feat(orcad): items 2–7 — degradation, natives, daemon, ops, deploy (#16398)
* fix(ports): stop joining an undefined resourcesPath on a non-Electron host `resolveWorkerEntryPath` branched on `isPackaged` alone and joined `process.resourcesPath`. orcad reports `isPackaged` true — correctly, it is a production build, and ~15 consumers read it that way to gate HTTPS-only skill downloads and the real CLI name — but `process.resourcesPath` is Electron-only and `undefined` under plain Node. So the packaged branch threw `TypeError [ERR_INVALID_ARG_TYPE]: The "path" argument must be of type string` where a clean "worker unavailable" was the honest outcome. The type said `resourcesPath: string`, which is how it went unnoticed; it is now `string | undefined`, so the compiler carries the fact. A host with no Electron resources tree has no asar to look in, so it falls back to the module directory and lets the caller report a missing worker. Found by the item 1 agent while auditing the same `isPackaged` defect class in the watcher. Verified in both directions: reverting the guard reproduces the TypeError. * feat(orcad): prove node-pty loads before anything requires it Of the two ways node-pty fails, only one is catchable. A missing module throws MODULE_NOT_FOUND. A module built against the wrong libc or Node ABI is refused by the dynamic loader, and in the worst case takes the process down before any handler exists — that is #9902, which crashed the desktop app on Ubuntu 20.04 before a window appeared. There was no libc or ABI precondition anywhere in the tree. So orcad now proves the load in a CHILD process, from main.ts, before anything requires node-pty. Whatever the child does — throw, abort, die on a signal — is data rather than our own death, and the operator gets a sentence naming the host's libc, Node ABI and prebuild slot plus the command to run. Proven-unloadable exits 78 (EX_CONFIG), so a supervisor does not restart an unequippable host forever. A probe that never answered is unverifiable, not blocked: refusing to boot on an inconclusive signal would take down hosts that work. The child dlopens the file node-pty would have chosen, before requiring the package. node-pty's loader walks several directories and rethrows only the LAST error, so a refused binary reads as "Cannot find module ./prebuilds/..." — which sends the operator to install a module that is already there. It also reports through stdout: node echoes the whole -e source above a stack trace, and matching tokens against stderr made the probe's own source text answer for the verdict. Verdicts reach clients as a terminal_unavailable degradation alongside the existing browser_unavailable one, through the same cause-registry shape. degradations[].code is now an open vocabulary; clients already render only `message`. Prebuilds are compiled from PATCHED sources — the patch IS the glibc-floor fix, so an upstream tarball reproduces #9902 — into linux-{x64,arm64}-{glibc,musl} and darwin-{x64,arm64} slots. libc is in the slot name because node-pty's loader falls back to prebuilds/<platform>-<arch> and cannot tell glibc from musl. orcad installs the matching slot at boot, so a host with no compiler serves terminals. The relay's five pure toolchain-diagnosis functions moved to a transport-free module so the Node bundle can reuse them without dragging ssh2 in behind them; the relay keeps its API by re-export. macOS gets `xcode-select --install` rather than the cross-distro apt/dnf/pacman/apk menu, every line of which is wrong there. * test(orcad): pin the node-pty precondition to ground truth, not a prepared host CI's test shard runs `vitest` directly, so `ensure-native-runtime --runtime=node` never prepares node-pty for the Node ABI — `degraded` is the correct verdict there, and asserting 'ok' encoded an environment the shard does not have. Asserting whatever it returned would be vacuous, so the expectation is now derived from an independent require() of node-pty. Verified it still bites: forcing the precondition to always report 'ok' fails the suite. * feat(orcad): run the terminal daemon, and the ops contract around it orcad declared `canRecoverPersistentLocalPtys: () => false` because it did not run the terminal daemon, so every restart, update and rollback SIGKILLed every running terminal — on the host whose selling point is that work survives the client going away. That is the one property `ssh-execution-boundary.md` recommends the peer model for. Item 4 — the daemon: - Port the launch path off electron: `daemon-init.ts`, `daemon-host-relocation.ts` and `observability/logs-directory.ts` now read the `AppEnvironment` port. Relocation additionally asks whether the app root is an asar archive rather than whether the build is packaged, so a Node host answering `isPackaged() === true` no longer walks into an Electron-only NSIS-escape path (same precedent as `parcel-watcher-entry-path.ts`). - `build-orcad.mjs` emits `daemon-entry.js` beside `orcad.js`, scans the forked children's metafiles for electron/node:sqlite, and load-checks the child under plain Node. - orcad spawns and adopts the daemon; shutdown disconnects and never kills it. `canRecoverPersistentLocalPtys` now reads the live provider and is false under degraded routing, where fresh terminals would die with the process. Item 3 — the ops contract (docs/reference/orcad-operations.md): - Bind policy: `--bind`, default loopback, pinned so neither `orca serve`'s wide default nor the connected-device widen can override it, and so a paired client cannot rebind the listener from outside. - Instance lock on the data root before profile load, scoped to the runtime role so it never refuses a restart that a live daemon makes worthwhile. - Supervision: exit codes a supervisor can act on (78 = do not retry), second-signal escalation, a shutdown deadline, and crash-loop containment on daemon respawn. - Health in the readiness payload: build hash, Node ABI, and a PTY self-test that spans both processes — the daemon spawns a real PTY in its own process and the verdict crosses its socket. Both bundle load-checks now assert on exit codes: these bundles are minified onto one line, so Node's uncaught-exception report echoes every string literal in the bundle and the previous message match passed against a bundle that never loaded. * feat(orcad): deploy, activate and roll back a versioned orcad install Plan items 6 and 7 from docs/design/shipping-orcad.html. Install reuses the relay's transaction verbatim — per-version lock, staged SFTP write, .install-complete sentinel, stale-lock recovery — under a parameterized namespace, so orcad-<v>/ sits beside relay-<v>/ permanently (§06). Parameterizing GC is the trap that creates: each model now collects only its own directories, enforced twice (prefix-scoped remote listing plus a local ownership re-check), and a client picks its model from how the host is registered, never from what it finds on disk. Activation is separate from installation, because a versioned directory selects nothing. A candidate is launched, publishes orca_server_ready, and only becomes active if its cross-process health payload passes: right build hash, listening, daemon live, PTY self-test green. A rejected candidate is stopped and the incumbent restarted, so a careful deploy cannot cause the outage it was being careful about. Update and rollback are shaped by the daemon. An update restarts orcad, the daemon outlives it, and the surviving daemon was forked from the outgoing bundle — so live terminals defer the update rather than proceed, and GC pins the active version, the rollback target and the live daemon's bundle. Orca's persisted state carries no schema version, so rollback restores a pre-activation snapshot rather than trusting backward-readability; the point past which it is unsafe is the first terminal created after activation, which the snapshot cannot describe and the surviving daemon still owns. Running the generated shell for real found two bugs the text assertions missed: tar members re-quoted inside a shell variable captured nothing, and kill -0 reports a zombie as alive. * test(orcad): assert the precondition is self-consistent, not environment-shaped The real-host case cannot predict a status: CI's shard runs vitest directly, so node-pty is never built for the Node ABI and 'degraded' is correct there, while a prepared checkout gives 'ok'. The previous attempt used require('node-pty') as ground truth, which resolves the JS wrapper while the native binding loads lazily — it proved strictly less than the precondition checks, and failed CI for exactly that reason. What is invariant on a host with node-pty installed: never 'blocked', and never a degraded verdict carrying an unestablished reason. The injected-input tests keep the logic coverage. * fix(orcad): drop an eslint-disable the rule no longer needs * test(orcad): separate slot placement from the load verdict Both remaining CI failures were the same shape: tests reaching into node_modules for a pty.node that only exists after `ensure-native-runtime --runtime=node`, which CI's shard never runs because it invokes vitest directly. Slot *placement* is the logic worth checking on every host, so it now uses a synthetic payload and asserts the verdict stays honest about not loading. The three assertions that genuinely need a Node-ABI binding are gated on it existing. Verified: breaking slot installation fails both placement tests; with the real pty.node hidden the file is 17 passed / 3 skipped instead of ENOENT. * test(orcad): gate the load-dependent cases on a real load, not on the file existing CI ships a pty.node built for Electron's ABI, so existsSync was true while require still failed — the gate ran exactly the tests that host can never satisfy. It now probes the binding in a child process, so a bad one cannot take the runner down. The self-consistency assertion also allowed too little: 'blocked' is the honest verdict for a corrupt binding, alongside 'ok' on a prepared host and 'degraded' on an unprepared one. What stays invariant is that anything other than 'ok' names an established cause, so a terminal is never declined for a reason nobody worked out. Verified against all three host states: prepared (19 passed), unprepared, and a corrupt binding (17 passed / 3 skipped, no failures). * test(orcad): gate on the whole premise — binding AND spawn-helper CI has a loadable pty.node but no spawn-helper, and a slot without the helper is legitimately 'degraded'. So the previous gate let a test run whose premise ('a complete slot yields ok') that host cannot satisfy. Verified in both states: with the helper present 19 pass; with it removed the load-dependent cases skip (17 passed / 3 skipped) instead of failing. * fix(orcad): preserve degradation types after rebase |

