feat(jira): remember repository project defaults (#28622)
Remember an optional Jira project for each repository so its issue picker and Tasks list start with the intended project and site. Keep temporary project overrides separate from the saved default, and choose a mapped workspace destination while retaining the Jira account that supplied the issue. Older hosts that discard the optional saved field return an actionable message.
Keep account ownership separate from repository execution identity. An explicit matching repository owner disambiguates repeated IDs; automatic defaults require ID uniqueness, and overrides include execution-host identity. Preserve existing preselection behavior, saved/manual query classification and linked-view choices. Reuse existing persistence, identity and query builders; check the final UTF-8 query length for searches and project-filtered presets and show a recoverable error before dispatch.

feat(jira): load attachment images outside issue Markdown (#28631)
Load Jira attachment images separately from issue Markdown so descriptions and comments stay small while screenshots load lazily and open in the existing lightbox. Downloads begin when an image mounts, capture its owning host, require negotiated image support, and use bounded authenticated byte streams and caches. Older clients retain their inline-image handlers. Keep legacy and cancellable downloads in separate in-flight domains so cancelling a new image reader cannot abort a legacy reader; completed bytes share the bounded cache. Preserve the landed assignee, board, transition/comment queue and request lifetimes. Move unchanged project metadata IPC handlers into their domain module and tighten two inherited focus-check ceilings without changing behavior. Validation:410 tests/54 suites; all changed-source quality stages, lint, format, routing and contract checks; exact final node/web types; independent source review;48/48 fresh hidden Electron checks with226 stable source hashes and nine inspected screenshots. Synthetic transports exercise production clients and UI. Current CI static checks, mobile bundle, wire compatibility, Linux/Windows packaging and Windows serve pass; five test shards were pending at review. Extends the existing attachment work credited to Frank (@lifefloating) and Brennan Benson in PR #8938; existing contribution credits and media remain in this PR. |

View Jira work on a board and filter the current sprint (#28633)
Show Jira issues as a board alongside the existing list and add the current-sprint preset. Status moves use the existing owner-scoped mutation queue, collect required workflow fields/comments, retain rejected drafts, and reload the mounted comment timeline once after success. Source/session fences keep older detail failures from undoing newer board moves. Preserve statuses plus sprint in query preview and Edit-as-JQL. Older hosts must advertise sprint support; unsupported peers fail clearly. Existing capability definitions and test fixtures are split without changing public exports, wire strings, or coverage to meet current lint limits. Validation:351 tests/42 suites,all46 changed sources full-file lint/anti-slop and7quality stages,localization/RPC checks, and independent source review passed. Node types passed on runtime-identical99d and web types passed on final602d. Fresh hidden Electron54/54 checks passed on99d; final two test-only changes were hash and emitted-runtime audited. The inherited IPC301-line failure is byte-identical main and being corrected separately by the image PR. Adapted Eugenio Valeiras (@EugeValeiras)'s board contribution from PR #13054. fix(browser): agent clicks keep the user's keyboard focus (#28454)
Any press on a <webview> guest moves Chromium focus into it, so an agent click took the user's terminal focus (#20595). Main now asks the hosting pane to guard focus for each agent press (Orca's click/mouse down and the CDP proxy) and the pane puts it back inside the webview's focus event, and again when the press ends. Offscreen pages keep their native focus. |

AI-button and OpenCode-model tabs start their agent in their own terminal (#28210)
* fix(agent-launch): an AI button plans its agent inside its own pane's spawn, with the host's planner and no launch record The window queues the launch on the tab; the pane's reserved spawn plans it with the planner every host launch uses and starts it at the pane's size, with its launch token. Every way the spawn ends finishes the launch, and the window pastes the prompt only once this pane says the agent started. An ordinary spawn reaches its provider without waiting on a plan. An OpenCode tab with a model keeps main's host hop untouched (TEMPORARY, until a local producer of model options exists). * fix(agent-launch): an AI button's prompt waits for its pane to start before the spawn budget runs, so a pane that settles slowly still gets its prompt; stale comments * test(agent-launch): the late pane-start test's store double is typed without an assertion * test(agent-launch): the late pane-start test pins the prompt written once and Enter once, and nothing when the pane didn't start * fix(agent-launch): an AI button's prompt goes only to the PTY its pane started, never a split's shell that bound first; the pane's start answer names that PTY * fix(agent-launch): an AI button's launch watches each split's readiness as it binds, so the launch pane's own ready output is seen even when a split bound first and it drained at once * fix(agent-launch): an AI button's pane plans with the host's current planner and runs its runtime fact's shell, so its command is quoted for the shell it is typed into, as a host launch is; the tab's inferred shell is not sent as a request |

Refresh Source Control only for the worktree whose git index changed (#26946)
* Refresh Source Control only for the worktree whose git index changed Index and HEAD-log writes under <common>/worktrees/<entry>/ now carry the checkout they belong to (resolved through the head-identity memo), and the renderer skips the status nudge when that checkout is a known sibling of the active one. Unattributable changes (shared config, bound upstream ref, overflow, SSH watches, unknown admin dirs) still refresh as before. * Pass the stable worktree-path getter as an effect dependency instead of a render-time ref * Fan out sibling head moves to every checkout's Source Control A commit to a shared branch (e.g. main) from a sibling worktree can move the active checkout's local upstream, whose ref leaf is not polled. Its logs/HEAD append now stays unattributed so ahead/behind refreshes immediately; index-only churn keeps its per-worktree attribution. --------- Co-authored-by: Neil <neil@stably.ai> |

feat(wsl): WSL distro hosts, main-process wiring and persistence (WSL-via-orcad C7a, experimental) (#27933)
* feat(wsl): persist WSL host deployments in their own store and type orcad deployment links by kind * chore(wsl): drop an unused link type export * feat(wsl): add, persist and connect WSL distro hosts behind an experimental flag (WSL-via-orcad C7a) Main-process wiring for WSL hosts: list registered WSL 2 distros, add one (C4 deploy and launch through C6 liveness, then persist the paired environment and its C2 record), keep a relaunch's new device token, connect a host only for the user or an open project or terminal, adopt holders at startup, and remove a host (release its holder, drop both records). Refuses a distro whose orcad this desktop already reaches as another server (R25). * fix(wsl): read distro registrations through one reader that returns the canonical unbraced GUID C4's registry reader returned the braced GUID while the C2 record only accepts it unbraced, and C7 parsed the same output a second time. The one reader now yields lowercase unbraced ids and each registration's WSL version; the host distro list uses it. * fix(wsl): refuse to connect a WSL host while the experiment is off Adding, connecting and background connects all stop while Experimental → WSL distros as hosts is off; removing still works. The pre-deploy refusals move to their own module. * fix(wsl): stop a connected WSL host's server when the host is removed Remove ended the bridge and released the distro's holder but left orcad to exit with the distro. A connected server is now ended right away, only in a distro already running. * fix(wsl): import the orcad host errors from their new orcad/ home * fix(wsl): refuse WSL hosts in a build without the orcad template, and say so up front A build shipped without the orcad deployment template let the add dialog run and fail after seconds with a raw internal error. Main now checks the template as SSH hosts do, refuses add and connect (and skips lazy connects and holder adoption) before any deploy work, and exposes the capability so the UI can show it. * test(wsl): let the e2e WSL fake re-read its distro list, to register one mid-run * fix(wsl): end a removed host's terminals and daemon, and stop WSL hosts when the experiment is off Remove now ends the host's terminals through orcad's terminal RPC, waits for the terminal census to prove none remain, closes the bridge, and runs the managed decommission SSH hosts use, which stops orcad and retires its idle terminal daemon. What it could not end is reported back. Turning Experimental → WSL distros as hosts off closes every connection and liveness watch, releases the holders so distros can idle-stop, and keeps liveness from relaunching for visible work; turning it on resumes only the hosts open work needs. * fix(wsl): keep WSL hosts out of the servers a phone reaches through this desktop They are this desktop's own distros, connected only for work open here; a phone listing or routing to one would wake it behind the user's back. * fix(wsl): end a removed host's terminals through its own route, and never respawn it Removal reached orcad with the bridge's raw pairing offer rather than the routed environment and saved pairing the app already uses for the host; on a real orcad ending terminals failed fast and left them, the daemon and orcad running. It now calls by environment id through the same transport as every other call to the host, and the e2e fake runs these real steps against a headless server. Removal also stops tracking the host first (open work, connects, runtime calls), so nothing reconnects it while it stops, and a spawn guard in the connector refuses any holder, deploy or bridge for a distro whose host is gone (the respawn loop after removal). A WSL host that isn't connected answers runtime calls with why, instead of failing as an unreachable network server. * fix(wsl): suggest reconnecting a WSL host, not Tailscale, when it can't be reached Unreachable-server hints are chosen by the owner host's kind: a WSL host is a distro on this computer, so it points at its reconnect instead of the Tailscale advice for network servers. * test(wsl): parse the terminal list removal reads, and log the e2e fake's connects to a file * fix(wsl): close a removed host's terminals by handle and report stopped only on proof Removal stopped terminals per workspace, so one orphan whose project was gone threw selector_not_found and aborted before orcad was stopped. It now closes each terminal by handle, keeps going past failures and names them, and still asks orcad to stop. It reports stopped only when the census shows no session left, the daemon retired, and the orcad the distro records as active is the one this computer was connected to; a re-add that adopted an orcad the record does not name is reported instead of claimed stopped. * feat(wsl): close WSL hosts behind an internal-only gate in every build WSL distros as hosts must not be reachable by users until moving a project between hosts is lossless and the feature matches today's WSL support. ORCA_INTERNAL_WSL_HOSTS=1 opens the gate; otherwise main creates no WSL host service (no holder adoption, wsl.exe spawn or reconnect), refuses add, connect, remove and every runtime call to a WSL host, keeps persisted WSL hosts out of the server list, startup status probes and AI vault scans while leaving them on disk, and the preload exposes no WSL host API. * fix(wsl): keep SSH and paired servers listed whatever the WSL deployment file holds An unreadable WSL record no longer hides an SSH-linked server, and with the internal gate closed a corrupt WSL file is warned about instead of failing the whole registry. * fix(wsl): let an unreadable WSL record hide only a loopback pairing A WSL host always pairs over a loopback endpoint, so a stale record can no longer remove a remote paired server from the list. * fix(wsl): ignore unreadable WSL deployment state while the internal gate is closed A newer or stale record could otherwise hide a re-paired loopback server for users who never open the gate. |

