project root. The window-label part of the original change already landed in #960.

JDT LS 1.63's ECJ 3.46.200 keeps a constructor's super()/this() call as the first of its statements. Lombok 1.18.48 wrapped that call in the @SneakyThrows try block (ECJ internal error, whole workspace build failed), emitted @NonNull checks before it, and generated constructors without it.
The bundled agent is now 1.18.48-openidea.2: v1.18.48 with lombok#4059 and the upstream constructor-call fix lombok#4089. The new file name gives JDT LS a new workspace, so classes from the previous agent are rebuilt.

Pyrefly (`pyrefly lsp`) joins basedpyright, Pyright and ty as a fallback Python language server. It is installable from Tools as a managed virtualenv tool and is listed among the interchangeable type checkers, before Ruff, so Ruff still runs after them.
Pyrefly only reports type errors in projects with a Pyrefly configuration (`pyrefly.toml` or `[tool.pyrefly]`); hover, completion and navigation work without one. A real-server test (ignored by default, needs `pyrefly` on PATH) covers startup, go-to-definition and diagnostics.

Tools and the install log named "pip (virtualenv)" for Python language servers (basedpyright, Pyright, ty, Ruff) even when the virtualenv is made with uv, which `install_venv` prefers whenever uv is on `PATH`.
The label now comes from the installer that will actually run: "uv (virtualenv)" when uv is on `PATH`, unchanged otherwise. debugpy's private copy still says pip, since it is always installed with `python -m pip`.

In projects configured for Ruff (ruff.toml, .ruff.toml, or pyproject.toml with a [tool.ruff] table), ruff server runs next to basedpyright as a managed pip tool: its lint diagnostics, Reformat Code / format on save, Optimize Imports and Code Cleanup's fix-all. It is listed after the type checkers, so hover, navigation and rename stay with them; projects without a Ruff configuration never start or install it. Root markers accept file#table to require a TOML table, and a hand-defined server named ruff now only overrides how the built-in one launches. Verified with the real-servers end-to-end test against ruff and basedpyright.

Five crates (tools, build, vcs, github, docker) each carried their own copy of killing a child and what it started, and only the tools installer killed the whole tree on Windows, so cancelling git, gh, docker or Maven/Gradle there left descendants running. ide-core now provides own_group, kill_tree and terminate_tree (process-group signals on Unix, taskkill /T /F on Windows) and the copies are removed. Unix behaviour is unchanged; the Windows path was not run locally.

The managed runtime for the Java language server was a Temurin JRE, which lacks jdk.jdi. java-debug runs inside the jdtls JVM, so Debug failed with NoClassDefFoundError com/sun/jdi/VMDisconnectedException and "debug adapter did not answer initialize in time" while Run worked. Provision a full JDK instead and replace an already-downloaded JRE runtime (Temurin's JRE lists jdk.jdi in release MODULES although the image omits it, so suitability checks IMAGE_TYPE, javac and the modules); auto-picked installed runtimes must also carry jdk.compiler, jdk.jdi and jdk.unsupported, and a user-chosen language-server JDK without them gets a clear warning. Below an oxfmt configuration (.oxfmtrc.json/.jsonc, oxfmt.config.ts/.mts) Reformat Code runs oxfmt instead of Prettier, with the same external-formatter settings; oxfmt formats whole files, so a selection formats the file with a notice. oxlint --lsp serves JS/TS/React/Vue/Svelte files below an oxlint config. Both are managed npm tools; a missing oxfmt gets the same Install prompt and error handling as Prettier, and formatter messages are translated for either tool.

Reformat Code only asked the language server for formatting, so files whose server has no formatting capability (Markdown with marksman, and others depending on the server) could not be formatted.
Languages can now declare an external formatter. Prettier is the first: a managed tool installed on demand, or the project's own node_modules/prettier, an explicit path, or PATH. It runs on the backend copy of the document with the file's path so Prettier resolves the project's config, overrides and ignore files, and its result is applied as one undoable edit. Language servers that format a file keep doing so unless Prettier is preferred in Settings › Languages › Prettier; formatting on save is opt-in. Parsers without range support format the whole file and say so.
Errors carry structured tool data, so a missing Prettier reuses the shared install prompt and Prettier diagnostics or timeouts show as non-sticky notifications.
Fixes#639
lombok.config was ignored in Java builds (e.g. lombok.accessors.chain=true produced void setters), and jdt.ls wrote those classes into target/classes, breaking later Maven builds.
Root cause: Lombok calls getModuleClassLoader(boolean), which newer Equinox removed; the exception is swallowed, Lombok resolves the wrong source path and finds no lombok.config at all, so every config key falls back to its default. Affects every Java project using lombok.config.
Fix: ship Lombok 1.18.48 with the upstream fix projectlombok/lombok#4059 (lombok-1.18.48-openidea.1, embedded in the app, no download) as the jdt.ls agent; the versioned path also resets the jdt.ls workspace so stale output is rebuilt. A user-configured agent still takes precedence. Return to Maven Central once an official release includes the fix (source and checksum in plugins/lombok/README.md).
Verified on macOS: 5 clean builds with chained setters, identical output to official 1.18.48 without lombok.config, the app rebuilds already-poisoned target/classes, and Run works. Windows and Linux not run.

