On macOS, with an editable element focused and an input method active, WebKit can deliver a tap as pointerup then pointerdown, so drag trackers saw every later pointermove as a held button: one tap plus a pointer move started a phantom drag (file drag label, tab detach, tool window move) and the next tap dropped it. A drag now starts only from a move with the primary button down, a move without it cancels the press, and late button-less moves after a drag started are ignored so the drop is kept. Resizers, dialog drag/resize, pan and the review gutter end instead; the Project view also listens for pointercancel.

Diff tabs, including the preview tab, get Maximize Editor / Restore Size in their toolbar (reusing Hide All Tool Windows). Show Diff from the Commit view or the Git log now carries the whole change list: F7 / Shift+F7 at the last or first difference shows a hint, and pressing again moves to the first or last difference of the neighbouring file, skipping binary, oversized and unreadable files. The layout is restored after a preview is replaced and keyboard focus stays in the diff across files. Compare branches stays single-file.

Conflicts left by stash pop or an automatic stash now get the same editor banner (File has unresolved merge conflicts, Resolve conflicts…) as merge conflicts. Complete conflict markers are reported as errors in every language and listed in Problems (severity under Settings › Editor › Inspections › Version Control). The toolbar shows Resolve/Continue and Abort next to the branch while conflicts or an interrupted operation exist, and the Commit view and Branches popup offer Resolve Conflicts even when no operation is in progress.

The result pane starts from the base and every change, conflicting or not, gets Accept / Ignore next to its side; accepting one side of a conflict still lets the other side be appended, and the modifier key resolves using that side directly. Adds Resolve Simple Conflicts (word-level), Apply Non-Conflicting Changes from the left, right or both (optionally on opening), Revert Conflict Resolution, Accept Yours / Accept Theirs / Cancel / Apply, Compare Contents between any two versions, and undo back to the conflicted state. CRLF and UTF-16 files are written back exactly, deleted sides and binary files are handled, and the commands are registered as merge.* actions.

Blocks that were moved unchanged, re-indented or moved and then edited are paired across the split diff: each side gets a link to the other (keyboard accessible), moved lines carry a left accent bar, edits inside a moved block get word-level highlights, and the toolbar counts moved blocks and whitespace-only changes. Staging and reverting still work on the original hunks.

The Terminal could only split panes inside one tab. Split Right / Split Down now create tab groups, each with its own tabs, + and ▾; tabs can be moved between groups by dragging or Split and Move Right/Down, Unsplit merges a group back, and closing a group's last tab focuses the neighbouring group. Split actions are registered as actions and appear in the tab context menu.

The overview lane lies over the vertical scrollbar, so a mark the height of the lane (a new file added to git is one green VCS mark) hid the native thumb completely. The lane now draws the thumb itself, above its marks and without taking the pointer, at the position of the native one (scrollbarThumb, inset by its 2px border); it switches to the hover color while the pointer is on the thumb. The native thumb is made transparent in editors that have the lane, so the two don't add up, and still takes the drag. Editors without the lane (notebook cells, previews) keep the native thumb.

Pasting an image, audio or video from the clipboard into a local terminal saves the bytes to the per-user terminal cache (20 MB limit, files older than 24 h cleaned up on the next paste, private permissions) and inserts the shell-quoted path without running anything. Copied files paste their original paths, plain text pastes unchanged, and SSH sessions keep the existing remote image-paste route. Paths are quoted per shell (zsh/bash, fish, PowerShell, cmd.exe); fish quoting now escapes backslashes and single quotes.

Root cause: Cmd/Ctrl+A in the Run console fell through to the browser and selected the whole window, and copying only saw the rows the virtualizer had mounted. Select All now selects the console only (also in its context menu), and copying after it — keyboard, context menu or native copy — takes the whole buffer. copySelectionOnKeyDown accepts a textOf callback for other views that do not mount all their text.

The overview lane lies over the vertical scrollbar and its marks take the pointer, so a mark under the thumb swallowed the press; a new or fully changed file is one lane-high mark, so its thumb could not be dragged at all. While the pointer is over the thumb (computed from the scroller's metrics and the 32px minimum thumb) the marks now let the pointer through; elsewhere clicking a mark still jumps to its line.

The console virtualizes its rows, so a selection that scrolled out of the rendered window lost its rows and copying returned only part of it. Selected rows (and, while dragging, the rows between anchor and pointer) now stay mounted, auto-follow pauses while selecting, and each row ends with a line break so multi-line copies keep their newlines. Covered by unit tests and Playwright selection tests.

Usage previews rendered the matched occurrence through tokenSpans, so the token colour rules outranked the inherited --fg-search-match and left syntax colours on the search-match background (about 1.1:1 in Islands Light). Render the match as plain text so it takes the search-match foreground; syntax colours stay on the surrounding code. Covered by unit tests and a Playwright contrast check across light, dark, high-contrast and mixed editor schemes.