feat(wsl): account env for agent tabs on a WSL orcad host (WSL-via-orcad C9b) (#27940)
* feat(wsl): account env for agent tabs on a WSL orcad host (WSL-via-orcad C9b) terminal.createAgentSession and an explicit terminal.ensureAgentSession (new agent tabs, restored and sleeping agents) accept an optional accountEnv, gated by the new agent-session.account-env.v1 capability because both schemas are strict. The desktop shim attaches it only for an advertising WSL orcad, reading its capabilities from status.get; an older host keeps its default account and the desktop shows a one-time notice per distro. accountEnv stays outside the create replay fingerprint. * test(wsl): name the C9b runtime store stub's cast * test(wsl): expect the WSL account notice listener in the app-lifetime IPC lifecycle |

fix(terminal): don't duplicate terminals a newer Orca still runs after a downgrade (#27577)
* refactor(daemon): share the cold-restore payload builder Lets a reader outside the adapter build the same saved-screen payload from history without spawning. * feat(daemon): hold restored terminals a newer build's daemon may still run (STA-9257) After a downgrade, an older build cannot adopt a newer-protocol daemon, so it cold-restored that daemon's terminals under the same ids and resumed their agents beside the originals. Startup now classifies newer-protocol pid records in this profile's runtime dir as live, unverifiable or exited, and pty:spawn refuses a restore no adopted daemon owns while one is live or unverifiable. Reopen stops the newer daemon by verified signal only and reports success only once its pid is confirmed gone. * feat(terminal): show held restored panes read-only with a Reopen banner (STA-9257) A pane refused for a newer daemon shows its saved screen read-only under a pane-top warning. Reopen terminal stops the newer daemon and releases every held pane through the existing reattach path, then toasts what actually reopened and resumed; an unconfirmed stop reopens nothing and offers Try again. * refactor(daemon): hold newer-daemon restores at the router, one classifier (STA-9257) The hold moves from the pty:spawn IPC handler into DaemonPtyRouter.spawn so every spawn source (IPC, runtime controller, mobile refresh, CLI) refuses a cold restore of an id no adopted daemon owns while a newer daemon is held. Discovery and stop share one classifier; an unidentifiable owner settles by whether its endpoint accepts a connection, so a dead leftover never holds a tab forever. Main announces a confirmed stop to the renderer. * fix(terminal): per-pane failed state, one release path, no repeated screen (STA-9257) A pane held after a failed Reopen shows the held state. Held panes also release on main's stop announcement, with one toast only from the clicking window. A pane whose saved buffer the layout restore already painted skips the history screen and is not cleared on release. * refactor(terminal): drop the release event, await the router hold, one phase per pane (STA-9257) The release announcement only reached the window that clicked, which already releases on its reply, so it is removed. The router hold check is always awaited; three router tests released the adapter spawn before the router had reached it and now wait for it instead. Each held pane carries its own phase. * refactor(terminal): trim the newer-daemon hold, keep paired panes out of it (STA-9257) A paired host's refusal is now an ordinary error: holding it locally looped, since this window cannot stop that host's daemon. The history-screen read is gone (the layout restore already paints saved output), discovery folds into the hold module, the hold store uses zustand, the reattach returns its outcome so a fresh-session fallback counts as reopened, and the toast uses plural keys. * feat(terminal): show a held local pane's saved screen read-only (STA-9257) Local daemon-backed panes keep no layout buffer, so a held pane was blank. Main reads the session's saved screen from history without spawning and the pane paints it read-only, unless the layout restore already painted the pane; it is cleared before the normal reconnect. * fix(daemon): re-probe a timed-out newer-daemon endpoint before holding (STA-9257) * feat(terminal): count held panes in the reopen label, add Dismiss (STA-9257) |

refactor(renderer): delete the direct-SSH authority and reconnect coordinator (#27587)
No ssh: git provider is registered in production, so the reconnect coordinator's catalog and lineage reads always came back non-authoritative and its worktree refresh never merged. Its only live effect was clearing an unconverted target's stale PTY bindings on each connected push and on wake; the state bridge now does that directly. Deletes the coordinator, preparation, worktree refresh scheduler, host hydration, rollout flag and their product telemetry event, the scoped direct-SSH reconnect/hydration options, and the now caller-less repos:listForExecutionHost and worktrees:listLineageForHost IPC handlers. feat(mobile): verified https pairing links; custom scheme carries no secret (#27475)
* feat(mobile): verified https pairing links; custom scheme carries no secret The desktop's copy-link now emits https://www.onorca.dev/pair#<code>, with the code only in the fragment. Orca Mobile claims that link as a verified app link and refuses any pairing code delivered through orca://, which any app can claim; orca://pair alone opens the scanner with an explanation. In-app QR scan and paste still accept the custom scheme, so older desktops and phones keep pairing. The confirm screen shows the desktop address and host key fingerprint before pairing. config/verified-links/ holds the apple-app-site-association, assetlinks.json and fallback page to deploy on www.onorca.dev, with a test that keeps them, mobile/app.config.js and the link builder in agreement. Part of #17397. Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(mobile): refuse pairing codes nested in or normalized out of unverified links The router unwraps expo-development-client ?url= links and normalizes dot segments after +native-intent runs, so an orca:// wrapper could still deliver a code to the confirm screen. Refuse any unverified link carrying code= at any encoding depth, and match pairing routes on decoded, dot-free segments. Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(mobile): escape the apostrophe in the refused-link notice Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(mobile): decode escapes byte by byte before refusing nested pairing codes An invalid UTF-8 escape made the whole escape run fail to decode, hiding an adjacent encoded &code= that the router still decodes leniently. Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(mobile): decode nested pairing links to any depth before refusing codes Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(mobile): ignore URL-stripped whitespace when refusing nested pairing codes Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> * refactor(mobile): decide pairing-link refusal on the router's own parse Stop re-implementing URL decoding. The guard now runs expo-router's own extractExpoPathFromURL and parseUrlUsingCustomBase, the functions its linking applies after +native-intent, and refuses any link from which the router would read a `code` param or reach a pairing route with a payload. A link the router cannot parse is refused. Release builds refuse expo-development-client wrappers outright. A property-style test walks wrapping depths, encoding layers, stripped control characters, case and unicode, and asserts that the guard never passes on a link from which the router would read a code. Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(mobile): match pairing routes on the top-level segment only A host link with a segment named pair was sent to the scanner. fix(sidebar): stop a removed folder workspace from leaving a blank row (#26376)
* fix(sidebar): stop a removed folder workspace from leaving a blank row A folder-project workspace exists only as its worktreeMeta row. When it is deleted while a terminal is still bound, the renderer keeps the row until its teardown runs, and a PTY reattach in that window stamps lastActivityAt through worktrees:updateMeta. setWorktreeMeta then minted a default row with an empty name, which the sidebar listed under the project name and which came back after every delete. The metadata IPC now refuses to create a row for a folder workspace instance that no longer exists. Fixes #22712 Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01XZXEdbC4RKp288k2gBzLUW * fix(sidebar): also refuse runtime writes to a removed folder workspace Move the existence check into a shared predicate that matches any same-id folder owner, so an owner at a different path on another host cannot bypass it, and apply it to the runtime's worktree.set path, where a resolution snapshot taken before the removal still returns the workspace. feat(runtime): accept a declared spawn intent from paired clients (#27452)
* feat(runtime): accept a declared spawn intent from paired clients Paired clients can now say whether a terminal restore is the pane the user is looking at (user-resume) or a hidden one (automatic-restore). The host forwards the intent to its fork gate, advertises terminal.spawn-intent.v1 so clients only send it to hosts that accept it (terminal.ensureAgentSession params are strict), and reports a deferred fork as terminal_spawn_deferred with its reason. No client sends the field yet; that lands next with the sleeping-pane handling. * fix(daemon): a claimed agent resume cannot declare itself interactive Interactive forks skip the gate, and paired clients can now declare intent, so the host keeps inferring from the claim when a request says interactive. * fix(runtime): clients may only declare restore intents A daemon kept running across an update still lets a declared interactive request skip its gate, even for a claimed resume. The RPC and local IPC now accept only user-resume and automatic-restore, and the daemon request boundary turns a claimed interactive into an automatic restore. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> |

refactor(ssh): connect fails for hosts orcad can't serve; remove the relay client path (#27214)
* wip: connect fails for hosts the managed server can't serve; remove relay session, deploy and relay UI * wip: delete relay-only client modules left unreachable, prune their tests and gates * wip: format * wip: exhaustive unserved message * wip: drop relay attestation test for the deleted ownership proof * fix: prune stale baselines; type the test transport stub * fix(ssh): census proves leftover relay leases; name the remedy for older terminals; translate every connect-failure surface * test(ssh): leftover leases defer to the host census * test(e2e): remove relay-path SSH e2e specs and their CI lanes * test(e2e): drop the auto-convert case that built its relay era through a live relay * test(e2e): mark relay-era browser and catalog journeys fixme until they seed a profile * test(e2e): seed relay-era browser and catalog journeys from a saved profile The three journeys built their old-version state through a connect without an orcad template, which now refuses the host. They now start from a seeded relay-era profile, so the first connect converts the host as an upgrading user's would. * chore(ci): drop shard timings for the deleted relay tests * test(e2e): carry a relay-era login cookie across the browser conversion; own every launch * test(ci): drop the deleted SSH layout oracle from its route * test(e2e): open the retained browser after conversion, retrying a pre-connect card * test(e2e): bind the relay-era browser partition before seeding its cookie A relay-era build always recorded the partition binding before a page stored data in it. Seeding the cookie into an unbound partition made the binding store refuse it (browser_route_partition_binding_store_invalid), so the retained tab showed the generic routing card and Retry could never clear it. fix(vm): a recipe VM's SSH root runs on a managed Orca server (#27366)
* fix(vm): a recipe VM's SSH root runs on a managed Orca server A recipe VM's hidden SSH target was counted as owned by another runtime, so every connect refused to deploy a managed server and fell back to the relay. Its runtime owner only records when the VM is created and destroyed, so it no longer blocks the deploy. The VM's workspace then lives on that server: the server adopts the provisioned root as its main worktree, and removing the project destroys the VM and forgets its server. * fix(vm): release the server of a relay-era VM that converted on connect * fix(vm): resume reconnects an SSH VM's server; removal stays on its own VM * fix(vm): removal and the remove dialog find a VM's server before the catalog loads * fix(vm): a catalog refresh failure never blocks a VM create --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> |