* fix: select native ARM64 tools before Windows x64 fallback
* build: register verified ARM64 updater bundles and remove verification workflow
* fix(agent): prefer npx and uvx over emulated x64 binaries on Windows ARM64
* fix(tools): include the Windows user PATH agents and tools are resolved on
On Windows the login-shell environment is never read (it is a Unix-only path),
so a process started before the user PATH was edited — or one that simply does
not inherit it — resolves agent executables and language-server tools on the
machine PATH alone. A tool installed for the user (npm -g, \dotnet tool
install -g\, a vendor installer) is then reported as not on PATH.
Read the user's own PATH from HKCU\\Environment (expanding REG_EXPAND_SZ
entries) and append its directories after the inherited ones in both the tool
search path and the native agent lookup, so user installs resolve without
shadowing the inherited order.
Fixes#330.
* fix(tools): use div_ceil for the registry buffer size
* fix(tools): add the Windows user PATH to the process PATH at startup
Lookups alone left agents reported as not installed, and programs started from
user PATH entries could not find their own dependencies.

* fix(tools): install rust-analyzer without rustup
* fix(tools): reinstall a managed rust-analyzer with the installer that made it
Once rustup appeared, Reinstall ran rustup while the Open VSX copy stayed in use.
Settings opens in its own window with its own state, so reinstalling a tool from a reopened Settings while an earlier install was still running failed with 'already being installed' and showed no progress or Cancel. A second request for the same tool now joins the running install: it receives its live log and result, and cancelling from either request stops it. JDK downloads and uninstalls keep failing fast when busy.

Kotlin line breakpoints never verified through java-debug because jdtls cannot resolve classes for .kt files. Kotlin Application configurations and JDWP attach for modules with Kotlin sources now use the official Kotlin Debug Adapter (installable from the debugger prompt, running on the language-server JDK); pure Java keeps java-debug.
The adapter resolves classes from source paths, so sources whose directories don't match their package are mirrored package-aligned outside the project (symlinks, copies where links fail) and paths are mapped back for breakpoints and stack frames; files that can't be mirrored are skipped rather than failing the session. Kotlin applications start with JDWP suspend=y and a session-owned JDWP relay holds the adapter's early resume until attach completes, so breakpoints are installed before the program runs.
Limitations (docs/kotlin-debugging.md): @file:JvmName facades are not resolved; package/source-root changes need a new session. Not verified on a real Windows machine.

Recent Eclipse JDT LS releases need Java 25 to run, so projects on JDK 21 had no Java language support until the user downloaded a newer JDK by hand. When JDT LS is about to start, no installed JDK is new enough, and no language-server JDK is set explicitly, the IDE now downloads the Temurin JRE of the required version (about 50 MB, falling back to the JDK image where no JRE build exists) with a cancellable background task, then starts the server on it. The runtime lives in its own folder under the app data directory, outside the roots scanned for project JDKs, so the project JDK, run configurations and JDT LS's project runtimes are unchanged. One download runs at a time across windows and is reused; a failed attempt falls back to the existing manual Download JDK action and is not retried until the next start.

Zip symlink entries were only validated on Unix: on Windows they fell through to the regular-file path, so a link escaping the destination was written as a file instead of being rejected (and the escape test failed on Windows CI). The symlink branch now validates on every platform; Unix creates the in-archive link, while Windows skips it, since creating symlinks needs a privilege most users lack.

The Angular language server (ngserver) was not found when Node and global npm packages came from a version manager (nvm, fnm, volta, asdf, mise) whose bin directories are not on the GUI app's PATH. Tool lookup now searches those directories too through a shared ide-core tool_path module used by the LSP launcher, SDK queries and tool detection; explicit relative commands resolve against the project root, empty PATH entries are ignored, and a non-executable file earlier on PATH no longer shadows the real command.
The process query test that flaked under load now uses a generous deadline for the success case, with the timeout covered by a separate test of a child that never exits.

