From f1189be850e57c529278fefdb4ab3d1fb0d500d5 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jinjing <6427696+AmethystLiang@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Thu, 22 Oct 2026 12:08:38 -0700 Subject: [PATCH] Offer Resolve with AI for paused merge, rebase, and cherry-pick (#28569) * Offer Resolve with AI for paused merge, rebase, and cherry-pick A paused operation can need recovery after every conflict is staged, but the Resolve with AI action only appeared when unmerged paths remained. The operation banner now offers it whenever AI actions are visible and an operation is in progress. Starting an AI conflict-resolution agent is also blocked while a Git operation is running. The composer, the banner and card buttons, and the agent launch itself check the running-operation state, so a launch that began during agent detection cannot start while Git is still running. * Block paused-operation recovery only on Orca's own Git work The previous gate scanned the host's process table and refused "Resolve with AI" whenever it could not prove no Git process was running. That refused recovery on older paired hosts, on Windows whenever any Git process ran anywhere on the machine, and while a paged `git reflog` or `git grep` was open in a terminal. - The host tracks Orca's own mutating Git commands per worktree (including ones still queued) and reports them through `git.mutationInFlight`. Reads and fetch/push/ls-remote are not tracked. - Recovery is refused only when the host reports that work. Older hosts without the method keep today's behavior. - The gate applies only to launches from the paused-operation banner and conflict card, not every resolveConflicts launch, so the Checks panel's PR-conflict flow is unchanged. - The agent prompt now tells the agent to stop if index.lock exists or another git command is running, which covers Git started outside Orca on every host. With no unmerged files, the prompt asks the agent to find why Git paused instead of listing zero conflicts. * Preserve Git mutation state until terminated commands exit - Cancel stale recovery checks and agent launches when their dialog or scope closes - Guide rebase recovery agents to amend fixes after failed exec steps * Cover failed rebase exec recovery with real Git * Recognize global Git options in worktree mutation tracking --- .../git-exec-admission-lifetime.test.ts | 56 ++++-- src/main/git/command-runner/git-exec-file.ts | 21 +- .../git/git-worktree-mutation-state.test.ts | 81 ++++++++ src/main/git/git-worktree-mutation-state.ts | 58 ++++++ .../git/paused-rebase-exec-real-git.test.ts | 64 ++++++ .../git/wsl-direct-git-read-commands.test.ts | 16 +- .../filesystem-git-status-handlers.ts | 19 ++ src/main/runtime/orca-runtime-git.ts | 2 + src/main/runtime/rpc/methods/git.ts | 6 + .../runtime/runtime-git-api-contract.test.ts | 1 + .../runtime/runtime-git-command-surface.ts | 2 + .../runtime/runtime-git-status-commands.ts | 20 +- src/preload/api/git-bridge.ts | 2 + src/preload/api/git-inspection-api.ts | 5 + .../right-sidebar/CommitArea.test.tsx | 29 ++- .../SourceControl.commit-drafts.test.ts | 28 +++ .../SourceControlAgentActionDialog.test.tsx | 117 ++++++++++- .../SourceControlAgentActionDialog.tsx | 3 + .../runSourceControlAgentActionStart.test.ts | 36 +++- .../runSourceControlAgentActionStart.ts | 20 +- ...rce-control-agent-action-dialog-support.ts | 28 +++ .../source-control-recovery-admission.test.ts | 59 ++++++ .../source-control-recovery-admission.ts | 38 ++++ ...e-control-too-many-changes-banner.test.tsx | 1 + .../ai/use-ai.operation-recovery.test.tsx | 188 ++++++++++++++++++ .../right-sidebar/source-control/ai/use-ai.ts | 46 ++--- .../ai/use-conflict-recovery-composer.ts | 106 ++++++++++ .../listing/conflict-status-cards.tsx | 70 ++++--- .../listing/content-status.test.tsx | 81 ++++++++ .../source-control/listing/content-status.tsx | 7 +- .../source-control/panel/dialog-layer.tsx | 3 + .../source-control/panel/panel-content.tsx | 2 + .../source-control/panel/panel-dialogs.tsx | 2 + .../useSourceControlAgentActionDialog.ts | 100 +++++----- .../useSourceControlAgentActionStart.ts | 98 +++++---- src/renderer/src/i18n/locales/en.json | 17 ++ ...time-git-mutation-in-flight-client.test.ts | 48 +++++ .../src/runtime/runtime-git-status-client.ts | 19 ++ .../src/web/preload-api/web-git-api.ts | 28 +-- .../src/web/preload-api/web-git-mutations.ts | 27 +++ src/shared/git-command-classification.ts | 15 +- src/shared/git-fetch-head-lock.ts | 24 +-- src/shared/git-mutation-in-flight.ts | 4 + .../rpc-params-catalog.generated.ts | 1 + src/shared/source-control-conflict-prompts.ts | 48 +++++ .../source-control-operation-recovery.spec.ts | 117 +++++++++++ 46 files changed, 1528 insertions(+), 235 deletions(-) create mode 100644 src/main/git/git-worktree-mutation-state.test.ts create mode 100644 src/main/git/git-worktree-mutation-state.ts create mode 100644 src/main/git/paused-rebase-exec-real-git.test.ts create mode 100644 src/renderer/src/components/right-sidebar/source-control-recovery-admission.test.ts create mode 100644 src/renderer/src/components/right-sidebar/source-control-recovery-admission.ts create mode 100644 src/renderer/src/components/right-sidebar/source-control/ai/use-ai.operation-recovery.test.tsx create mode 100644 src/renderer/src/components/right-sidebar/source-control/ai/use-conflict-recovery-composer.ts create mode 100644 src/renderer/src/components/right-sidebar/source-control/listing/content-status.test.tsx create mode 100644 src/renderer/src/runtime/runtime-git-mutation-in-flight-client.test.ts create mode 100644 src/renderer/src/web/preload-api/web-git-mutations.ts create mode 100644 src/shared/git-mutation-in-flight.ts create mode 100644 tests/e2e/source-control-operation-recovery.spec.ts diff --git a/src/main/git/command-runner/git-exec-admission-lifetime.test.ts b/src/main/git/command-runner/git-exec-admission-lifetime.test.ts index 3fe1605e888..3a2245e7816 100644 --- a/src/main/git/command-runner/git-exec-admission-lifetime.test.ts +++ b/src/main/git/command-runner/git-exec-admission-lifetime.test.ts @@ -49,6 +49,7 @@ vi.mock('../../../shared/git-fetch-head-lock', async (importOriginal) => { import { RuntimeRemoteFetchController } from '../../runtime/runtime-remote-fetch-controller' import { gitExecFileAsync, gitExecFileAsyncBuffer } from './git-exec-file' import { execFileCapture } from './exec-file-capture' +import { isGitWorktreeMutationInFlight } from '../git-worktree-mutation-state' import { acquireGitAdmission, GitAdmissionScheduler, @@ -144,22 +145,40 @@ describe('git exec admission lifetime', () => { } ) -