fix(shell): OS open actions follow the file's owner, not the focused server (#27165)
* fix(shell): OS open actions follow the file's owner, not the focused server Every shell open request (openPath, openInFileManager, openInExternalEditor, openFilePath, openFileUri) now carries the path's owning host. Main allows only a local owner, plus the SSH editor launch when the owner is that same SSH target, and no longer consults the focused server. The renderer reveal and Open-in checks drop their focused-server check to match. * test(e2e): name the owner on the local editor control open * fix(explorer): Open in follows the catalog owner for folder and host-only SSH workspaces The explorer toolbar and the source-control Open in menu took their SSH connection from the repo row, which a folder workspace or a host-only SSH repo does not have, so the route read as local. Both now derive the route from the catalog-confirmed owner. * fix(sidebar): Open in keeps the SSH target of folder and host-only SSH rows The row resolver now returns the SSH connection it resolved alongside the runtime owner, so a folder workspace or host-only SSH repo with no repo connection no longer reads as local. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> |

fix(cli): orca file open and diff open name their owner (#27154)
* fix(cli): orca file open and diff open name their owner The desktop's own catalog resolves the worktree for files.open/files.openDiff, so the renderer notification now says so (null) instead of leaving the owner unset, which let the focused server claim a tab the renderer could not place yet. * fix(cli): keep a paired server's ownership on diff open A catalog row stamped runtime:<env> names that server; null would route its diff through this desktop's git. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> |

Add "Copy sign-in link instead" for Claude accounts (STA-9912) (#26990)
* Catch Claude's sign-in link through BROWSER and wait 10 minutes for sign-in A hidden claude auth login now runs with BROWSER pointed at a small script in the account folder that hands the localhost-callback link back to Orca. Orca opens it in the default browser as before, or hands it to Settings to copy when asked. Windows host sign-ins keep Claude opening the browser itself. * Add Copy sign-in link instead to Claude Add Account and Sign in again * Only catch the Claude sign-in link when copying it Plain Add Account and Sign in again no longer set BROWSER, so Claude opens the browser itself exactly as before. A copy-link sign-in that cannot prepare its BROWSER stand-in now fails instead of opening the default browser, a failed chmod in WSL no longer stops the login, and a failed clipboard write shows the existing copy-failed toast. * End a copy-link Claude sign-in that gets no sign-in link, and simplify its plumbing A missing or unexpected link now fails the sign-in instead of leaving a 10-minute spinner. The link check moves to main and only tells the localhost link from the pasted-code one; the poll is a plain loop, the pending link exists only for copy-link sign-ins, and copyLink travels as a plain boolean. * Pass the started Claude sign-in to the copy-link helper and give its copy-failed toast its own key * Remove a partly written Claude sign-in script when setup fails |

Keep Chat UI users with a Terminal default on the terminal, with a chat mode switch in the upgrade tip (#26915)
* Keep Chat UI users who opened new tabs in the terminal on the terminal Before the chat upgrade, Experimental Chat UI had a separate Default view choice, and it defaulted to Terminal. The upgrade retired that choice so Chat UI on now means new agent tabs open as chat, which moved people who had kept the terminal default into chat with no obvious way back. On load, a profile saved by a pre-upgrade build with Chat UI on and Default view not set to Chat now gets Chat UI turned off, and is left out of the one-time native chat upgrade tip. The old key is stripped on the first save, so the migration runs once and a later opt-in sticks. * Update the saved-settings test for Chat UI on with Default view Terminal * Show the upgrade tip to terminal-default users, with a switch to turn on chat mode People who had Chat UI on with new tabs opening in the terminal now keep the terminal on upgrade, but they still need the tip's directions for moving between chat and CLI. They now get the same upgrade tip, plus a note that new agent tabs still open in the terminal and a "Turn on chat mode" switch. The switch shows when Chat UI is off as the tip opens and stays put while it is flipped. The tip is taller in that case so nothing scrolls. * Decide the chat mode switch from the saved tip audience, not the live setting The upgrade tip's 'Turn on chat mode' switch showed whenever Chat UI was off when the tip opened, so a chat-view member who had turned Chat UI off also got it. Main now answers with one tip variant (none, standard, keep-terminal) from the saved audience, and only keep-terminal shows the note and switch. Also moves the feature tip panel styling into a DialogContent surface variant and drops the Label restyle, and tests that the switch stays put after flipping. * Let the upgrade tip decide the chat mode switch from its variant The modal now passes the saved tip variant to the dialog, which decides the switch itself, so the dialog tests cover that decision. |