fix(worktree): never reissue a generated workspace name (#14350)
* fix(worktree): never reissue a generated workspace name
Generated workspace names were deduped only against currently-live
worktrees, so deleting a workspace returned its name to the pool. A later
workspace could draw the same name, land on the same directory path, and
inherit the previous occupant's agent conversation history — coding-agent
CLIs key their prompt history and transcripts by cwd.
Names are now retired permanently per repo. The registry is written in
main with the name Git actually used (the create loop can advance past a
requested name on collision), and seeded once per run from workspace
directories and surviving agent transcript buckets so already-spent names
are excluded from the start. Suggestions degrade to -2, -3 variants
instead of recycling, and those variants retire too.
User-typed names are untouched: retirement filters suggestions only.
* fix(mobile): honor retired workspace names, on one shared implementation
Mobile hand-duplicated the desktop name-suggestion algorithm and deduped
only against live workspaces, so a phone could still be offered a name
whose deleted workspace left agent conversation state behind at that path.
Both platforms now call one shared selector in src/shared, so the two can
no longer drift. The host publishes retired names as an optional field on
the existing worktree.list response, and mobile fetches them per selected
repo while the create sheet is open — mirroring the desktop hook.
Mobile never calls worktree.list for its catalog (it uses worktree.ps,
which carries rows only), so this is a targeted request rather than a
change to the catalog or its cache. Hosts predating the field omit it and
mobile falls back to live-only dedupe, which is the pre-change behavior.
* fix(worktree): close retirement consistency gaps
* test(worktree): cover retirement runtime contracts
* fix(worktree): retire generated collision names
* fix(worktree): enforce retired names at creation
* refactor(ai-vault): extract the Claude project-dir encoder
The bucket-name encoder and its scope-boundary check were private to the
session scanner, so a second consumer had to reimplement them — and got the
per-character encoding wrong. Move both to a shared module with direct tests.
* fix(worktree): make the retirement seed scan actually match buckets
The bucket encoder collapsed runs of non-alphanumerics while the real one
emits a dash per character, so every dot-path bucket missed and the Windows
default workspace root (C:\...) matched nothing at all. Reuse the shared
encoder and its boundary check, which also stops a repo absorbing a sibling
whose path merely shares its prefix.
Also:
- Derive the workspace leaf by stripping the known encoded parent instead of
guessing from trailing dash segments, which retired the parent directory's
name whenever a workspace was named numerically.
- Reuse isAutoGeneratedCreatureBranchName so the -10 and -100 tiers retire.
- Drop the .codex/sessions root: Codex keeps the cwd inside the transcript
rather than in a directory name, so the scan could only ever see a year
folder. Reading transcript contents is not a trade this feature justifies,
so the gap is documented instead.
- Honor CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR, which relocates the bucket root.
- Delete the unused retirableLeafName export.
Tests write buckets with the real per-character encoding against a fake home,
covering POSIX, dot-directory, Windows drive and WSL UNC roots; all three
platform cases fail against the previous encoder.
* fix(worktree): retire only generated names, keyed by cwd namespace
Two problems in the host-side registry.
Retirement fired for every create, including names the user typed. The
creature pool contains ordinary words — orca, runner, sole, molly, oscar — so
typing a retired 'nautilus' silently produced directory and branch
'nautilus-2' and burned the name for good. Creates now carry an explicit
nameWasGenerated flag; both the skip and the retire are gated on it, and it
defaults to false so CLI and automation callers are unaffected.
The registry was keyed by repo id, but both readers already discarded the id
and unioned by the cwd collision key, because the collision this prevents is
on the path. Keying by that namespace directly fixes several things at once:
entries no longer orphan when a repo is removed, remove/re-add no longer loses
every retirement for an unchanged path, the missing removeProject prune is
moot, and the backfill promise no longer merges into only the first repo id it
saw. The feature is unreleased, so no migration is needed.
Also:
- Memoize the collision key. It runs computeWorktreePath, which for a WSL repo
is a blocking execFileSync('wsl.exe') whose failure path is uncached, and
the previous code recomputed it once per repo on every create and every
listRetiredNames call.
- Drop retiredNamesByRepo from the worktree list result. It had no readers and
leaked onto 'orca worktree list --json', and its awaited backfill sat on CLI
selector resolution. The dedicated listRetiredNames RPC keeps its consumers.
- Make the three RuntimeStore methods required. RuntimeStore is file-private
with two constructors, so the 'older embedders' the optionality protected do
not exist, and the optional chain silently returned no retirements.
- Revert the unrelated forceDeleteBranch rewrite, and make room under the
file's line budget by extracting the create-args mapping instead.
* fix(worktree): send name provenance and stop gating Create on the fetch
Desktop and mobile now mark a create as generated-name only when the user
typed nothing and the composer fell back to the suggestion, so the host knows
which names it may retire.
Remove the retired-names loading gate from every create path. The host already
skips retired candidates before doing any git work, so the client gate bought
nothing while it could disable Create for the length of a full mobile
reconnect ladder (the wait had no timeout) and blank the desktop button
between queued creates. The suggestion still waits; the button never does.
Also make the web client call worktree.listRetiredNames instead of hardcoding
an empty list — the method is registered and mobile-allowlisted, so the
comment claiming no wire call existed was wrong — and filter the mobile
response to strings so a malformed row cannot throw during normalization.
* fix(worktree): key retirement by repo id and prune it with the repo
Reverts the collision-key storage key. It was a function of workspaceDir,
nestWorkspaces, worktreeBasePath and repo.path, so toggling any one of those
orphaned every retirement for every affected repo at once — trading a rare
churn (remove/re-add) for a common one. The read path already unions by cwd
namespace at query time, so cross-repo sharing never depended on the storage
key.
Instead, address the growth and orphaning directly:
- Drop the registry in removeProject, and in removeProjectForHost once the last
host's copy of the repo id is gone, alongside the sparse-preset deletes that
already follow this convention.
- Bound each repo's registry. The cap sits far above the 552-name pool because
evicting inside it would reissue a name whose agent state is still on disk;
only -2/-3 tier accumulation can ever reach it.
- Carry retirements through profile transfer, re-keyed to the destination repo
id and dropped from the source, mirroring sparsePresetsByRepo.
Separately, fix the backfill merge: the scan promise is cached per cwd
namespace, but it closed over the first repo id that triggered it, so a second
repo in the same namespace received nothing. The scan stays shared; the merge
moves out of the cached promise and runs for whichever repo asked.
Local repos re-seed on re-add through that backfill. SSH repos do not — the
scan cannot see the execution host — which is now stated in the module.
* docs(worktree): spell out why the retirement bound sits above the pool
Names the trap directly: the neighbouring 50/200 bounds cap histories, so
lowering this one to match them would silently start reissuing names whose
agent state is still on disk. Also states that oldest-first eviction is a
deliberate least-bad choice rather than a neutral one.
* fix(worktree): send name provenance from the web runtime client
This client hand-enumerates worktree.create params, so the new optional field
was silently dropped and typecheck could not see it. On web and paired-desktop
the host therefore never received it: generated names were never retired, and
the host-side skip that backstops a stale suggestion was disabled too. The same
client does fetch retired names for suggestions, so it was filtering against a
registry nothing ever wrote to.
The test asserts both directions, and fails without the fix.
* fix(worktree): retire names that took more than one collision suffix
isAutoGeneratedCreatureBranchName strips exactly one trailing -N, which is
right for auto-rename eligibility but wrong here. Once the pool is spent the
suggester emits nautilus-2, and a collision on that yields nautilus-2-3 —
which a single strip leaves as nautilus-2, not a pool name, so retirement
no-opped at exactly the tier where every base name is already gone. Strip
repeated suffixes locally rather than moving the auto-rename predicate.
* perf(worktree): keep the retirement backfill off the blocking WSL probe
The backfill runs on composer repo-select, not just at create time, and it
derived the probe path synchronously — which for a WSL repo with a mirrored
workspace dir reaches getWslHome and its blocking execFileSync('wsl.exe').
A stopped distro froze the main process for up to 5s on composer open.
Adds an async twin of computeWorktreePath and uses it for the probe. Resolving
the home there also warms the shared cache, so later sync callers are free.
Also stops memoizing the collision key when the WSL home is still unresolved:
only the success path is cached upstream, so caching the fallback namespace
would strand the repo there for the rest of the session.
* fix(worktree): hold retired names across a refresh instead of blanking
refreshKey changes on every workspace-list mutation, so create-multiple
refetches after each create and the hook returned an empty list until the
refetch landed — precisely the window in which resetForNextCreate clears the
name field and a fresh suggestion is drawn. Keep the previous answer while
revalidating and reset only when the repo changes; a failed refresh keeps what
was already loaded rather than un-retiring everything.
Also makes the returned array referentially stable, so the suggestion memo
downstream stops rerunning on every refetch.
* refactor(worktree): put the retired-name cache rules on one implementation
The desktop and mobile hooks that fetch retired names had already drifted
four ways. The transports genuinely differ (IPC vs RPC), but the caching
rules must not, and mobile's copy reset to [] on any error -- which
un-retires every name for the rest of the sheet session, the one outcome
retirement exists to prevent.
Moves the rules into src/shared/worktree/retired-name-cache: response
normalization, the never-leak-across-repos rule, and the hold-previous-on-
failure rule. Pure, no React, because src/shared is on the main process's
import graph. Each platform keeps its own transport and effect.
Mobile moves up to desktop's behavior: it now holds the previous answer
through a failed refresh, and refetches when the workspace list changes
instead of never refetching after mount.
Also drops the unused `loading` return. Neither platform consumed it; its
only consumer was the Create-button gate reviewed out earlier, and removing
it makes that regression unexpressible.
* fix(worktree): import shared types from their real modules
Main dropped the src/shared/types barrel, so the retirement module's import
resolved locally but not against the PR's merge base.
* refactor(worktree): bound the retirement registry by tier compaction, not eviction
Retirement is a correctness guarantee — a spent name's directory may still hold
agent conversation state keyed by that cwd — so the 2000-entry cap was the wrong
shape: reaching it handed a name back. At the owner's measured rate (~6.6 pool
names retired per day in one repo) the cap was ~9 months out.
Names come from a fixed 552-entry pool and the suggester only reaches tier N+1
once every tier-N name is taken, so a completed tier is exactly a set that no
longer needs listing. A row is now a watermark plus the names above it: reads
answer at-or-below the watermark with no lookup, and compaction drops the 552
entries the watermark now covers. Bounded at one pool per repo forever, with no
eviction and nothing un-retired.
Tiers can complete out of order (a create-time collision can spend `nautilus-2`
while tier 1 is open), so compaction loops and higher-tier names simply wait.
The RPC result carries the watermark beside the names as a new field; a client
predating it reads the names only and under-retires the compacted tiers, which
degrades to the pre-retirement behavior rather than breaking.

