Calendar, contacts, files and settings still drew the left navigation
rail under Mountain View, so moving away from mail switched to the
default frame. They now show the Mountain View top bar too, without the
mail search and the menu button, which only make sense in mail.
Only the mail shell updated document.title, so every other surface sat at the
static value the root layout renders: the tab could not tell you where you
were, and on a multi-account setup it could not tell you whose mailbox you
were in either.
Each surface now sets "<screen> - <account> - <app>" through the shared
useDocumentTitle hook. Labels reuse the sidebar navigation translations, so
the tab and the rail never disagree about what a screen is called - no new
translation keys.

The leading-CSS strip emptied or cut ordinary previews:
"@media team, the brief is attached", "@Page can you check?" and
"@import the CSV ..." became empty, and "Reminder: your appointment
{date: 2026-10-01} is confirmed" became "is confirmed".
At-rule names now match in lower case only, only `@import` and
`@charset` end at a semicolon, an at-rule word with no block after it
is prose, and a selector colon must not be followed by a space.
The conversation view's collapsed cards, contact activity, the pro
folder tab and the list's row-height estimate now use `cleanPreview`
too, so they agree with the list rows. The test's invisible characters
are written as escapes.
On 1.0 a vCard export sent every blob photo through the avatar download
queue, a burst of 40 and then 6 a second, two at a time: about 160 s for
1000 photos. Avatars and print (which gives up after 5 s) waited behind
it, the Export button showed nothing, and a second click started the
whole export again.
- Export fetches the blob media of all cards with Blob/get
(`data:asBase64`), asking for the sizes first and packing the requests
to about 4 MiB. `urn:ietf:params:jmap:blob` goes into `using` only
when the session advertises it; without it, or when a request is
refused, the rest is downloaded one by one behind avatars and print,
which keep half of the download burst for themselves.
- The export buttons in the settings, the bulk bar, the context menu and
the detail menu show that an export is running and ignore clicks until
it is done.
- When the photo changes, the form rebuilds `media` on the card as the
server has it now. A logo or sound blobId from the list's older copy
made 1.0 refuse the whole update ("The following blobIds do not exist
or are not accessible").
- A new photo takes the key, place, `pref`, `label` and `contexts` of the
one it replaces, so it stays the photo shown on cards with several.
Removing the photo removes every photo the card had instead of only the
shown one, which brought up the next; logos and sounds stay.
- A card whose login has no client downloads nothing, instead of asking
the active login's server and remembering the refusal for two minutes.
- Photo downloads run at half the server's `maxConcurrentRequests`
instead of a fixed two.
- `invalidProperties` naming `media/...` also counts as a refused blobId
in media, not only `media` itself.
Stalwart 1.0 returns every photo, logo and sound in a contact card as a
blobId without a uri, including every photo Bulwark saved as a data:
URI. Bulwark read only `uri`, so avatars, the contact list and detail,
print, vCard export and the "has photo" filter showed nothing, and the
form sent `media` without the photo on every save, so editing a phone
number deleted the photo on the server.
- `ContactMedia` carries `blobId`, `label`, `pref` and `contexts`; `uri`
is optional, and `getContactPhotoRef`/`hasContactPhoto` read both.
- Blob photos are downloaded once each, at most two at a time and at a
paced rate, only while on screen, into an LRU of object URLs revoked
on eviction, account switch and logout. They share Stalwart's
per-account budget of 4 concurrent requests and 1000 a minute.
- Avatars look senders up in an index built once per contact list.
- The form leaves `media` out unless the photo changed, and otherwise
passes the other entries through as the server returned them.
- A new photo is uploaded into the user's own account and sent as a
blobId where the blob capability lists ContactCard (1.0). 0.16 refuses
blobIds in media and keeps getting a data: URI; a refusal at runtime
falls back the same way for the rest of the session.
- Print and vCard export download blob media first; duplicate and
cross-account move send the bytes instead of the source's blobIds.
- vCard export also writes photos whose data: URI names no media type
(`data:;base64,`, `data:base64,`), which it dropped before.
Companion to the calendar spec for the cross-account id-namespacing fix. Logs
in two accounts, enables the Pro shell, and asserts both accounts' address books
stay aggregated (same set, no loss/duplication/corruption) after switching the
active account. Contacts keep no persisted id-selection, so this verifies the
aggregated list stays correct/usable rather than a selection reset.
Adds a data-testid on address-book rows (address-book-item + data-book-name/
-account) and openContacts / addressBookRows helpers.
Calendar/contact aggregation left the ACTIVE account's ids raw while
namespacing background accounts (<localAccountId>::id). So an entity's id
depended on which account was active; switching flipped the id form and
invalidated persisted references (selectedCalendarIds), broke isSubscription
matching, and destabilised selection - the account-switch bug users saw in
Calendar and Address Book (mail was fine: it keys per account + stable
virtual ids).
Invariant now: an entity is namespaced iff it carries a localAccountId;
originalId always holds the raw JMAP id. Consumers/mutations already resolve
the raw id via `originalId || stripLocalAccountPrefix`, so they are unchanged.
- prefix* functions (calendar + contacts) always namespace + set originalId;
drop the isActiveAccount branch and the now-dead activeLocalAccountId params
(callers in the hooks + calendar-app/contacts-app updated).