Phase 3.7: fix SSH/remote failures found by adversarial real-host testing (#26847)
* fix(remote-terminal): keep a reconnected pane's size after an SSH outage (P1-4) (#26625) * fix(remote-terminal): keep a reconnected pane's grid when its stale stream is reaped (P1-4) The host's width floor only handed ownership to viewers that had claimed since subscribing. A reconnecting desktop pane re-subscribes without claiming, so when the heartbeat later reaped the dead socket that owned the floor, the host reclaimed the PTY to its spawn size (120x40) and held the pane there. The owner's same-client replacement stream now inherits the floor, and a pane whose stream was reaped before it reconnected resumes ownership on re-register unless the host or another viewer claimed since. * fix(remote-terminal): host typing during an outage revokes the reaped owner's resume Host input reaches the PTY without a renderer viewport claim once the host has reclaimed its grid, so the orphaned-owner entitlement survived and a passive reconnect resized the host pane back to the remote grid. The host write path now clears that entitlement on driving input (query replies, focus reports and launch writes excluded). * test(pty): stub the runtime's host-input note in write-path handler tests --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * fix(remote): an oversized RPC reply fails that request instead of closing the host connection (#26624) Expanding a folder with ~80k entries on a managed SSH host produced a files.readDir reply over the 4 MiB encrypted-reply cap. The channel treated that as a transport fault and closed the whole control socket (1013), and the explorer rendered the failed folder as empty. - The WebSocket RPC transport now answers an over-cap reply with a reply_too_large error for that request id, so the channel never sees it. - files.readDir checks remote listings against the request's content budget and names the entry count. - The explorer shows a subfolder's read error on its expanded row. Finding: HH-2 (Phase 3.7 hostile-host). Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * fix(ssh): let a slow host finish installing the pinned Node runtime (HH-3) (#26631) * fix(ssh): let a slow host finish installing the pinned Node runtime The POSIX promote (extract, hash, self-test and publish the ~110 MiB node binary) ran under the 30 s default exec timeout. On slow home storage it timed out, the remote work kept running, and the runtime store lock it held stayed until the 20-minute stale rule, so relay rung A queued behind it past its own deploy bound. Give both platforms the 300 s promote bound and have the host release the store lock itself when the promote exits, with owner-checked releases so a late release never removes a lock someone else took. (HH-3) * fix(ssh): let the host release the store lock after a slow under-lock re-hash The under-lock re-check of a sibling-published runtime hashed the ~110 MiB executable as its own command under the 30 s exec default and outside the host-side lock release. On slow storage it timed out, the client correctly kept the lock, and nothing on the host freed it until the 20-minute stale rule, so later installers ran out their deploy bound. Run the re-hash and the conditional promote as one host command wrapped in the host release, and give every full-runtime hash, including the initial probe, the slow-storage bound. (HH-3) * test(ssh): count the combined under-lock re-probe and promote as one host command --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * fix(ssh): shell startup output on stdout no longer breaks SSH connect (HH-1) (#26617) * fix(ssh): fence captured exec stdout so shell rc output cannot break connect sshd runs the user's login shell before Orca's /bin/sh wrapper, so any startup-file stdout (fish/tcsh/zsh/bash echo, or a bare terminal-title escape) was glued onto every captured answer. The home probe read "banner\n/home/u" and connect failed with "Remote home is not a valid path". execCommand now wraps wrapped POSIX commands in a per-call nonce fence and returns only the payload between the markers; the SSH folder browser gets the same fence. The fence is the existing WSL captured-login-shell fence, moved to src/shared/posix-stdout-fence.ts so both transports share it. Finding: HH-1 (phase 3.7 hostile-host). Refs #8324. * fix(ssh): fence the login-shell Node probe and fall back from a noisy SFTP handshake The login-shell 'command -v node' probe ran unwrapped, so output from sshd's shell and the nested login profile became the Node path. It now prints a one-line fence every login shell parses, inside that shell. An external sftp-server is started through the user's shell, so startup output corrupts the SFTP handshake. ssh2 reports that parse failure only before the session is ready, so SshConnection.sftp tags it, and relay install transfers treat it as SFTP unavailable and stream over exec stdin. Finding: HH-1 follow-up (phase 3.7 hostile-host). Refs #8324. * fix(ssh): keep the stdout fence marker out of the command text The runtime-store inventory lists processes with ps, which prints its own script, so a literal marker in the script was read as the fence and the store GC skipped every pass. printf now joins the marker from two halves. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * fix(orcad): finish an abandoned update on connect, and refresh renderers after a main-side re-pair (P1-A, P1-C) (#26635) * fix(orcad): finish an update or rollback its client abandoned, and tell renderers about main-side re-pairs P1-A: a wake that finds the activation fence now runs crash recovery, which takes only a stale, previous-boot or exited-own fence. Recovery of an activation interrupted after the candidate launched resumes it: the candidate commits if it passes the readiness gate, else the activation is undone as before. P1-C: invalidating a still-linked environment's transport restarts its status owner, and a renderer that sees status under a newer pairing revision re-reads the catalog before applying it. * fix(orcad): a resumed update keeps the app version that started it Recovery that commits an abandoned candidate stamped no activeAppVersion, so an older desktop read the host as pre-tracking and downgraded it over state the newer build had migrated. The activate journal now records the initiating app version; recovery stamps it, and a journal too old to carry it is undone instead of committed. * test(runtime-env): answer nothing for the status restart a re-pair now triggers * fix(orcad): recovery leaves running an update server a too-old journal cannot commit A journal without candidateAppVersion was sent to undo, which stopped a healthy candidate that had already migrated state and then refused to restart the incumbent, leaving the host serving nothing. Refuse instead, keeping the fence and the candidate, until the operator accepts Restore. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * fix(terminal): a remote recovery never splices stale history above the new screen (P2-5, P2-7) (#26647) * fix(terminal): a remote recovery never splices stale history above the new screen A pushed remote snapshot (overflow recovery, seq-gap resync, first attach) is sent because the client's stream broke, so the pane's own history ends before that image. Since #26319 a screen-only image kept that history, splicing a stale block directly above the final screen with a silent gap of up to ~270k lines (P2-5), and a first attach to an older host left silent holes (P2-7). - Host: the ACK-overflow recovery serializes up to 1000 history rows. - Client: the seq-gap resync asks for the same 1000 rows. - Client: a pushed snapshot always replaces the pane's scrollback; the keep-local-scrollback path is removed. A screen-only image from an older host now shows only its screen, which is lossy but never misleading. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(terminal): a pushed image replaces the normal buffer over a live alt screen too Over a pane already on the alternate screen, an image that also ended on alt repainted only its alt frame and kept the pane's normal buffer, inferring the two had frozen together. Inside the gap the TUI can exit, the shell print and a second TUI start, so once that TUI exited the pane showed its stale history where the host had the missed output. A pushed image now always rebuilds the normal buffer and history from the host before entering alt itself. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(terminal): bound recovery history by link slack and keep pre-TUI scrollback under screen-only images A recovery that carries history now goes out only when the stream's ACK window has drained; under a sustained flood recoveries stay screen-only and the owed history follows once the client catches up, so snapshot bytes no longer outgrow the client's intake. A pushed image without history (scrollbackRows absent or 0) over a live alt screen repaints only the alt frame again, so a reconnect to an older host no longer wipes the pane's pre-TUI scrollback. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(source-control): Stage All stages every change when the listing hit the 1,000 cap (HH-4) (#26618) * fix(source-control): Stage All stages every change when the listing hit the 1,000 cap The status listing stops at 1,000 rows, but Stage All built its path list from those rows, so it staged 1,000 of 20,000 changes and the next commit was silently partial. When the listing is capped, Stage All (and the Changes header Stage all) now asks the host to stage the whole worktree via an optional scope on git.bulkStage; unresolved conflicts stay unstaged. Older hosts ignore the field and stage the listed paths. Fixes HH-4. * fix(source-control): whole-worktree Stage All needs a host receipt, skips shared links, and reaches mobile - Scoped stage sends no paths and requires a stagedScope receipt, so an older runtime or relay stages nothing and the client reports it instead of a silent partial stage. - Scoped 'all' skips Orca's shared symlinks (configured and really a link), matching the status listing. - The capped-listing banner offers Stage All, reachable when the visible prefix is entirely staged. - Mobile reads didHitLimit and uses the same scoped stage and receipt. * test(source-control): type the Stage All test stubs so lint and the mobile test typecheck pass * fix(source-control): match Shared Paths saved as ./name or name/ against git's spelling The Shared Paths setting keeps entries as typed, but git prints worktree paths without a leading ./ or trailing /. Stage All's conflict path compared the raw spelling to git's untracked list and staged the shared node_modules link, and an exclude pathspec ending in / made git refuse the add after tracked changes were already staged. Status listing had the same mismatch. getSafeRelativePath now returns git's spelling, so every caller gets it, including saved settings. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * fix(ssh): redeploy a managed server another desktop stopped; forget one whose host is gone (P1-D, P1-E) (#26628) * fix(ssh): redeploy a server another desktop stopped; let a dead managed host be forgotten P1-D: a connect whose linked server the host reports as not activated (another desktop stopped it) now goes on to the update check, which redeploys it in place. P1-E: add Forget (managedServer.forget, orca environment forget, Settings row) that runs Stop's local unlink without contacting the host; the verdict stays unverifiable. * test(ssh): type the forget test's hoisted store without an assertion * fix(ssh): never downgrade a stopped host; redeploy it mid-session and retry after a failure A stop now keeps the stopped build's Orca version, so an older desktop's reconnect skips as host-newer instead of starting an older server on a store a newer build migrated. A stop recorded without that version is not guessed at. A stopped host retries the redeploy on each connect instead of the once-per-version failure suppression, and a runtime call that finds the server stopped mid-session redeploys it before the call. * fix(ssh): rebuild the managed forward after redeploying a stopped host A redeploy can bind a different port than the reused forward targets. * fix(ssh): keep stop journals readable by older desktops and recheck version policy under the fence - The stop journal's recordAfter is the core deactivated record older peers compute; the committed record keeps activeAppVersion (which released planners already honour) and rolledBackFrom, rebuilt from recordBefore on recovery. - Auto-update re-applies its version policy to the record read under the host fence, and a census counted against another incumbent is treated as unverifiable. * fix(ssh): file a dispatched stop where older desktops cannot commit it, so their recovery never drops the version guard * fix(ssh): refuse a fresh deploy of an older orcad onto a host a newer desktop stopped The unlinked deploy path never consulted the stopped record's activeAppVersion, so a desktop without a link to the host could activate its older build over state a newer build migrated. Both the auto-update planner and the fresh deploy now apply one downgrade rule under the fence. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * fix(ssh): redeploy a managed server a pre-version Stop left; let a forced deploy run over a newer one (#26766) A stopped activation record without activeAppVersion is what every Stop on main writes, so refusing it stranded those hosts behind an unforceable policy refusal. Only a provably newer host is now refused; a forced fresh deploy runs this version anyway, and the refusal names both versions. Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * fix(remote-terminal): no keystroke lost, duplicated or split across a silent outage (P1-1, P1-2, P1-3) (#26630) * fix(remote-terminal): no keystroke lost, duplicated or split across a silent outage Remote pane input was fire-and-forget: keys handed to a socket that had silently died were gone, keys still in the 8 ms debounce at detection were cleared, and held keys were discarded when the auto-recovery window ran out. - New negotiated `inputAck` capability: the client names an input session and sequences Input frames (existing frame header `seq`); the host records the last applied sequence per (PTY, session) across connections, writes each sequence once and acks it with new opcode InputAck (18), sent only to clients that advertised the capability. - The pane keeps sent-but-unacked input and replays it to the same terminal on reattach; the host dedupes. Old hosts keep current behavior. - Debounced and claim-queued input at detection is held, not cleared. - Held input survives the 'disconnected' phase; the hold coalesces keys so minutes of typing do not hit the per-entry cap. - Banner copy no longer claims a one-minute retry window. Fixes P1-1, P1-2, P1-3 (phase 3.7 network findings). * fix(remote-terminal): never replay into a restarted runtime; keep Ctrl+C and validating paste in order - Host publishes inputLedgerId with inputAck; the client drops unacknowledged input sent to a different ledger (runtime restart with the same PTY) instead of running it twice. - A replayed duplicate is acked only after the original write settles. - Accepted input (Ctrl+C, Escape, paste) rides the sequenced stream and resolves on the host ack. - Keys typed while held queue behind a paste still in size validation. * fix(remote-terminal): parse subscribed capabilities into a typed shape instead of Reflect.get * fix(remote-terminal): ack only applied input; withdraw writes their caller gave up on - Host ledger records each write's outcome: a refused write is rolled back and never acked, so the client's replay writes it; nothing queued behind it runs or is acked. A write that threw is acked as delivery-unknown, so the client reports it failed and never replays it. - Paste and file-drop timeouts abort their accepted write: a copy still held for an outage is withdrawn, and a journaled copy is left out of the replay. - A batch of sequenced input keeps one endpoint and ledger, so a send that retires the stream mid-batch no longer discards earlier unacked input. * fix(remote-terminal): host writes sequenced input strictly in order and asks the live stream to resend after a refusal - The ledger admits only the next sequence; a refusal or gap answers with an InputAck resend request instead of WriteUnavailable, so the pane keeps its journal and resends on the same stream (no remount, no carrier bookkeeping). - Sequenced input uses the provider's settled write; an unverifiable handoff is delivery-unknown, not refused. - Replays fill given-up slots with empty input so the host can continue; the client remounts only after every resend backoff is refused. - Typing batched ahead of a paste goes out as its own sequences, so cancelling the paste keeps it. * refactor(remote-terminal): deliver sequenced input with standard go-back-N Replace the hand-built "block on refusal" bookkeeping with go-back-N: - Host: per (PTY, input session) the ledger keeps only appliedSeq, the highest contiguous confirmed write. Frames run one at a time in arrival order: a duplicate is re-acked, the next sequence is written and acked on confirmed success, and a refusal or gap is answered with a resend request carrying appliedSeq. No blocked state; every stream is equal. A settlement that proves no byte left is a refusal; one that may have written advances as delivery-unknown and is never retried. - Client: one journal keeps unacked input in order and resends from appliedSeq + 1 on a resend request (with backoff), on a new stream, or when acks stall. Refusals never remount the pane. Withdrawn pastes, stale query replies and over-budget bytes resend as empty slots. - The recovery hold pauses (keeps the rest) when a release is cut short by another outage, and keeps delivering typing after an accepted write a sequenced stream withdrew or could not confirm. - Add a seeded model-based test that drives the real pane transport, multiplexer and journal against the real host dispatcher and ledger through 2,000 random fault schedules. * test(remote-terminal): cover the refusal remount on a stream without sequenced input A sequenced stream now resends refused input on the same stream instead of remounting, so the end-to-end remount check negotiates no inputAck, as an older peer does. * fix(remote-terminal): escalate persistent input refusals, drop input once recovery gives up, and never report a lost unknown ack as applied - The pane falls back to its remount path when the host keeps refusing input past the resend backoff ladder. - Held and journaled input is discarded when auto-recovery gives up, and input typed under the disconnected banner is not held. - The host ledger answers a duplicate for its own sequence and remembers delivery-unknown outcomes; the client settles a write as applied only from its own ack. - The input model now requires a write reported applied to have reached the PTY whole, and covers a refusal that never clears. Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> Co-authored-by: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(remote-terminal): keep input typed past the auto-recovery window for the same terminal, within a bounded grace (P1-3) (#26832) The last round of #26630 discarded held and journaled input as soon as auto-recovery gave up, and refused input under the disconnected banner. On a real host a 200 s outage lost 102 of 120 keystrokes, although the pane reattached the same terminal on its own seconds later. Input now stays held for the same handle and incarnation while the pane is disconnected, for up to 5 minutes after it gave up. Past that grace it is discarded, and typing into the dead pane is refused, so stale keys never run at an arbitrary later reconnect. The grace is a timestamp checked when input moves, so a latched pane stays free of timers. Show pre-upgrade Experimental Chat UI users a one-time native chat upgrade tip (#26710)
* feat(native-chat): one-time upgrade tip for pre-upgrade Experimental Chat UI users Show the new native chat upgrade tip through the normal startup feature-tip flow, only to profiles whose saved Experimental Chat UI setting was on before this release. Main records that audience once, from the profile as saved by the previous build, and never re-derives it from the live setting, so later opt-ins, new installs and the future graduation stay excluded. * fix(native-chat): keep the upgrade tip readable and dismissed Focus Got it without scrolling and tighten the ja/es/fr copy so the title is visible on open. Show the tip exactly like other startup tips (no resume-dialog wait), keep the illustration's upward menu unclipped, and merge seen tip ids on save so a stale client cannot bring a dismissed tip back. * fix(native-chat): say "between chat and CLI" in French and pin the audience basis in tests |