chore(lint): update oxlint to 1.77 and enable no-op cleanup rules (#13901)
Enable eleven oxlint rules that simplify code without changing behavior, and fix
every existing violation. Each candidate was gated on measured cost rather than
assumption, so rules that regressed runtime performance or type checking were
dropped instead of suppressed.
typescript/no-redundant-type-constituents is the largest addition: 113 sites, no
autofix. Dead constituents are deleted. Where the redundant literal existed to
document intent (`string | 'all'`), it is preserved as `(string & {})`, which
keeps the autocomplete hint the original code was reaching for instead of
flattening it away. The rule also caught a broken import —
remote-shared-control-retirement-probe.ts pulled RuntimeStatus from
src/shared/types, which does not export it, so the type silently degraded to
`any`; no tsconfig covers that file, so tsc never saw it.
oxlint stays at 1.77.0 rather than 1.78.0 because .npmrc sets
minimum-release-age=4320 and 1.78.0 is younger than that window.
Rules evaluated and rejected, with what disqualified each:
- prefer-string-raw: String.raw is a runtime call, not a literal (184x slower)
- prefer-string-replace-all: 26% slower
- text-encoding-identifier-case: ~5% slower, reproducible
- prefer-spread: [...str] is 110% slower than split('') and differs on surrogates
- no-implicit-coercion: `!!x` narrows types and `Boolean(x)` does not (22 tsc errors)
- prefer-arrow-callback: arrows are not constructible, breaking `new` on mocks
- object-shorthand: rewrites source text asserted by a tracked reliability gate
- switch-case-braces: pushes ten files past max-lines, which cannot be suppressed
- no-useless-switch-case: drops `case undefined:` that switch-exhaustiveness-check needs
- arrow-body-style: 115 violations have no fix, and it breaks max-lines
- newline-after-import: false-positives on the leading-semicolon ASI idiom
electron-vite-output-contract asserted on the literal
Object.prototype.hasOwnProperty.call text; retarget it to Object.hasOwn, which
rejects inherited keys identically.