cargo deny check now passes, with a deny.toml at the repository root (advisories, licenses, bans, sources).
- zip 2.4.2 → 9 as one workspace dependency (RUSTSEC-2026-0367/0368/0369). Our own extraction is hardened too: tar/zip entries cannot escape the destination, symlinks are allowed only when they resolve inside it, entries cannot traverse a symlink, and setuid/setgid/sticky bits are dropped (also after system tar).
- tiberius 0.12 → 0.13 with rustls 0.23, which brings the fixed rustls / rustls-webpki (RUSTSEC-2026-0098/0099/0104/0346/0349/0382/0383). The bb8-tiberius adapter is replaced by a small bb8 connection manager in ide-db that keeps its single-redirect handling.
- crypto-bigint / ctutils updated (RUSTSEC-2026-0385/0387).
- rsa RUSTSEC-2023-0071 (no fixed release) is ignored with its reason: RSA is used only for MySQL password encryption and SSH signatures, never to decrypt attacker-controlled ciphertext.
- Unmaintained transitive crates (paste, proc-macro-error, rustls-pemfile, zbus/zvariant) remain warnings. MPL-2.0 is allowed (file-level copyleft, dependencies used unmodified).

A language server and the fallback servers after it in languages/*.toml now share one picker in the Language Servers details pane, for every language rather than Python only: Language server for <languages>: Automatic, each server (with its status) or None, with the Automatic order in the hint. Servers outside such a group keep their on/off checkbox. ToolInfo.alternatives lists each server's group in preference order; a regular server after a fallback starts no group with it. The Python-only picker at the top of the page is removed, and names drop a language suffix the label already states. Storage is unchanged (each server's enabled flag, global or project scope), so existing settings carry over.
On Chinese Windows the Maven tool window showed sync errors as mojibake: tool output was decoded as UTF-8, but while JVMs are told to write UTF-8, cmd.exe, batch launchers (mvn.cmd, gradlew.bat) and native tools write their diagnostics in the ANSI code page (GBK). ide_core::output_encoding::decode_tool_output keeps valid UTF-8 and decodes other lines in the system code page (GetACP). It is used wherever OpenIDEA shows output of tools it launches itself: Maven/Gradle sync and tasks, tool installers, SDK probes, Docker, coverage, environment setup, Cargo stderr for debugging, agent version probes and notebook kernel stderr. Run consoles and protocol streams keep their own encodings. 未在 Windows 实机验证。

* feat(settings): HTTP Proxy settings for the IDE's outgoing connections
Add Appearance & Behavior › System Settings › HTTP Proxy with three modes:
No proxy, Auto-detect proxy settings (the default; environment proxy as
before) and Manual proxy configuration (HTTP or SOCKS, host and port, a
comma-separated "No proxy for" list with `*` wildcards, optional proxy
authentication). "Check connection…" GETs a URL with the settings as edited
and reports the status or the error.
- ide-core: `ProxySettings` plus routing (no-proxy globs, loopback always
direct, credentials percent-encoded), the current proxy for the process,
curl arguments and child-process variables.
- ide-http: `client::build` / `client::shared` is the one HTTP client
constructor; the HTTP Client requests and the update check go through it.
- ide-tools: curl downloads (tools, JDKs, debug adapters, agent registry,
remote server) follow the setting.
- A manual proxy reaches child processes (language servers, debug adapters,
terminals, git) as HTTP_PROXY / HTTPS_PROXY / ALL_PROXY / NO_PROXY.
- The proxy password is kept in the owner-only saved passwords file
(`proxy-password.json` in the app data directory), not in settings.toml.

* fix(host): Allow the Unix-only post-start test helpers on Windows
Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com>
---------
Co-authored-by: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com>
The remote server read the login shell's PATH once and cached it, had no project-level environment, and changed environment variables only took effect after reinstalling or a manual restart.
- Every openidea-server start re-reads the remote login shell's full environment (`$SHELL -ilc env -0`), with the cached PATH only as a fallback when the shell doesn't answer.
- A project's `.devcontainer/devcontainer.json` (or `.devcontainer.json`) applies on remote hosts: `remoteEnv` (with `${localEnv|containerEnv|env:X[:default]}`, workspace variables and `null` to unset) reaches every child process through one environment overlay (terminals, run configurations, language servers, debuggers, build tools, git), and `postStartCommand` (string, array or parallel object) runs once per server start in the project root as a cancellable background task; a failure raises a notification with the exit code and the last output lines without blocking the project.
- Reload Environment (`remote.reloadEnvironment`, File menu and Find Action) re-resolves the login shell and `remoteEnv` without restarting the server, starting from the process's original environment so prepended PATH entries don't pile up; it lists the changed variables, notes that running processes keep their environment, and offers to restart language servers.
- The JSONC reader moves to `ide_core::jsonc` and is shared with ide-run.
Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01Dq6jQQn8ZhRfkkyj3PRutA
Background tasks often couldn't be cancelled, or cancelling didn't stop them:
- A cancel that arrived before the backend registered the request was dropped (build while saving files, multi-repository fetch/pull between repositories). The host now remembers early cancels (bounded, 2 min), and request ids start at a random value per page.
- There was no queue and no common cancel path: backend-reported tasks (LSP progress, deployment transfers) couldn't be cancelled, and tool installs, VCS operations and update checks had no cancel button in Background Tasks.
- Only the direct child process was killed, and JDK / tool archives were extracted without checking for cancellation.
Tool installs and JDK downloads now share a downloads queue; cancelling a queued task removes it without starting any work. Every task cancels through one path that shows "Cancelling…" and then removes it; tasks that can't be interrupted show a disabled cancel button with the reason. IdeEvent::Task carries `cancellable` with a cancel_task command, cancellable LSP progress sends window/workDoneProgress/cancel, installers, curl and tar run in their own process group and are killed as a group, and extraction checks for cancellation between entries.