Revert Claude per-account folders (#24434, #26405) before release (#26638)
Users with a saved Claude account were signed out of every Claude feature in Orca until they signed in again, and proxy setups (API key plus ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL) got 401s after signing in. Reverting before release to rework the upgrade path. The terminal daemon protocol moves forward to 43 so dev builds' v42 daemons with the claude function are not reused; v41 and v42 stay attachable. Nothing is deleted: per-account folders are left unused and the old saved-account store was never touched. |

Warn on slow profile saves instead of failing them (#26447)
* Stop timing out slow profile-state writes; warn instead Profile-state writes used to fault after 30 seconds. A stalled main loop or a slow disk could then drop the writer and show a "could not confirm your save" dialog, even when the write was still in progress. Slow requests now record a diagnostic breadcrumb and keep waiting for the worker's reply. Close waits for the worker to actually exit, and a termination request alone no longer counts as proof. Pane-alias and migration-listener changes now save only their own sections, not a full state rebuild. Quit teardown also keeps the profile admission held until the final flush finishes, so a pending write is no longer released early at the deadline. * fix tests * Warn when profile saves run slow Slow profile-state writes used to leave only a diagnostic log entry, so users had no way to tell that recent changes were not yet confirmed saved. The writer now reports when a save write passes the slow-warning threshold and reports recovery when the reply arrives. Writes are never failed or retried because of the delay. - Main keeps the current delayed/healthy status and publishes changes to the renderer, so a reopened window gets the correct state. - The renderer shows one persistent warning toast while a save is delayed and dismisses it on recovery. - Observer errors are logged and do not interrupt saving. - The web build reports saving as healthy because it does not use the desktop profile writer. * Fix save-delay toast dismissal racing with a re-shown warning The save-delay warning used one fixed toast ID. Sonner applies a dismissal a frame late, so a dismissal could remove a warning that had just been shown again with the same ID. The hook now tracks the ID of each delayed-save warning it shows and dismisses only that toast. A new delay gets a fresh ID. Add Sonner-level tests for remount, StrictMode cleanup, and recover-then- delay races. Harden the e2e spec with a paused clock and a retry around main-process evaluate. * Report slow profile revision checks and exports as save delays Revision checks and JSON exports run on the same profile-state worker as saves, so a slow one holds up later writes just like a slow write does. The save-delay warning only tracked write-* commands, so those stalls went unreported. Every command except initialize and close now raises the warning. Tests cover the export-latest path and assert the delay signal fires once with true before clearing. * Clarify slow-save toast to name profile storage The delayed-save warning said recent changes were not yet confirmed saved, which overstated the risk while Orca was still retrying. The real condition is a slow profile-state write, so the toast now names profile storage and says later saves may wait until that operation finishes. The copy is updated in every locale, and the unit and e2e tests that assert it are updated to match. |