feat(github): create stacked pull requests (#13750)
Adds GitHub stacked pull request creation: a contextual "Stack this PR above #N" option that appears only when the selected base branch has an open PR, plus the main-process stack preflight and registration. Also reworks the create-review composer for cohesion: shadcn Checkbox and Label primitives, base label above a full-width searchable combobox with attached results, keyboard navigation, and a unified field skin, spacing and typography scale. Verified end to end against real GitHub: extending an existing stack and creating a new one. |

perf(runtime): keep PowerShell ACL work and a second auth off the remote command path (#12451)
* perf(runtime): keep PowerShell ACL work and a second auth off the remote command path Two costs sat on the remote authentication path on Windows: - The E2EE handshake persisted `lastSeenAt` inline, and every secure-file write spawns PowerShell synchronously twice to reapply the registry ACL, so the client's `e2ee_authenticated` waited on both spawns. - Every remote CLI command except `status.get` opened a second full WebSocket connection just to re-read status for the protocol-compat check, doubling the authentications per command. The first sighting of a device still persists inline (rotation drops entries disk says were never scanned); later refreshes update memory now and coalesce onto one deferred write. The compat verdict is saved against the runtime's per-launch `runtimeId`, so a restarted or upgraded runtime retires it. * fix(runtime): preserve compatibility on one remote auth * fix(runtime): flush registry after transport shutdown |

fix(runtime): keep the listener on loopback for a "This computer only" pairing link (#12405)
* fix(runtime): keep the listener on loopback for a "This computer only" pairing link The runtime pairing URL handler called ensureNetworkExposure() for every offer, including one whose advertised address is loopback. Settings -> "Share this Orca server" offers a "This computer only" radio that pairs against 127.0.0.1 precisely so nothing is reachable off-host, yet choosing it rebound the WebSocket listener from 127.0.0.1 to 0.0.0.0 — and the widen never narrows back, so the runtime stayed exposed to the whole LAN for the rest of the process after the user picked the option that exists to avoid exactly that. Gate the widen on the advertised address: only a non-loopback endpoint (LAN, Tailscale, custom host) needs a listener reachable off this machine, so those paths keep widening exactly as STA-2370 intended. A loopback link is already served by the loopback listener, so it now mints without touching the bind. Classification reuses the shared pairing-address classifier, which also covers localhost, ::1 and 127.0.0.0/8 typed into the custom-address field. Tests: a real OrcaRuntimeRpcServer driven through the IPC handler asserts the bind host stays 127.0.0.1 after a local link and flips to 0.0.0.0 after a LAN one, plus handler-level cases for 127.0.0.1 / localhost / ::1. * fix(runtime): gate the pairing widen on the user's declared reach, not the address shape Review of #12405 found two ways the loopback fix misbehaved. 1. The guarantee died at the next launch. resolveInitialWebSocketBindHost() binds 0.0.0.0 whenever any device has lastSeenAt > 0, and MobileSocketWiring stamps that for EVERY authenticated socket — including the local browser opening a "This computer only" link. So the runtime was still published on every interface, one restart later. Grants now carry the reach they were minted for (DeviceEntry.pairingReach, persisted); a this-computer grant no longer counts as proof that an off-host client may reconnect. Registries written before the field default to network reach, so an already-paired phone still finds a wide listener after upgrading. A pending grant that is re-advertised for the network widens (never narrows) so its link survives. 2. The widen was gated on the shape of the typed address, which the renderer never sent the intent for. A Custom `127.0.0.1:8443` — the documented SSH tunnel / reverse proxy field — skipped the widen and produced a dead link, while `localhost:8443`, `[::1]:6768` and `ws://127.0.0.1:6768` widened, so the same loopback intent was handled three different ways. The renderer now sends the declared reach ('this-computer' | 'network') and main gates on it; the address is only used as a mismatch guard (a this-computer reach carrying an off-host address still widens rather than minting an unreachable link), resolved through resolveAdvertisedPairingHostname so every accepted address form classifies identically. Also corrected the ensureNetworkExposure invariant comment: the widen is no longer confined to the first pairing action, so it can now tear down live loopback sockets — they reconnect on the reused pinned port. Tests: reach-form matrix + tunnel/undeclared/mismatch cases in mobile.test.ts, real-server relaunch bind for both reaches, legacy registry compatibility, the pending-grant reach upgrade, a live-client port-stability guard, hostname resolver coverage, and the renderer reach plumbing. Reverting only the source fails 18 of them. --------- Co-authored-by: OrcaWin <293788423+OrcaWin@users.noreply.github.com> |

fix(runtime): bind mobile WS listener to loopback until pairing (STA-2370) (#11956)
The runtime RPC WebSocket listener bound to 0.0.0.0:6769 at startup, so a desktop with no paired device was reachable from the whole LAN before the user opted in. Default the bind to 127.0.0.1 and widen to all interfaces only on an explicit opt-in: - createMobilePairingOffer / getRuntimePairingUrl widen (ensureNetworkExposure) before advertising a LAN endpoint; the rebind reuses the resolved port so an already-issued offer stays valid, and concurrent offers share one rebind. - orca serve and E2E set exposeNetworkByDefault to bind wide at startup. - A previously-connected device (lastSeenAt > 0) rebinds wide at startup so reconnect after restart keeps working; a pending/never-connected offer does not persist exposure across a restart. The advertised pairing endpoint still resolves to a concrete interface address, never the 0.0.0.0 bind host. |

fix(runtime): reclaim orca-runtime.json when it stops describing this runtime (#10840)
* fix(runtime): reclaim orca-runtime.json when it stops describing this runtime On macOS the Chromium single-instance lock is silently defeated whenever `SingletonSocket`/`SingletonCookie` go missing from the profile — and the socket they point at lives under `$TMPDIR` (`/var/folders/.../T`), which macOS purges after 3 days (`com.apple.bsd.dirhelper`, CLEAN_FILES_OLDER_THAN_DAYS=3). A launch that slips past the lock runs a full startup, republishes `orca-runtime.json` with its own pid, and leaves the CLI on a dead pid once it exits: `orca status` reports `stale_bootstrap` and every terminal command fails `runtime_unavailable` while the original app keeps serving. The owner now watches its own discovery record and republishes once no live runtime is described. Reclaiming only a dead pid is deliberate: two live runtimes sharing a profile would otherwise fight over the file. Reproduced on macOS with two real Orca main processes on one profile: the second instance took the lock and clobbered the record, and killing it left `stale_bootstrap` against the still-healthy first instance. With this change the owner reclaimed the record in ~2s and the CLI returned to `ready`. Refs #7848 * test(runtime): assert stop() clears the metadata ownership timer The republish guard alone kept the shutdown test green, so the watch teardown was unasserted. Also drop the doc claim of startup/activation callers that do not exist. * test(runtime): stand in a real live pid for the sibling-runtime case Windows never assigns pid 1, so the hardcoded sibling read as dead there and the watch would reclaim the record. Own a synthetic pid instead and let process.pid play the live sibling. |