- mapServerEventToStoreEvent namespaces the event id with the matched calendar's
localAccountId, so createEvent/updateEvent results are consistent.
- reconcileSelectedIds(): remap selectedCalendarIds by raw identity on every
fetch, so a raw->namespaced transition (switch, just-created calendar, or the
one-time migration from old persisted raw ids) keeps the selection instead of
resetting to "all".
- isSubscriptionCalendar(): namespace-robust and collision-safe - resolve the
calendar and match by raw id scoped to the owning JMAP accountId (Stalwart's
raw ids like "b"/"c" collide across accounts).
+9 unit tests (selection stability across switch/create, subscription
robustness, no cross-account false positives). tsc + eslint clean; 368 store
tests green.
Clicking an address in the app's own chrome - the recipient card, the
contact sidebar, the contact details - handed a mailto: URL to the OS
mail handler. In a webmail client that goes nowhere: the browser asks
which application should open the link, and the message is composed
somewhere else, if at all. Only users who registered Bulwark itself as
their system mailto handler got a usable result, and even then via a
detour through the OS into a new tab.
A new MailtoLink component sends the click to the built-in composer
instead. It stays a real anchor with an href, so "Copy email address",
middle click and assistive technology keep working; only the plain
left click is redirected, and only when a listener takes it - otherwise
the browser's own behaviour still applies. Modified clicks are left
alone.
The request reaches the mail page through a window event, the way
`bulwark:rate-limit-blocked` already does, rather than threading a
callback through three component levels and five call sites. It goes to
openMailtoDraft rather than the protocol path: an in-app click carries
its own context - the account being read - so the account picker that an
external mailto: needs would only get in the way here.
Message content is deliberately untouched. Plain text bodies render into
the main document rather than the sandboxed frame and their sanitizer
permits mailto:, so a document-wide interceptor would have swept up
untrusted links too; a component cannot be reached from message HTML at
all.
Popovers and dropdown menus across the app (sub-address helper, calendar
toolbar/color pickers, contact/template/attachment menus, rich text editor
color and table pickers, unsubscribe confirmation, composer send menu)
were anchored with physical `left-0`/`right-0`. In RTL locales those
don't flip with the trigger, so the menu detaches from the button that
opened it. Switched to Tailwind's logical `start-0`/`end-0` (and the
matching `rounded-s-*`/`rounded-e-*` corners on hover-action overlays)
so they mirror correctly for RTL locales (ar, he, fa) while staying
identical in LTR.
Cleans up the lint warnings the pre-commit hook surfaces, without any
behavioral change:
- Remove unused imports/vars/destructured props (parseISO, useEffect,
format, durMin, roles, daysInYear, ALLOWED_PLUGIN_FILES, continuesBefore,
isPushConnected, isSelected) and the now-unused parseDuration import.
- Drop three stale `// eslint-disable-next-line no-undef` directives that
no longer suppress anything (browser-navigation, smime/crypto-engine).
- recurrence-expansion.test.ts: replace 39 `as any` casts with a cast-only
`rule()` helper for partial recurrence-rule fixtures, typed access to
utcStart/utcEnd (now on CalendarEvent), and the source's
`Partial<CalendarEvent> & { excluded?: boolean }` for the excluded
override. No defaults are injected, so the expansion logic sees the same
partial rules as before (35 tests still green).
Remaining: 7 react-hooks/exhaustive-deps warnings are left as-is — adding
the missing deps changes effect/memo timing and needs per-hook review, not
a mechanical fix. tsc --noEmit clean; eslint 0 errors / 7 warnings.
Adds a "Send email to group" action (To / Cc / Bcc) that opens the composer
pre-filled with the group's members in the chosen field, preserving each
member's display name. It is available both in the group context menu (between
"Edit Group" and "Delete") and in the group detail panel's header (shown when
the group has at least one member with an email). The single-contact "Send
email" button in the contact detail panel uses the same path.
Routing is internal, not via mailto:. Contacts is its own route and the composer
lives in the mail route, so the handoff stashes the recipients
(savePendingMailto) and does a client-side router.push("/"); the main route's
existing consumePendingMailto effect opens the composer in the current account.
This avoids the OS mailto handler (which could open a different mail app) and
the protocol round-trip's full-page reload, which dropped the in-memory
per-account JMAP clients of a multi-account session (a logout).
- contacts/page.tsx: openComposeInApp(recipients, field) shared helper;
handleComposeGroupFromSidebar (deduped "Name <email>" members, empty -> toast)
and handleComposeContact; wired to the sidebar, group detail, contact detail.
- contact-group-detail.tsx: onComposeGroup(field) prop + To/Cc/Bcc header control
(shown when the group has emailable members).
- contacts-sidebar.tsx: onComposeGroup(groupId, field) prop + "Send email to
group" submenu between Edit and Delete.
- contact-detail.tsx: onCompose() prop; the button is no longer a mailto: link.
- mailto.ts: recipient splitter is quote-aware (reuses the composer's
splitRecipients) so a comma in a display name survives — still useful for real
OS mailto: links.
- i18n: contacts.groups.send_email{,_to,_cc,_bcc} and no_member_emails across all
locales.
Display names round-trip via formatRecipient -> parseRecipientList.