Agents can run through native drivers or any ACP agent, speak ACP v1 or v2, and be installed from the ACP Registry. Tasks gain fork, in-place edit-and-rerun, steering and usage-limit handling where the agent supports them.
- Native Claude Code (`claude` stream-json) and Codex (`codex app-server`) drivers, each served to the task machinery as an in-process ACP shim, using the newest install on PATH.
- ACP v2 with v1 fallback, negotiated on initialize; per-agent capabilities (fork, rollback, steer) so the UI only shows supported actions; usage-limit errors put the task in a `limited` status with the reset time.
- Settings › Tools › Agents lists Registry agents (featured first) to install, update and remove; installed agents update when a project opens. "More agents…" in the provider picker opens it. Registry index and downloads are HTTPS-only, release archives are checked against their sha256, and entries without one show "No checksum provided" and ask for confirmation before installing. Inside an AppImage, AppRun and the linuxdeploy GTK/GStreamer hooks point LD_LIBRARY_PATH, PATH, XDG_DATA_DIRS, GIO_MODULE_DIR, GTK_PATH, GST_PLUGIN_* … into the mounted image, and every child inherited them, so host programs loaded the image's older libraries (curl + bundled nghttp2 → symbol lookup error when installing Kotlin LSP). ide_core::process::prepare (formerly no_window) now gives children the host environment back: entries inside $APPDIR are dropped (a <NAME>_ORIG wins), emptied variables and the runtime's launch variables are removed, explicit call-site values are kept; the IDE process itself is unchanged. Root cause: the IDE only detected installed JDKs and had no way to get one, so any launch needing a newer JDK than the machine has (latest jdtls needs JDK 25) dead-ended in an error.
Fix: IDEA-style Download JDK (Eclipse Temurin via the Adoptium API, sha256-verified, reusing ide-tools' download/verify code; Windows zip, Linux tar.gz, macOS Contents/Home) into <app-data>/tools/jdks, registered with JDK discovery and rescanned after each download. "Download JDK…" in the Project SDK and Language Server JDK pickers; a one-click `java.downloadJdk` "Download JDK N" on "needs JDK N" errors, which also repoints a too-old language server JDK and restarts jdtls.
Siblings: language server status popup, jdtls launch notification, run console classpath error, debug launch, run configurations without a JDK ≥ the module's Java version, Maven/Gradle sync failures, single-file Java run without `java` on PATH.

Fix: pin TS-as-library servers to typescript@<7 and keep shared deps on uninstall; pick a usable tsdk (setting / bundled / project, --tsdk); bridge tsserver/request to vtsls with @vue/typescript-plugin (null when vtsls is absent); answer workspace/configuration for section ""; stop restarting after 3 consecutive early crashes (IDEA); crash summary starts at the exception line.

elixir-ls-debugger) was folded into the server's row and never listed;
it now gets a row of its own.

* fix(java): Run jdtls with a Lombok agent and show build errors at launch
jdtls compiles with ECJ, which only generates Lombok members when the
server JVM runs -javaagent:lombok.jar. Nothing put it there, so @Data /
@Setter classes lost their accessors and Run launched stale classes
with "Unresolved compilation problem" stubs and no explanation.
- Projects whose build files mention Lombok get the newest jar: the
IDE-managed one (new "Lombok (jdtls agent)" tool, latest release from
Maven Central), else ~/.m2 (incl. settings.xml localRepository) or the
Gradle cache. Each agent gets its own jdtls workspace so everything is
rebuilt with it.
- Settings › Languages & Frameworks › Java › JVM options
(java.jdt.ls.vmargs); a Lombok agent there wins.
- Run (and Debug, as a notification) list the first compile errors when
the build has errors, plus a hint when Lombok is missing or older than
1.18.34.
Fixes#3
* fix(java): Base the Lombok hint on the agent jdtls actually runs
A Lombok agent in Settings › Java › JVM options wins over the managed
and cached jars, but the launch hint still looked only at those: with
no cached jar it said Lombok was missing, and with an old cached one it
blamed that version although jdtls ran the user's. The hint and the
startup warning now use the user's agent (version from its file name).