Phase 3.5: fix the top SSH/remote issues at the root cause (#26483)
* fix(remote-runtime): stop arm64 Linux servers dropping clients every heartbeat (empty WebSocket write EFAULT) (#26200) * fix(remote-runtime): never write an empty WebSocket payload on its own (arm64 Electron EFAULT) Patch ws@8.22.0 Sender.sendFrame so a frame with an empty payload is written as its header alone. Under Electron on arm64 kernels with 39-bit virtual addresses, socket.write() of a zero-length buffer fails with EFAULT and kills the connection, so every empty heartbeat ping, auto-pong and close dropped the remote runtime with 1006. Wire bytes are unchanged. * test(remote-runtime): run the ws empty-payload guard on real Node Bun resolves 'ws' to its built-in client, so under the Bun test project the guard exercised Bun's implementation instead of the patched package. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * fix(orcad): ship the session scanner child so agent session history lists on orcad hosts (#26309) orcad built every forked child except session-scanner-service-entry.js, so aiVault.listSessions always failed on an orcad host. The resolver also skipped the adjacent entry whenever isPackaged was true, so shipping the file alone would not have been enough. - build every ORCAD_CHILD_ENTRY_POINTS entry from one loop and add the scanner - add it to ORCAD_ARTIFACTS so a deploy missing it fails integrity checks - share one forked-child path resolver (asar layout vs flat app root) between the watcher and the scanner - smoke-fork the built scanner during build-orcad under both runtimes Fixes #24105 Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * fix(remote-runtime): one owner for a remote pane's binding and recovery (#26308) A remote pane no longer latches in connecting on terminal_not_found, holds keystrokes typed during same-terminal recovery instead of dropping them, reports transport-owned retries so the pane is not remounted mid-retry, and no longer infers absence from an inventory that predates the leaf. Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * ci(e2e): move apt off the Azure mirror on runner images that use a mirror list (#26335) Ubuntu 24.04 runner images resolve apt sources through /etc/apt/apt-mirrors.txt, so rewriting only the source lists left package downloads on azure.archive.ubuntu.com, which intermittently fails ('Ign:' on every package). Rewrite the mirror list too, and retry the install once with --fix-missing. Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * fix(terminal): remote snapshot replay keeps scrollback it cannot replace (#26319) Desktop subscribers of a remote terminal received screen-only snapshots, and every pushed snapshot replay cleared the pane's scrollback with ESC[3J. A reconnect, a remount, or a recovery after a dropped frame therefore wiped history the host never resent. - Host: desktop subscribe snapshots use the same scrollback-row ladder as mobile, and SnapshotStart now carries an optional scrollbackRows field. - Client: a pushed snapshot clears scrollback only when the host says it carries history; screen-only images (scrollbackRows 0, or older hosts that omit the field) repaint the screen and keep the pane's history. Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(daemon): clean launch env, validate client frames, fit the socket path (#26306) * fix(daemon): clean launch env, validate client frames, fit the socket path - Drop Chromium's DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=disabled: marker from the daemon, its systemd-run scope launch and every PTY env (#25580, #21119). - Use the durable user-manager scope only when that manager outlives the caller: lingering on, or the caller already runs inside it (#24201). - Shape-check hello and request frames, and catch request rejections, so a malformed frame closes one connection instead of the daemon (#17841). - Move the daemon socket to a short per-uid private dir when the data root would overflow sun_path (#17840). * fix(daemon): validate a relocated socket dir before any connect, not just before bind --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * fix(ssh): keep crediting a PTY after its recovery delivery is canceled (#26341) A canceled recovery delivery released its source spans while the renderer and model could still settle them; the stale projection then threw on every later ACK, so the next delivery was never credited and the relay paused the PTY for good. Settling or transferring a span of a closed delivery is now a no-op. Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * fix(rpc): deny-by-default caller permissions and a scoped SSH bridge credential (#26337) * fix(rpc): deny-by-default caller permissions and a scoped SSH bridge credential Every RPC method now declares a required permission, and RpcDispatcher checks it against the caller's scope on every transport (owner, mobile, paired runtime, SSH bridge). The SSH relay bridge no longer spawns the client CLI with owner authority: each invocation gets a short-lived credential bound to its SSH target, revoked when the child exits. Without the new per-host opt-in, that credential reaches only its own host's terminals; with it, workspace methods but never desktop control, accounts, settings writes, skill install/share, pairing or host admin. Paired runtime clients need a pairing-time grant (orca serve --grant-desktop-control) for computer.* actions. Fixes #23835 Fixes #25259 Refs #18269 * fix(rpc): let a bridged SSH worker report to its own coordinator; allowlist paired-runtime permissions Without the per-host opt-in, orchestration send/ask/reply/check/inbox now pass when the caller is a terminal on the bridged host, binding pane key, payload Dispatch, run and recipient to that caller's own orchestration (recipient off-host only as the creator of its active Dispatch). Paired runtime clients get an explicit standard permission set; pairing-admin and desktop-control are grant-only. * fix(rpc): resolve a bridged SSH caller's own Run and Dispatch mailboxes before admission Mail routing stores a worker's follow-ups under dispatch:<id> and worker questions under run:<id>, so comparing the original recipient to the caller's terminal handle refused an SSH worker replying to its coordinator, an SSH coordinator answering its own Run's question, and explicit sends to the caller's own run:/dispatch: address. The bridge now resolves the exact mailboxes the caller's live pane and process read (as check does) and admits replies and recipients against those. * refactor(rpc): parse SSH bridge selectors with a typed schema instead of Reflect.get --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * fix(projects): remove a project only on the host the user picked (#26340) * fix(projects): remove a project only on the host the user picked removeProject now requires a hostId and matches that host's row exactly. The bare-id fallbacks (unique candidate, focused host) could resolve to another host's live project and delete it. Orphaned SSH purge and group deletion now pass each row's own host. Fixes #13071 * fix(projects): group delete removes only the group's member rows Same-id rows on other hosts outside the group were removed because membership was rebuilt from bare ids after the cascade cleared it. Capture (id, host) member pairs before deletion and remove only those. * fix(projects): never let a stale catalog widen a project removal to every host The renderer chose id-only `repos:remove` when its own catalog showed no same-id row on another host. A stale catalog (another window, a paired client, or a pending refresh) hid that row, and main then deleted every host's registration and saved workspace metadata. - The local catalog route now always calls `repos:removeForHost` with the owner row's host, for local, direct SSH, git and folder projects. - `Store.removeProject` refuses an id that rows on more than one host share, so no id-only caller can delete another host's row. - Setup rollbacks remove the just-created row by its host. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * fix(serve): load SSH targets on a headless serve; a user Quit only closes serve-hosted windows (#26348) * fix(serve): load SSH targets on a headless serve; a user Quit only closes serve-hosted windows - launchServeMode registers the SSH handler layer before RPC binds, so a windowless 'orca serve' lists and connects the profile's SSH targets (#25886, #8489). - Under serve, the app-menu Quit/Exit, tray Quit and renderer-recovery Quit close the desktop windows instead of quitting the process (#15537). Signals, supervisor stops, relaunches and update installs still quit normally; on macOS a signal reaches before-quit the same way Cmd-Q does, so the guard lives on the user commands, not in before-quit. * fix(serve): SSH profiles serve on Electron; native macOS quits and frozen windows no longer trap or stop serve - orca serve: a profile with saved SSH targets stays on the Electron host by default, since orcad has no SSH stack yet (#25886, #8489). ORCA_SERVE_RUNTIME=orcad still forces orcad. - macOS serve: Dock > Quit, app-switcher Cmd-Q and other native terminates only close the desktop windows (#15537). Signals, supervisor stops, relaunches, update installs and logout/shutdown still quit. - The serve signal listeners now reclaim SIGINT/SIGTERM/SIGHUP from Electron's native handler. Any signal that had a Node listener before app ready was left with Electron's handler, so these listeners never ran. - A serve user Quit closing a frozen renderer's window arms the same 10s ack deadline as a desktop quit, and skips minimize-to-tray. * fix(serve): stay on Electron when the profile's SSH targets cannot be read yet A valid older-schema profile is rejected by the read-only probe, and the selector took that as "no SSH", so a default serve before the first migration started orcad with an empty SSH registry. Fail closed instead. * refactor(window): type user-Quit close marks as a named window slice, not object * test(serve): pass the desktop-control grant default in the headless SSH launch fixture * test(serve): run the serve-selection SQLite fixtures in the Node runtime project --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * fix(terminal): keep the main-process terminal tail linear under TUI redraw floods (#26316) * fix(terminal): keep the main-process terminal tail linear under TUI redraw floods Full-width in-place row rewrites rebuilt the row string per character (O(width^2)), a long chunk past the line cap spliced the row array once per newline (O(lines x cap)), and multi-frame chunks summed every cursor-up so they fell back to the whole-tail path. Rows now hold mutable cells joined once, capped rows are dropped in batches, and the redraw window uses the net cursor reach. Fixes #11315 * fix(terminal): do not rebuild a redraw row the cursor only revisits Rows stayed cell arrays once touched and re-joined on every newline, so a cursor revisiting one wide row thousands of times cost O(width) per newline. Runs now splice into the row string, a row switches to cells only after 32 edits between snapshots, and cells are joined once and dropped. * fix(terminal): keep one cached row per chunk so unchanged redraw revisits cost O(1) A row now keeps its cells, right-trimmed snapshot and content end across newlines and only invalidates them on a real content change; identical writes leave it clean. Adds a work-accounting matrix over restore, the append path and live onPtyData, plus a per-character row oracle fuzz. * fix(terminal): return redraw rows to flat strings with cached snapshots Cells made every changed snapshot a full-width join, which was far slower than the old flat-string splice. Rows are flat strings again, written one run at a time; each keeps a cached right-trimmed snapshot and content end that only a real change invalidates, so identical rewrites and cursor-only revisits stay O(1). A wall-time test now times every review probe against a vendored copy of the old row model on restore, append and onPtyData. * test(terminal): read runtime leaf and PTY tail through typed members --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * fix(ssh): relay fallback runs Orca's pinned Node by default, never a host npm install (#26303) * fix(ssh): relay fallback runs the pinned Node ladder by default, never a host npm install A host whose connect falls back to the relay route now gets the A/B/C ladder (Orca's uploaded Node and prebuilt addons) unless it opts into Host Node. A refused rung C steps to rung D with an actionable reason instead of compiling native deps on the host. * fix(ssh): mark the opt-in Host Node relay runtime as unsupported on the SSH host card The relay fallback now defaults to Orca's pinned Node ladder; the host-npm path is reachable only by an explicit per-host Runtime or ORCA_SSH_REMOTE_RUNTIME override. When a relay actually launches on it, main publishes hostNodeRuntime on the connection state (optional, admitted field-by-field for paired clients) and the SSH host card shows an unsupported-configuration warning. * fix(ssh): keep the relay runtime ladder honest about what it cannot verify - NixOS's stub loader refusing Orca's generic Linux Node (exit 127, 'Could not start dynamically linked executable') is classified wrong_libc, so the ladder steps on to the host Node instead of failing the connect at rung A. - In plain SSH mode the shell provider answers absent only for shells it saw exit; a PTY id it never minted (one an earlier relay may still run) is unverifiable, never exited. - The rung D message offers Host Node only when the host's own Node refused the prebuilt addons, and calls it an unsupported configuration; a download, unresolved-host or Windows refusal gets no Host Node advice. * fix(ssh): keep the host-Node relay where the ladder can't judge the host A client without Orca's runtime artifacts (a dev, e2e or source build with no orcad template, or an offline client) refused rungs A and C with artifacts_unavailable, and the connect settled on rung D. That reason describes the client, so it now lands on the host-Node relay it had before the ladder, marked unsupported, and persists no host decision. A proved noexec still lands on D. Windows hosts have no rung B or C yet, so any rung A refusal there keeps the host-Node relay too. The rung D message is worded from the host OS: Windows gets no noexec-mount wording and is offered Host Node. * fix(ssh): a host-Node fallback with no Node settles rung D, and mutable refusals expire The host-Node relay the ladder chooses in place of D (a client artifact gap, or a Windows rung A refusal) hard-failed the connect when the host had no Node: the resolver threw a plain Error, which plain SSH mode does not admit. The fallback now proves host Node with a strict probe first; an answered "no Node" settles D with a classified, host-OS worded reason, and an unanswered probe stays a retryable failure. A gap no longer rewrites D to host Node once rung C proved host_node_missing. Mutable pinned-runtime refusals (missing_lib, security_software, and noexec on Windows) are no longer persisted and replay from memory for ten minutes only, so a repaired host gets rung A back. The in-memory refusal cache moves to ssh-relay-pinned-refusal-cache.ts. * fix(ssh): no host does worse than the pre-ladder host-Node default Restructure the relay runtime ladder around one invariant: A, B and C are tried first, and any refusal past them falls back to exactly the pre-ladder default, the host-Node relay marked unsupported. That covers an unidentified libc, a client artifact gap, Windows, mutable refusals and a C N-API floor the npm build would not have hit. Rung D is reached only when that fallback proves the host has no usable Node, or a proved noexec home would defeat it too. Strict host-Node resolution now treats only a command that ran and exited as an answer, so a refused channel (MaxSessions), session limit or timeout stays a retryable failure instead of a 'no Node' verdict. The launch reuses the Node the fallback probe found. Mutable refusals (missing_lib, security_software, Windows noexec) persist again with their proof time and replay for 24 hours, so a host that still blocks Orca's runtime is not re-uploaded to on every connect, while a repaired one gets rung A back. A table-driven test asserts the invariant per host class. * fix(ssh): every answered rung failure reaches the host-Node default, and D only past it Two shortcuts skipped the pre-ladder default. An answered but unclassified install failure (tar ENOSPC, an extract or hash marker, an unverified Windows promote, a self-test that failed outside every refusal class) aborted the connect on every attempt; it now steps down as a non-persisted install_failed. Only unanswered failures (abort, timeout, channel-open, session limit, an unconfirmed termination, SFTP connection loss, ssh exit 255) stay retryable, and nothing steps down once a relay launch was issued. A proved noexec no longer jumps to D: exec denial can be per binary (AppArmor allowing /usr/bin/node), so it skips B and C, which load from the same tree, and reaches the host-Node fallback. D now follows only that fallback answering with a failure, so its outcome is a superset of the default's by construction. The never-worse test is now the cross-product of every A, B, C and host-Node answer on Linux and Windows, plus named review cases. * fix(ssh): system-ssh upload failures and a broken cached runtime step down before launch System-ssh directory upload and system sftp threw plain Errors that dropped the host's exit status, so a remote tar ENOSPC or a Windows sftp permission refusal aborted the connect instead of stepping down. The remote side now throws SystemSshCommandExitError (ssh exit 255, signals and lost-connection diagnostics stay retryable), and a local tar failure is still blamed on the client rather than the remote tar that saw its truncated stream. The warm runtime check only tested that the verified executable existed, so a cached runtime that the host's exec policy or a removed library had since broken was launched and hung on every reconnect. The same command now also runs it and reports a refusal the way promotion does, so it steps down before any launch, with no extra round trip. * fix(ssh): keep the remote answer when local tar only failed writing to it When the host's tar exits early (ENOSPC, a refusal), BSD tar on macOS exits 1 with 'Write error' and no signal, so the upload rethrew the local error and dropped the typed remote exit, aborting the connect. The remote answer now wins whenever local tar finished, was signalled, failed after ssh closed, or reported a write or pipe error; a local tar that failed on its own input first is still the client's fault. * test(ssh): hostile-host cells allow read-only version probes, never installs; probe each Node once The noexec-home cell failed on 'npm --version': under the never-worse ladder a proved noexec reaches the strict host-Node fallback, whose probe asks npm its version before settling D. The cells now judge install and compile calls (npm install/ci, node-gyp, cc, make) and allow '<tool> --version' / '-v'. The probe ran twice because the login shell named the Node the path probe had already rejected. Candidate checks are now memoized per resolution, for the host-Node fallback and rung C alike. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * chore(i18n): regenerate the runtime-required English catalog after the main merge * fix(serve): serve on the profile the CLI selected, and refuse any other before the instance lock (#26424) Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * fix(remote-runtime): open terminal tabs reattach after a managed server update re-pairs the host (#26433) * fix(remote-runtime): a remote pane rebinds after a server update re-pairs its host A pane captured the host's pairing revision once, when it mounted. A forced managed-server update re-pairs the host under the same environment id, so every later request from that pane was refused as stale, and the refusal counted as fatal: the pane stopped retrying and Reconnect replayed the same stale revision. Each request now carries the current revision, a pairing refusal re-reads the catalog before the retry, and the pane treats it like lost contact. * fix(remote-runtime): close a stream left on the old pairing and ignore a 0x0 grid hold A stream that reopened before main re-paired stayed open while sendFrame refused its stale revision, so typed keys vanished. A revision change now closes it as recoverable so the pane rebinds on the new pairing. A just-restarted server also published a 0x0 hold that shrank the visible pane to one cell; holds with no grid are ignored. * fix(remote-runtime): a pane follows only its own machine's re-pair A re-pair under the same environment id to a different host key published its revision before the catalog retired the old tabs, and the pane recovered at the new revision, so its next call was authenticated as the replacement peer. The catalog now classifies each re-pair before publishing revisions: a replaced or removed machine's terminal streams end for good first, and a pane only advances its pairing along a proven same-host rotation (same registration and host key). An unresolved identity holds the pane until it is proven. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * refactor(rpc-permissions): Phase 3.5 elegance pass (#26471) * refactor(rpc-permissions): drop never-read incarnation and invocation id from bridge credentials * refactor(rpc-permissions): define runtime device grants once and reuse bridge scope fixtures * refactor(rpc-permissions): decide terminal host membership in one predicate and share the opt-in hint * refactor(rpc-permissions): parse bridge selectors once per call * refactor(rpc-permissions): admit and bind unopted bridge methods from one table --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * refactor(remote-pane-binding): Phase 3.5 elegance pass (#26470) * refactor(remote-pane-binding): keep the pane's pairing revision in one slot * refactor(remote-pane-binding): share one hold decision across the input entry points * refactor(remote-pane-binding): define the persisted-handle adopt once in attachPane * refactor(remote-pane-binding): build the pushed-snapshot meta once * refactor(remote-pane-binding): drop the test-only peerReplacedEnvironmentIds wrapper * test(remote-pane-binding): share the input and subscribe frame readers via stream fixtures --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * refactor(relay-ladder): Phase 3.5 elegance pass (#26474) * refactor(relay-ladder): put the host-Node fallback in the ladder before D The Auto ladder now lists legacy as the rung before D, so the step function is one rule plus the next rung. Deletes nextRelayRuntimeStep, the hostOs step context and the mutable hostNodeFallback flag (now a constructor-time laddered field). Windows still ends at legacy: B and C refuse there before any host I/O. * refactor(relay-ladder): one rung-D reason and message over reachable states D is reached only from the host-Node fallback, so its refusal is host_node_missing or install_failed. Merges the reason and message functions, drops three message branches that could not run, and folds noexecRemembered/noexecProved into one noexec field. * test(relay-ladder): one never-worse cross-product with a remembered axis Drops the named cases (each matches a cross-product outcome), the transport case that only checked the model against itself, and the third case the rank check already implies. Adds rung B's noexec answer and per-rung remembered flags for A and B, the only rungs that replay a cached refusal. * refactor(ssh): one answered-miss rethrow for the node resolution probes Four catch blocks repeated the same session-limit, abort and strict checks. They now call rethrowUnlessAnsweredMiss and keep their own fallthrough. Also drops a stale 'Caches nothing' comment. * refactor(ssh): share the host-answered system-ssh exit rule; flatten the upload throw cascade isHostAnsweredSystemSshExit owns the 255/null transport rule for both the upload pipeline and isAnsweredHostFailure. settleUploadPipeline drops a branch that could not run: a failed tar is judged once, then ssh, then pipe. --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * refactor(serve-daemon-misc): Phase 3.5 elegance pass (#26478) * refactor(ssh-pty): build obligation transitions behind one closed-delivery guard * refactor(build-orcad): table-drive the shipped worker smokes * refactor(daemon): pass scope probe seams as one deps object and share cgroup line parsing * refactor(repos): route every project removal through removeProjectForHost * refactor(build-orcad): type the worker smoke table for the type-aware gate --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@Mac.localdomain> * refactor(terminal-tail): Phase 3.5 elegance pass (#26465) * refactor(terminal-tail): share mulberry32 and compare whole results in redraw equivalence tests * refactor(terminal-tail): keep one splice ceiling at the onPtyData entry point --------- Co-authored-by: m4air <m4air@m4airs-MacBook-Air.local> * fix(terminal): bound the backing a redraw row can pin across chained erases (#26547) Each erase that keeps at least half the row skipped the copy, so a chain of them left nested slices pinning the original wide row. fix(claude): activate account profiles and remove credential replay (Step 4 of 4) (#24434)
Each saved Claude account now runs in its own CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR folder, so Claude renews each login itself and switching no longer replays a copied credential. A claude shell function routes every launch to the selected account; the terminal daemon protocol moves to 42 so new terminals get it. After updating, each saved account signs in once: typed claude shows Claude's own sign-in, old terminals show an in-app banner, chats and the status-bar menu offer Sign in, and a one-time toast explains it. Orca prints nothing into terminals. |