fix(runtime): reserve long-poll headroom so orchestration.ask can't starve terminal.wait (#10529)
* fix(runtime): reserve long-poll headroom so orchestration.ask can't starve waits orchestration.ask joined the long-poll set, which also opted it into the single server-wide activeLongPolls counter. Because ask blocks on a reply for its full timeout (600 s default, previously unbounded via a caller timeoutMs), 16 asking workers could hold every slot and shed terminal.wait and check --wait with runtime_busy for every other client — mobile, web, CLI, SSH and relay all share this runtime. Meter ask as its own long-poll class with a sub-cap of half the budget, and clamp the caller-supplied timeoutMs at 30 min. The keepalive and abort-signal wiring that motivated the original change is unchanged. * test(runtime): cover the ask sub-cap and counter release on the WebSocket path The admission fence is shared by both transports but only the Unix-socket path was exercised, so a WS-only regression in admitLongPoll/releaseLongPoll would have shipped silently. Drives handleWebSocketMessage with a 'runtime' scoped device (orchestration.ask is absent from the mobile allowlist) and asserts the overflow ask is shed without burning a reserved slot, that check --wait still gets the other half, and that both counters return to zero when the socket closes. |

fix(orchestration): treat ask as a long-poll so it survives the 30s socket idle wall (#9351)
orchestration.ask blocks server-side until a reply lands or its timeout
(default 600s) elapses, holding the RPC open — but isLongPollRequest never
classified it as a long-poll. So the keepalive that resets the 30s
RUNTIME_RPC_SOCKET_IDLE_TIMEOUT_MS was never armed, and any ask left
unanswered for 30s died with a misleading runtime_unavailable ("The Orca
runtime closed the connection"), regardless of --timeout-ms. The same
omission left the handler's abort signal unwired (it is only passed for
long-polls), so the client-disconnect release path guarded by
signal?.aborted was dead code.
Add orchestration.ask to isLongPollRequest so it gets the keepalive, the
abort signal, and long-poll admission. The client already extends its
per-call socket timeout for ask (handlers/orchestration.ts passes
timeoutMs + 5s at the call site), so only the server-side classification
was missing.

* feat(mobile-pairing): surface unpaired-device auth failures instead of silent 4001 loops Desktop: when a phone repeatedly fails direct-transport E2EE auth with a token missing from the device registry (pre-v1.4.106 pairing-path bug left desktops that regenerated their registry rejecting paired phones forever), throttle to one notification per session and show an actionable toast pointing at Settings -> Mobile to re-pair. Mobile: map a bare 4001 close onto the existing auth retry budget (the encrypted e2ee_error is undecryptable when the desktop keypair changed, so the close code is the only surviving signal) instead of looping the generic reconnect forever, and make the auth-failed verdict say 'Pairing invalid - re-pair with your desktop' instead of a bare 'Auth failed'. * fix(mobile-pairing): handle stale keys and startup notification races * fix(mobile-pairing): isolate auth notification failures * fix(mobile-pairing): keep recovery alert actionable |

feat(mobile): Quick Commands (terminal + agent-prompt presets) (#9298)
* feat(mobile): add Quick Commands (terminal + agent-prompt presets)
Brings the desktop Terminal Quick Commands feature to mobile: saved
agent-prompt or terminal-command presets that launch a new terminal tab.
Entry point sits in the session tab strip next to the "+" new-terminal
button (with a divider) — quick commands spawn a tab, so they live with
tab creation, mirroring desktop's tab-bar split button.
- Launcher button + Quick Commands bottom sheet (search, This project /
Global groups, run/edit/delete rows, add row).
- Add/Edit sheet mirroring desktop TerminalQuickCommandDialog: Label,
Action toggle (Terminal Command | Agent Prompt), Agent select, Prompt /
Command Text, Advanced (Append Enter, Scope Global/Project), validation
and save-failure feedback.
- Launch reuses handleCreateTerminal (extended with enter + toast copy):
agent prompts launch the agent then deliver the prompt; terminal
commands run the (Enter-appended) command text.
- Expose terminalQuickCommands over the remote/mobile RPC surface
(getClientSettings/updateClientSettings allowlists, RuntimeStore type,
and the strict SettingsUpdate zod schema).
- Mirror the agent-prompt support predicate mobile-side (stdin-after-start
agents are unsupported) with a parity test guarding drift from desktop.
- Mock server: sample quick commands + settings.update handler for QA.
* fix(mobile): harden quick command execution
* fix(mobile): harden quick command persistence and launch
* test(mobile): preserve unexpected quick command errors
* fix(mobile): harden quick command launch performance
* fix(runtime): reject malformed quick command updates
* refactor(mobile): reuse shared quick-command logic instead of mirroring
The mobile quick-commands mirror was built on a false premise — that
runtime-importing src/shared/terminal-quick-commands breaks the RN bundle
/ Vitest. It doesn't: tui-agent-config → orca-cli-command-name is a pure
leaf with no module-load Node APIs (verified via probe + bundle-graph).
- Mobile now reuses the canonical desktop helpers (action/agent/scope/
matchesRepo/support/flatten) directly from src/shared; only genuinely
mobile-specific pieces (agent-branded labels, native row truncation,
the launch plan) stay local.
- Multiline runnable terminal commands now flatten via the shared
flattenTerminalQuickCommand (";"-join) — unity with desktop, so a
command saved on one runs identically on the other.
- Drop the MOBILE_TUI_AGENT_PROMPT_COMMAND_UNSUPPORTED mirror + its parity
test; use the shared supportsTerminalAgentQuickCommand predicate.
- Export the shared MAX_QUICK_COMMAND_* length caps for reuse.
* fix(mobile): protect quick command data boundaries
* fix(mobile): enforce quick command limits
* fix(mobile): make quick command updates atomic
* fix(mobile): keep quick command filters recoverable
* fix(mobile): use filled play icon for quick commands