Agent sessions can be opened in the Agents tool window beside the editor (Open in Tool Window / Open in Editor in the task menus, or by dragging between the editor and the tool window); opening in an editor tab stays the default.
Fixes in review:
- A docked conversation kept the previous task's subagent view after switching tasks: the session's local state is now keyed by task.
- Moving a conversation between the editor and the tool window lost its scroll position: position and follow-output are kept per conversation (task or subagent).
- In a short bottom tool window the message area shrank to a few pixels: wide windows place the task list beside the conversation, narrow ones cap the list height.
- Drag and drop and list selection now go through the agents.dockTask / undockTask / openTask actions.

The Project view kept its widest row only until the rows changed, so expanding an unrelated folder while the wide row was out of the virtual window shrank the scroll range and moved the view back to the left edge. Row widths are now kept by row key, and a width goes away only when its row is removed or collapsed, or is measured narrower.

Services followed configuration detection order, so frequently used services could not be kept together. Services can now be dragged before or after a sibling, with an insertion indicator and edge scrolling, or moved with Move Up/Down from the toolbar and context menu.
The order is stored per project location and type, separately from configuration definitions. New configurations append, windows stay in sync, and a failed save keeps the order for the session with a warning. Sorting in Tree is opt-in, so other trees are unchanged.

Compare With… was only in the Project view menu and needed the OS file dialog. The editor context menu (with Compare with Clipboard) and the editor tab menu now offer it too, and outside the desktop app (remote development, browser) a browser file picker supplies the file, compared as text.

Unversioned files and folders in the Commit tool window's changes menu offer Add to .gitignore / Add to .git/info/exclude, the same action as the Project view's Git submenu. vcs_add_to_ignore returns the ignore files it changed and the IDE opens the nearest one after writing. A selected symlink or Windows junction is ignored by name without a trailing slash; symlinked ancestors are still refused, and already-ignored paths are left unchanged.

The status-bar breadcrumbs, the code breadcrumbs and the closed Navigation Bar popup subscribed to the whole editor status, which is replaced on every keystroke and caret move, so ~30 crumb buttons re-rendered per key. They now select the symbol chain at the caret with a shallow comparison (re-rendering only when it changes), and the popup subscribes to the caret only while open. Typing 38 characters: 1386 → 152 component renders.

The font pickers (editor, fallback, UI, terminal) become editable comboboxes: type to search installed families or enter any family name, and Refresh re-reads the system fonts. ide-fonts' cached family list is now refreshable (DirectWrite re-queries the system collection with checkForUpdates; CoreText and fontconfig are read anew), exposed through system_font_families(refresh). Before the first native result the pickers fall back to Canvas detection of common families; saved names and the last catalog are kept when a refresh fails. Fonts are enumerated on the local desktop in remote-development windows too.

* feat(vcs): IDEA's diff algorithm and change colouring in the diff viewer
Port IntelliJ's text comparison to TypeScript (src/features/vcs/comparison):
Myers/patience LCS with unique-element discarding, ByLine (smart matching
that skips unimportant lines, chunk optimizer, second-step correction),
ByWord (word chunks, punctuation matching, whitespace policies, line block
splitting) and ComparisonManager's compareLinesInner / processBlocks. The
port runs IntelliJ's own LineComparisonUtilTest, WordComparisonUtilTest and
SplitComparisonUtilTest cases (459 runs), converted to ideaCases.json.
MergeView chunks now come straight from these line fragments, with the
inner word fragments as chunk changes, instead of @codemirror/merge's
presentable diff. Revert and >> / << replace lines as
DiffUtil.applyModification does.
Colour changes as IDEA does: modified (blue), inserted (green) and deleted
(grey) by chunk type, a lighter line background for chunks whose words were
compared, each word fragment in its own type at full line height, a thin
bar for a fragment empty on one side, and the colours carried into the
gutters and the divider bands. New --diff-modified / --diff-inserted /
--diff-deleted theme tokens, imported from .icls DIFF_* attributes.
Add a Playwright suite over a generated git repository of diff cases,
including 10,000-line files, in every viewer mode.

Adds Solarized Light, Solarized Dark, One Light and One Dark as built-in themes across the workbench, editor, terminal and Mermaid, keeping the original palettes (MIT notices in THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.md, mapping in docs/themes.md).
- Native window colours are read from tokens.css at build time (`theme_frame.rs`) instead of a second colour table.
- Startup restores the built-in palette before first paint.
- Editor schemes, the terminal and Mermaid refresh on switches between themes of the same kind.
- The plugin packages of the same themes are removed.
- A test requires every built-in palette theme to define each token (only listed ones may inherit from the base theme), so new tokens can't silently miss them.