feat(native-chat): attach files to a structured chat on a paired server (#25146)
* feat(native-chat): a paired server keeps a store for chat attachments A structured chat on a paired Orca server had nowhere to put a file the client attached. The server now keeps a per-chat attachment store under its userData, filled through agentSessionAttachment.uploadStart/Append/Commit/Abort and read back for previews through agentSessionAttachment.read, behind the structured session gate and advertised as agent-session.attachments.v1. Nothing records cleanup as owed: a sweep re-derives what may go from the host's chat records and journal (unfinished uploads after an hour, uploads for a chat that never existed or that its journal never mentions after a day). The clipboard RPC's in-flight bookkeeping moves into a shared ChunkedUploadRegistry both use. * feat(native-chat): upload attached files into a paired server's chat store Main streams dropped or picked files (fs:uploadPathsToAgentSessionAttachments) and pasted images (clipboard:saveImageAsTempFile with agentSessionAttachment) into the chat's store on its paired server, reusing the file-import slice streamer and pinning every call to the pairing revision and server process. The browser client's paste takes the same route. * feat(native-chat): attach files to a structured chat on a paired server Pasted images, files dropped from Finder/Explorer and the file picker no longer refuse with "Local attachments are not available for remote sessions." in a structured chat on a paired server: they upload into that server's chat store and the chat gets only the stored path. Dropped files show as pending chips at once so Send waits for them; every attached item carries the server, pairing and chat it was stored for, and a send to anywhere else drops it with the existing "changed hosts" notice. Chips and transcript images read stored files back through the server, never from this machine's disk. An older server gets an update notice instead of an upload. The terminal-backed chat keeps refusing. * test(native-chat): type the attachment test doubles without bare casts * refactor(native-chat): keep the clipboard RPC on its own upload bookkeeping The chunked upload registry stays for the chat attachment store only, beside it. * feat(native-chat): claim chat attachments when the host admits a message A message's references into the host's attachment store are claimed in the same journal transaction that makes it durable (a direct send, a queued draft, a /clear carry). The sweep deletes an upload only after marking it in that database while no claim exists, so a send and a sweep can never both win: a client's send that names an expired or foreign upload is refused whole with the new attachmentExpired reason, before anything is recorded. This replaces scanning chat transcripts for paths. The store is now <root>/<upload id>/<name>, refuses uploads for chats the host does not hold, caps stored names in UTF-8 bytes and avoids Windows device names. The preview read goes through the protected bounded read and the request's reply budget, so an image too large for one reply is refused instead of closing the connection. * feat(native-chat): let structured Claude read the host's chat attachment store Attached non-image files live outside the workspace; the store root is passed as an added directory so the agent reads them without asking, the common pattern. * fix(native-chat): skip a dropped folder before staging walks into it * fix(native-chat): pin the browser client's chat paste to its server Every upload call goes to the environment the paste was meant for and checks its pairing and server process, as the desktop upload does; a re-pair ends the upload instead of storing the image on another server. * refactor(native-chat): let the host's claim be the only attachment check The composer no longer records which server and pairing each attachment came from, and Send no longer strips attachments it judges foreign: the host refuses an expired or unknown stored path when it admits the message, which also covers retries, Stop-restores and queued edits the client check missed. Previews of stored files route through the chat's own server by path. Removing a file's chip while it uploads now keeps its @path out of the draft. A dropped or picked file shows its name and kind on its chip while it uploads, with no separate progress toast, and files that did not attach are named in one notice. A rich-text paste into a chat on an older server no longer shows the update notice beside the pasted text. * chore(native-chat): keep the claim hook beside the draft consume and fit the line budgets The submission's claim runs in the same append hook as a draft's consume, owned by the queued-message collaborator, so the journal store stays within its size limit. Formats the new files and regenerates the runtime-required English catalog. * test(native-chat): pin the attachment store grant in the Claude launch, restore upload result types * fix(native-chat): create the attachment store at install and claim only exact store paths Claude drops an added directory that does not exist when it starts, so the store root is created when the host installs it, best effort. A commit keeps its upload in flight until the rename lands, so a sweep never takes a slow upload's part file. Only a path under this host's exact store root is claimed and required; any other mention of a store path is plain text and never refuses the message. * refactor(native-chat): reuse the newer-Orca notice and drop leftover attach options An older server's refusal to store attachments uses the notice every other write it refuses already shows, so one string fewer in every catalog; the attach callbacks lose an options parameter no caller passes since the provenance check went. * fix(native-chat): give a message refused for an expired attachment back to the composer Sending the same message again can never bring the attachment back, so instead of a Retry that always fails the message's text and images return to the composer, as a Stop's withdrawn message does, and the notice says what to remove. * fix(native-chat): keep uploads across a prompt, say why a file did not attach An upload that finishes while a prompt card has replaced the composer lands in the scope's attachment and draft caches, which the composer reads back when it returns, instead of the unmounted composer. The single failure notice names the cause the files share, such as the size limit. Rich text pasted into a chat on an older server no longer flashes an image chip: the chip waits for the server to take the image. A picked command waits, as Send does, while an attachment is still uploading. * fix(native-chat): keep a paste's upload across a prompt; pin the Claude grant hand-off A paste uploading into a paired server's store keeps its chip live when a prompt card unmounts the composer, and its result is filed for the composer's return, as a drop's is. A failure cause ending in full-width punctuation gets no extra full stop. A runtime test pins that the store root reaches Claude's launch resolver through the adapter. * test(native-chat): type the grant hand-off captures without casts * test(native-chat): pin that the composer files a paste's upload across a prompt * fix(native-chat): retry a held rename at commit and keep cut names Windows-safe A commit renames the part file with the Windows retry the app uses elsewhere, so an antivirus or indexer holding it briefly no longer loses the upload. A name cut to the byte limit is stripped of trailing dots and spaces again. The upload pump's result cast states why it holds. * fix(native-chat): keep attachments still on their way in the pane's attachment cache A prompt card unmounts the composer, and an attachment still saving or uploading lived only in that composer: one that came back showed no pending chip, so Send went out without the file and the file then landed in the next draft. Pending chips now live in the pane's attachment cache beside settled ones and settle there whichever composer is showing, so Send waits for them after a remount too. A stored file's @path goes into the pane's draft cache, which keeps it through an input-method composition and a remount. A rich-text paste's image is registered as a hidden pending chip before the server is asked, so Send waits for it from the start, and it shows only once the server takes it. * test(native-chat): a dropped file still uploading stays pending across a remount * fix(native-chat): reveal a rich-text image in a composer that came back; keep caret inserts A rich-text paste's held image is revealed through the pane's attachment cache, so a composer a prompt card remounted during the server's answer shows it rather than holding Send on an invisible chip. A stored file's @path goes in at the caret while the composer is showing and not composing, as every other attach does; only mid-composition or after a remount does it go to the pane's draft. * fix(native-chat): never evict a pane's attachments while a composer shows them or one is on its way The pane attachment cache is now where chips live, so its 128-scope bound passes over a scope a mounted composer subscribes to or that still holds a pending attachment, and evicts the oldest scope nobody uses instead. Protected scopes are bounded by mounted composers and attachments in flight. * fix(native-chat): never evict the scope just written when every older one is in use * fix(native-chat): keep the attachment store out of the RPC method table's imports The method table is imported far and wide (the SSH relay's CLI included), and the attachment RPCs pulled in the store, whose preview read loads modules that read fs constants at load: any test that mocks fs/promises without them failed to import. The installed store now lives in a small registry module; only the host wiring loads the store itself. * refactor(native-chat): the submission hook gets its own module Merging main added the operation receipt to the queued-message insert, which put journal-queued-messages.ts over the 300-line limit. The submission hook only uses the queued-messages object's public methods, so it moves out. * refactor(native-chat): fit the attachment sweep and paste upload into main's line budgets After merging main, the record store and the clipboard handlers each ran a few lines over the 300-line budget. The sweep now asks the record store whether a chat is recorded through the two lookups it already has (readable or unreadable) instead of a new id-listing method, and the paired-server paste upload lives beside the other attachment uploads. No behavior changes. * fix(native-chat): pending chips sit beside main's saved draft, which keeps server-stored images Main now saves a composer's draft (text and settled images) in one store that survives a reload or quit. This branch kept every chip, settled or not, in its own pane cache. After the merge the saved draft owns settled images and the pane cache holds only chips still on their way: they come back pending in a composer a prompt card remounted, hold Send, settle into the saved draft whichever composer is showing, and are never saved themselves, so a restored draft cannot bring back an upload as if it were attached. An image a paired server stored for the chat is saved with the draft as the real image (a pasted one is no longer turned into a "Not kept" placeholder), and the restore check leaves it to that server, whose claim at Send refuses one it no longer holds, instead of asking this machine's disk for a path that only exists on the server. Also: previews and the pending subscription move into their own small hooks to fit the line budget, the "local attachments" notice moves to the composer-target module so the attachments hook no longer pulls in the upload module's imports, and tests follow main's new mocks. * test(native-chat): give the claims test main's provider handle and message source * fix(native-chat): a paste still uploading dies with its tab or workspace A pasted image still uploading to a paired server sits in the pending chip cache, which by design outlives the composer and its tab. Removing the workspace deleted its saved drafts but left those chips, so the upload finishing afterwards recreated and saved the deleted draft. With the workspace's tabs gone it had no owner either, so no later workspace cleanup could ever remove it. A pending chip now records the owner its draft would have, resolved the way the draft store resolves one when the chip is added. Workspace removal and a user's tab close drop pending chips by the same owner, conversation and tab matches they delete drafts by, and a chip that settles after its chat's tab closed writes its draft under the owner it was begun in. * fix(native-chat): the claim type uses the journal's own SQLite type * refactor(native-chat): read the pending-image handlers off the composer's attachments Main's multi-file picker (#23956) and this branch together took NativeChatComposer over the 400-line limit; reading the two pending-image handlers the way the neighbouring ones already are keeps it at the limit. * test(native-chat): pass the launch-args resolver main now requires in the attachment grant test * fix(native-chat): grant the attachment store beside folders the saved Claude Arguments add Main (#25721) now builds additionalDirectories from the user's --add-dir arguments; this branch's attachment-store grant replaced that list instead of adding to it. Both are granted now. Moves the Claude session-id derivation to its own module to keep the resolver under the line limit. * test(native-chat): run the attachment store's SQLite tests in the Node runtime project * test(native-chat): follow main's attach ownership recheck (#25749) in the attachment tests * test(native-chat): a named upload chip still shows when the agent takes no images * fix(native-chat): a paired-server image paste failure keeps its error apart, as main's notice card does * fix(native-chat): the attachment sweep reads the chat list directly now that records have no import still owed |