Clarify Orca Mobile pairing connection paths (#9425)
* Restructure mobile pairing setup into a clear stepped layout * Rework mobile pairing UI: radio-style path selector with sign-in gate fo * fix(mobile): resolve mobile-pairing review findings Applies the code-review findings for the reworked pairing UI: - Clear a displayed Relay QR on sign-out in both MobilePage and MobilePane (the rework dropped the wasSignedInRef watcher, leaving a stale Relay QR next to a "sign in required" prompt). Anywhere stays selected; the QR re-mints as local-only. [#1, #3] - Extract useMobilePairingConnectionMode so both panes resolve the saved preference identically instead of duplicating the state + resync effect. [#6] - Delete ~24 i18n keys the rework left unreferenced; sync locale catalogs to parity. [#4] - Give the connection-path radiogroup roving tabindex + arrow-key nav and document why it diverges from SettingsSegmentedControl. [#7] - Add MobilePane.test.tsx (previously untested safety logic) and a MobilePage saved-local-only restore test. [#2, #5] Verified: 22 targeted tests pass, typecheck + oxlint clean, localization catalog/coverage and max-lines ratchet green. * fix(mobile): resolve adversarial-review findings for pairing UI Address accepted findings from the mobile pairing UI rework: - MobilePane: add a request-generation epoch so a late getPairingQR response can't paint a stale Relay QR after sign-out, a mode switch, or an address change; arm rotation when discarding a pending mint. - MobilePage: on sign-in, upgrade a signed-out local-only fallback QR to Relay (invalidate + rotate-regenerate); handle null->connected too. - Extract useMobilePairingQrInvalidation so both sign-in/out edges and cross-window preference syncs invalidate/re-mint the QR consistently. - MobilePane: clear + rotate the QR when the selected address changes (manual pick or refresh-driven) so it can't encode the old endpoint. - MobilePairingConnectionOptions: guard the Sign in CTA on configured; show an Unavailable panel on unconfigured builds instead of dead CTA. - Drop the duplicate sign-in helper from MobilePairingSetupSection. - Remove dead i18n keys (title, recommended, signInToGenerate) and add relayUnavailable across all locale catalogs. - Add tests: deferred sign-out/mode-switch races, sign-in upgrade, cross-window sync, unconfigured build, arrow-key radiogroup. TODO left for the relay-label-honesty finding: getPairingQR does not expose the actually-encoded mode when an automatic offer degrades to local-only, so the mismatch can't be surfaced without a new return field. * fix(mobile): resolve relay-pairing deep-review regressions - MobilePane: invalidatePairing now clears loading so a superseded mid-flight generate can't wedge Generate disabled forever - MobilePage: stop auto-minting a local-only QR under the Relay label when signed out with Anywhere; gate Step 2 auto-generate and the Generate button on a shared canMintMobilePairingOffer helper, align with Settings, clear QR + loading on sign-out, mint Relay on sign-in - qr-invalidation: clear pairQrDataUrl (and loading) on every invalidation path so a stale QR can't stay scannable during rotation - Strengthen MobilePane/MobilePage tests for the aligned behavior and stuck-loading coverage - Translate relayUnavailable in es/ja/ko/zh Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> * fix(mobile): refuse to mint QR when signed-out with Anywhere selected Replace silent degradation of Anywhere mode to local-only QR with explicit refusal. Add canMintMobilePairingOffer guard across all mint paths (address change, network invalidation, connection mode switch). This ensures the UI honestly encodes the selected pairing path. Improve keyboard focus visibility on the path selector by adding a persistent focus ring. * fix(mobile): detect and flag Relay provisioning degradation When Relay provisioning fails during automatic (Anywhere) pairing offer creation, the offer silently degrades to local-only. This confuses users who selected Anywhere expecting cellular capability. Add connectionMode field to the pairing offer result to expose what the offer actually encodes. The UI now flags degradation when the offered mode mismatches the user's selection. Also move credential rotation logic to the main process: rotate when requested mode differs from the pending token's encoded mode. This ensures QR codes displayed under an old policy can't pair under a new one, and windows reminting after preference sync converge on one token. Rename MobileRelayBetaAvailability → MobileRelayBetaNotice. * test(mobile): verify pairing codes don't flash during Relay mint Assert that the pairing QR and URL remain hidden while the Relay mint is pending, preventing confusing intermediate states when signing in unlocks Relay. --------- Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> |

feat(native-chat): native chat view across mobile, desktop, and web (#5824)
* feat(native-chat): add native chat view across mobile
* fix(native-chat): address review findings and CodeRabbit threads
Correctness:
- Restore an independent initial readSession seed and surface initial-drain
errors as snapshot frames so the chat view can never strand on 'loading'
- Pair mobile tool results to calls by ordinal FIFO (parallel calls no longer
misgraft results); clear a pending ask only when its own call resolves
- Show a new streaming reply immediately (same-turn suppression, not length)
- Delegate mobile noise filtering to the shared harness-injected classifier
- Admit soft-leaving mobile clients in beginMobileInputFloor (parity with
mobileTookFloor) so grace-window writes aren't dropped
- Self-heal a stale 'working' status once this turn's reply lands
- Catch RPC rejections in mobile file-open helpers; guard sanitizeToolInput
key collisions; settle web/runtime transports on unrecognized first frames
and forward snapshot errors
Perf:
- Throttle the mobile streaming bubble (50ms) so per-part status frames stop
re-parsing the whole accumulated markdown
- Short-circuit markdown path detection on dot-less or oversized runs
(quadratic backtracking guard)
UX/minor:
- Wire hold-mode dictation through the native chat composer
- Allow scoped-package (@) paths in file-path detection
- Move caret after mid-text autocomplete insertion; index-prefixed ask option
keys; single scroll-to-end effect; bounded wait + toast when image attach
races a resubscribe; count-based pending reconciliation; cache-hit search
cancels stale debounce; chat-tab toggle wins over in-flight preference load
- Share shouldStepNativeChatAskAnswer between desktop and mobile; import
block guards/source priority from shared instead of local copies
- Defensive non-positive transcript limits; test strengthening (TTL expiry,
post-unsubscribe stale frame, lease readiness, filtered console.error)
* refactor(native-chat): share desktop/mobile chat logic in src/shared
Extract the parity-mirrored native-chat modules into shared implementations
both surfaces re-export: ask parsing (registry, parseAskFromStatus,
extractPendingAsk, formatAskAnswer), answer stepping offsets/scheduler, diff
detection/parsing, harness-noise filtering, tool fold/pair/split, and tool
summaries. Removes the hand-synced copies and their stale Metro comments.
Divergence reconciliations take the safer side of each: diffs truncate at
120 lines/32KB everywhere (desktop previously unbounded), tool-run summaries
cap at 3 parts with bounded-depth previews, nameless tool calls are skipped,
and basenames split on both separators.
Also: settle and kill every sibling quick-open pass when one reaches
maxResults (main rg/git and relay git; relay rg already did) so a capped
search cannot leave a scan walking a huge tree; fold window-bounding into
the shared merger's applyAppend; localize the web 'Pair a host' snapshot
error.
* fix(native-chat): address CodeRabbit follow-ups on shared modules
- Attachment lease gate re-checks connection/target/tab after the bounded
wait, so a tab/host switch or disconnect mid-wait can't send into a stale
terminal; a moved-away target drops silently like the pre-wait guard and
only an unrecovered lease surfaces the toast. Adds hook tests.
- extractPendingAsk parses transcript tool-calls through the same
registered-parser + canonical-shape fallback as live status, so a custom
question tool that rendered live survives reconnect/replay.
- Direct unit tests for the shared ask parser (FIFO ordering, fallback,
malformed payloads) and tool-summary bounded preview (depth/collection
caps, circular refs, basename/command branches).
* fix(native-chat): treat initialLimit 0 as a valid empty window
Both engine guards used truthiness, so an explicit zero limit skipped the
bounded tail reader and fell back to an unbounded incremental read. Latent
only (every caller clamps positive), hardened for consistency with the
tail reader's non-positive-limit handling.
* fix(mobile): native-chat composer lock UX + send-failure feedback
- Distinguish input-lock reasons: transport 'disconnected' shows Reconnecting…
instead of mislabeling a reconnect as locked-by-another-client
- Guard the composer lock behind a 600ms hold so connState blips / lease
hand-offs don't flicker the placeholder; unlock stays instant
- Surface a rejected send inline above the composer (a bottom toast hides
behind the keyboard); auto-dismisses after 4s
- waiting-session hint invites the first message instead of implying the
agent is still starting
* test(mobile): sync answer-send pacing test to the 500ms advance buffer