fix(worktrees): a phone or CLI create puts the agent in the first orca.yaml default tab, as the desktop does (#26106)
* fix(worktrees): the host's create puts its agent in the first default tab, as the window does With orca.yaml default tabs, the window's create starts the agent in the first default tab: that tab takes the template's title and color, and the template's command does not run beside the agent. The host's create started the agent in its own untitled tab and then created every default tab, the first one running its command too, so the workspace had one tab more than the window's create. Now the agent's tab takes the first template's place. * fix(worktrees): title the agent's default tab as a tab, so the phone keeps the agent's status The host's create titled the agent's tab by renaming the terminal, which writes the pane's own title stamped to outrank every title the agent sets later. On a headless host the phone reads status from those titles, so the agent tab showed the template title forever and lost its working/idle status. The window's create only sets the tab's custom title. The host now titles the tab the same way: the window gets the tab's custom title (not counted as a user rename), and a headless host saves it on the tab and shows it on the phone until the agent titles itself. The pane's title is left to the agent. The host also finds a terminal's tab itself from its handle, so the create over SSH, which never passed the tab, colors the agent's tab too. Every default tab is dressed by the same step, so the other tabs' titles are now kept on a headless host as well, and a failed title no longer skips the color. * fix(worktrees): find a default tab through the window's leaf once the window adopts its handle The host found a provisioned terminal's tab only through the runtime's own pty record. Once the window's graph sync adopts the handle, that lookup misses, and the default tab's title and color would be dropped with only a log line. No create reaches it today (the tab is dressed before the window's first graph sync), but any wait added before provisioning would. It now falls back to the window's leaf, as renaming a terminal already does. Tests: the restart case now saves the title to a real session and rebuilds the phone's tabs from it; a create through createManagedWorktree with an agent and default tabs spawns the agent and the second template only and titles the agent's tab "Dev" without counting it as a user rename. * test(worktrees): drop type assertions from the default-tab tests Use a runtime subclass for the protected launch scope and provisioning host, a typed store and notifier, and typed mocks in place of casts, so the changed-code quality gate passes. |