feat(mobile): match desktop's Smart workspace source picker exactly (#7985)
* feat(mobile): start a workspace from a branch, issue/PR, or Linear ticket Unify mobile workspace creation with desktop. The "+" Create Workspace modal now has a primary "Start from" field that opens a tabbed search drawer (Branch · GitHub · GitLab · Linear), letting a user start a workspace from an existing/new git branch, a GitHub issue/PR, a GitLab issue/MR, or a Linear ticket — in addition to the default blank workspace. No new backend is required: the search RPCs (github.listWorkItems, gitlab.listWorkItems, linear.searchIssues/listIssues, repo.searchRefs) and the worktree.create linked-item params were already used by the mobile Tasks screen. This surfaces them in the create flow, reusing the existing pure modules (buildTaskWorkspaceCreateParams, shouldResolveHostedReviewStartPoint, filterAvailableTaskProviders). Details: - New pure modules: workspace-source-selection, use-workspace-source-search, source-workspace-create, worktree-create-retry, blank-workspace-create (the blank/retry path extracted from the modal for reuse + line budget). - New UI: WorkspaceSourcePickerDrawer (+ row) and SetupHookTrustDrawer (extracted from the modal). - Older paired desktops (missing the mobile.tasks.v1 capability) degrade to Branch + Blank only; GitLab/Linear tabs appear only when available. - GitHub/GitLab sources pin their repo; switching repos resets the source. PR/MR sources resolve their base branch at create time; SSH repos gate search until connected (Linear search is repo/SSH-independent). * fix(mobile): hydrate settings/trust before availability probes settle Review fixes for #7985: setTrustedOrcaHooks/setRuntimeSettings no longer wait on status.get/preflight.check/linear.status (a first-open preflight.check can take seconds, widening the spurious setup-trust re-prompt window). Also adds param-parity tests for createBlankWorkspace and a GitLab MR base-resolve test. * feat(mobile): match desktop's Smart source picker exactly Rework the mobile create-workspace source picker to be a faithful port of desktop's Smart picker instead of the earlier divergent "Start from" drawer. The mobile field is now the workspace-name input AND the source search, with the exact desktop tabs — Smart · GitHub · Linear · GitLab · Branch · Name. "Smart" fans out across GitHub + GitLab + Linear + branches, prepends a "Use '<name>'" row, and resolves pasted URLs / #123 / STA-42 to exact items (with a cross-repo switch prompt). Selecting a source shows a pill and moves the editable name into Advanced. The invented "Blank workspace" concept is removed — the neutral state is just a typed/empty name (blank submit still yields a creature name). DRY: the pure desktop logic (smart-workspace-source-results, -command-value, github-links, gitlab-links, work-item-link-query-bounds, github-work-item-identity) moves to src/shared/new-workspace/ with re-export shims at the old renderer paths, so both renderer and mobile share one implementation. composer-branch-selection and workspace-name were already shared and are reused directly. Two read-only lookup RPCs are allowlisted for mobile so pasted GitLab URLs and cross-repo GitHub URLs resolve to exact items (github.workItemByOwnerRepo, gitlab.workItemByPath). New mobile modules are split for max-lines: use-mobile-composer-source (selection state + desktop-parity handlers, PR/MR base resolve), use-smart-workspace-source + smart-source-fan-out/-search-requests/-paste-intent (RPC orchestration), composer-linked-work-item / work-item-lookup-text / mobile-smart-source-modes (pure logic), and SmartWorkspaceSourceField/Drawer/Row + SmartWorkspaceAdvancedFields. Replaces WorkspaceSourcePickerDrawer/Row, workspace-source-selection, use-workspace-source-search, and MobileWorkspaceNameInput. Reviewed by three adversarial agents + re-reviewed after fixes: GitHub search now returns issues AND PRs (not issues-only), Linear defaults to assigned, create-branch preserves slashy names, cross-repo PR base resolves against the item's own repo, displayName is suppressed for user-edited names, and the smart-mode GitHub fan-out respects availability. tsc/oxlint/max-lines-ratchet clean; 1328 mobile tests pass. * fix(mobile): keep smart source drawer fully visible * refactor: share workspace creation behavior across clients * fix: address workspace creation review findings --------- Co-authored-by: Brennan Benson <brennanbenson@Brennans-MacBook-Pro.local> |

Show agent session history on mobile (#6786)
* Show agent session history on mobile Bring the desktop "Agent Session History" panel to Orca Mobile as a per-worktree screen: browse past agent transcript sessions across the host with scope tabs (Workspace/Project/All), search, grouping, session cards, and tap-to-read message previews. The transcript scan previously ran only over Electron IPC, so mobile could not reach it. Expose it over the runtime RPC protocol mobile already speaks (aiVault.listSessions) so the scan runs on whichever host owns the transcripts — correct for local and SSH/remote hosts. Both the desktop IPC handler and the new RPC method share one cache, so opening the desktop panel and the mobile screen never double-scan. The pure filter/group/display logic is lifted into /shared (the renderer re-exports it) so the standalone mobile package can reuse it. Mobile narrows scoped tabs client-side by cwd path-prefix because the host scan treats scope paths as a widening union. Resume-from-mobile is intentionally a follow-up. * Fix mobile agent history list rendering and RPC authorization - Authorize aiVault.listSessions in the mobile RPC allowlist so the mobile client's call is not rejected before dispatch (without this the screen could never load sessions at runtime). - Name each SectionList section's rows `data` (the field React Native reads) instead of `cards`, fixing a type error and silent empty-section rendering. * Address review feedback on agent session history - Match quoted repo:/path: search operator values so labels and paths with spaces match (e.g. path:"/Users/ada/My Project"). - Hold a scoped tab in loading until the worktree list resolves instead of firing an unscoped fetch that briefly shows unrelated host history; proceed once loaded even if the worktree is absent (no stuck spinner). - Clear cached host capabilities on disconnect/host-switch and failed status.get so a capability-gated action can't linger for a host that doesn't support it. - Cover the real OrcaRuntimeService codex-home forwarding path and the quoted-operator parser with tests. * Hide redundant mobile current worktree badges Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> * Resume agent sessions from mobile history (#6969) Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> * Adapt merged seams to main's lint and reply-sender hardening Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> * Cap mobile project-scope paths to the aiVault RPC bound Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> * Share the aiVault scopePaths bound between the RPC schema and mobile Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> * Guard shared AI Vault inflight cleanup against concurrent key replacement The extracted cache module's .finally() cleared inflight tracking unconditionally, dropping the if (inflightKey === key) guard its sibling outer cache kept: an older scan resolving after a different-key scan replaced the tracking would null the newer scan's dedup slot, so a re-request started a duplicate transcript rescan. Mirrors the sibling guard; the regression test flushes a macrotask so a reverted guard fails fast on the call count instead of hanging. Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> * Harden aiVault.listSessions contract and gate mobile header entry on capability - Clamp scopePaths (64) instead of rejecting, cap limit at 2000, and make executionHostId optional so mobile can omit it; restamp per caller. - Retain successful mobile terminal-create mutation ids for 60s so resume retries dedupe after transient socket drops. - Gate the session-header Agent History action on the aiVault.v1 capability (mirrors the host-list action) so old hosts never show a dead-end entry. - Fix stale contract comments (scopePaths clamp semantics; filters move includes quoted repo:/path: operator parsing). * Add subagent field to session test fixtures after #7423 merge AiVaultSession.subagent became required on main; the five fixtures added on this branch predate it. Top-level scanned sessions carry null. --------- Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> Co-authored-by: Brennan Benson <brennanbenson@Brennans-MacBook-Pro.local> |

Harden layout validation, watcher lifecycle, and connection robustness (#7924)
* Harden layout validation, watcher lifecycle, and connection robustness - Throw instead of silently skipping when the packaged daemon-entry is missing, preventing layout regressions from passing build checks. - Terminate idle parcel-watcher processes to reclaim native handles and avoid crash-prone native node module teardowns on shutdown. - Bind the persisted WS fallback port first to prevent orphaning active mobile pairings when the preferred port becomes free again. - Cap concurrent disk reads for restored dirty tab verification at three to prevent startup connection bottlenecks on remote SSH workspaces. * Queue file IDs instead of snapshots in restored conflict scans This avoids using stale file snapshots (e.g., outdated disk signatures) if a tab is saved, closed, or re-baselined while waiting in the queue behind the concurrency limit. The live state is now fetched from the store and validated immediately before initiating the disk read. |

Fix SSH state for paired remote clients + complete target re-adoption sweep (STA-1468) (#7767)
* Sweep all persisted carriers of a removed SSH target id on re-adoption reassignSshTargetId re-pointed repos and worktree metas but left the old target id embedded in persisted session pty ids (ssh:<id>@@pty-N in tabs, layouts, remoteSessionIdsByTabId), the startup reconnect list (activeConnectionIdsAtShutdown, replayed via ssh.connect at boot — the exact 'SSH target not found' in STA-1468), sleeping-agent resume records, provisioned project host setups, sidebar host-scope arrays, and relay pty leases. Any survivor resurfaces later as a failing connect or reattach. New ssh-target-id-migration module re-points every carrier in one pass, wired into reassignSshTargetId with per-carrier unit and store-level round-trip tests. Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> * Bridge SSH connection state to paired remote clients The SSH surface was desktop-only: ssh:state-changed went to the host's own BrowserWindow and the web client's ssh API was a no-op stub, so a paired client's reconnect overlay never learned the host connected and its target labels stayed empty (STA-1468 — overlay stuck on 'please connect' over a live terminal). - New sshStateChanged runtime client event, emitted from broadcastSshState through OrcaRuntimeService onto the existing clientEvents stream. - New ssh.listTargets / ssh.listRemovedTargetLabels RPC methods next to the previously unused ssh.getState / ssh.connect. - Web preload now routes listTargets / listRemovedTargetLabels / getState / connect to the paired host's runtime RPC instead of stubbing them. - useIpcEvents applies sshStateChanged on paired web clients through the same guarded path as desktop ssh.onStateChanged; desktop clients ignore the event since a foreign runtime's targets would pollute their local SSH store. Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> * Harden the SSH reconnect overlay against stale or unknown target state - Only present the destructive 'SSH host removed' state on positive evidence (a removal tombstone label, or a hydrated non-empty target list lacking the id). A client whose SSH state never hydrated has an empty labels map for every id and must not offer workspace removal. - After a failed Connect, resync target metadata so a stale overlay converges to the ghost/re-adopted state instead of offering the same failing Connect forever (the repeated 'SSH target not found' toast loop in STA-1468). Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> * Address CodeRabbit review on #7767 - Re-key workspaceSessionsByHostId partitions stored under a removed SSH host id during re-adoption (no writer keys partitions by ssh host today, but the schema tolerates it — re-key instead of stranding; live partition wins when both keys exist). - Track SSH target-list hydration explicitly (sshTargetsHydrated) instead of inferring it from a non-empty label map, so a legitimately empty target list still counts as removal evidence and a never-hydrated client still never offers destructive removal. - Apply the refreshed target list before the best-effort removed-labels fetch in the overlay resync, so a labels failure can't discard it. chore(lint): upgrade oxlint to 1.71 + enable 7 new rules (autofixed backlog) (#6841)
* chore(lint): upgrade oxlint to 1.71 and enable 7 new rules Upgrade oxlint 1.67.0 -> 1.71.0 (1.72 was blocked by the repo's 3-day minimum-release-age supply-chain guard; nothing here needs it). The bump is a no-op on the existing config. Enable 3 error rules (backlog autofixed to zero in this commit) and 4 warn rules (surface signal without gating CI): error (autofixed, behavior-preserving): - unicorn/prefer-node-protocol (~1531 sites: bare builtin -> node:) - typescript/no-import-type-side-effects (~36: all-inline-type -> import type) - unicorn/no-array-reverse (19: copy-then-reverse -> toReversed) warn (real signal, current fires are test-only/correct): - unicorn/no-array-fill-with-reference-type (aliasing footgun guard) - typescript/no-unsafe-function-type (bans bare Function type) - unicorn/prefer-array-flat-map (map().flat() -> flatMap()) - unicorn/prefer-regexp-test (.match() in bool ctx -> .test()) mobile/.oxlintrc.json extends root, so it inherits all 7; the autofix ran from root and covered mobile/ too. Verification (all green): oxlint 0 errors (root+mobile+aux configs), oxfmt clean, typecheck (node+cli+web), vitest 22795 passed / 0 failed, builds (electron-vite + web + cli) succeed. node: rewrites confirmed to skip embedded SSH/CLI string payloads (AST-only); all toReversed sites verified to operate on fresh copies or write-once locals. * chore(lint): bump mobile oxlint to 1.71 so inherited rules parse mobile/ is a standalone pnpm project pinning its own oxlint@1.67, which lacks unicorn/no-array-fill-with-reference-type (needs >=1.70). Since mobile/.oxlintrc.json extends the root config, mobile CI's 'cd mobile && oxlint' failed to parse the new rule. Bump mobile to match root (1.71). Verified in mobile/: oxlint 0 errors, oxfmt --check clean, tsc --noEmit pass, vitest 978 passed / 0 failed. Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> --------- Co-authored-by: Orca <help@stably.ai> |

fix: reject mobile-scope web pairing and surface forbidden runtime errors (#6581)
Fixes #5508. Rejects mobile-scope phone-QR pairing in the full web client, keeps runtime browser access links on the instant startup path via advisory pairing scope metadata, and surfaces forbidden runtime scope errors instead of rendering empty workspaces or retry-looping setup checks. Security note: pairing offer scope is UI metadata only. Runtime RPC authorization remains based on the server-side device token registry and mobile allowlist. |
