The desktop app and an installed PWA had a row across the whole window
with the title and the window controls. That row is gone. The rail,
sidebar, list and reader run to the top of the window in their own
colours, and the controls sit in the top row of whatever is rightmost.
- `lib/window-controls-overlay.ts` finds and marks those rows before
paint, and they reserve the controls' width through
`--titlebar-right-inset`
- the rows and the rail are the drag area, everything clickable is
`no-drag`, and an invisible band lets a page with no row still move
- settings and the admin shell get a row only under the overlay, Pro's
tab strip and Mountain View's bar match the controls' height
- Alt floats the menu over the top left, in `window-menu-bar.tsx`
- skeletons carry the same marks, so nothing shifts when the app loads
An installed app had no title bar of its own, no way to save attachments
except a zip, and "pop out" stayed inside the page. A new window was a
second copy of the app that had to restore the session itself, and on
start-up that evicts any login made without "Remember me" from the list
every window shares.
- Title bar: `display_override` with `window-controls-overlay`, one
`--titlebar-inset` variable at the page roots and skeletons, and a drag
strip with the window title. 0 without an overlay, so nothing moves.
- Save all to a folder: `showDirectoryPicker`, asking the device policy
before the picker and before each file, with the zip as the fallback.
- Pop-out routes `/popout/message/<id>` and `/popout/compose`, on offer in
an installed app or when the desktop bridge has windows. Hidden in Lite.
- A pop-out borrows the main window's session and never evicts or starts a
token timer. Every renewal now takes a Web Lock, so two windows can't
send the same refresh token, which Stalwart 1.0 may treat as a replay.
- A draft moves to its window under the same id. A closing window hands
unsaved text to the main window to save, since its own request wouldn't
survive the close.
- Read state, drafts, theme and language follow across windows, and
`html[data-desktop]` gates the app-like behaviour in `app/desktop.css`.
Admins had logs and nothing else: client errors only reached the
browser console. An admin can now set a Sentry-protocol address (DSN)
for Bugsink, GlitchTip or Sentry under System > Monitoring, or with
`ERROR_REPORTING_DSN`, `ERROR_REPORTING_DSN_FILE`,
`ERROR_REPORTING_SAMPLE_RATE` and `ERROR_REPORTING_ENVIRONMENT`.
Bulwark Lite reads the same from `errorReporting` in policy.json.
Everything stays off while no address is set.
- browsers report errors from the error boundaries, window.onerror,
unhandled rejections and failed JMAP requests (method and error type
only), with route and JMAP method breadcrumbs and the chunks' debug IDs
- the server reports what Next hands to onRequestError and what routes
log with logger.error
- every report is scrubbed first: quoted text, addresses, URLs, file
names, tokens and the rest after the first line are removed, and the
server scrubs what browsers post to /api/errors again
- reports are deduplicated and rate-limited per session and process
- errors are counted per day for "errors today" on the admin page
- startup messages and audit entries go through the logger, so
`LOG_FORMAT=json` covers them
The admin drew its own copy of the rail, with a logo and only the app
links, next to a sidebar that signed out from its footer. It now renders
the webmail's NavigationRail (desktop and phone), which needs the
translation, theme and tour providers under /admin, so the admin layout
loads the message catalog itself; the rail marks Admin as the current
app for password admins too. The sidebar footer carries the admin
session links and the same about footer as the settings. Plugin and
theme rows and the detail header show the extension's icon from the
directory listing instead of a generic one, and a plugin's own settings
move to the bottom of its page, after availability, permissions and
versions.
The old panel kept its active tab in a store, so every page sat at
/admin, the sidebar duplicated the webmail rail by hand, and each page
was a stack of boxed cards with their own save buttons. Plugin settings
were only reachable through a gear icon in a row of five.
- one catch-all route for the whole panel; pages switch through
history.pushState, so `/admin/plugins/<id>`, the back button, bookmarks
and connector links all work without a route transition
- sidebar laid out like the user settings: back to mail, search over
pages and their sections, two group headings, change password and
sign out at the bottom; the phone shows a list, then the page
- pages use SettingsSection rows instead of nested cards, with one page
header, one flash message and one save bar at the bottom (Discard,
Save, Ctrl+S); the unsaved-changes prompt still guards leaving
- plugins and themes are lists of rows with a toggle each; a row opens
the extension's own page with its settings, force-on, permissions,
kept versions and removal
- overview shows stat tiles, server facts and recent activity
- old `/admin?tab=x` links redirect; the tab store is gone and the
connector registry resolves admin links to the page URL
- `NEXT_TURBOPACK_ROOT` overrides the Turbopack root so `next dev` runs
from a worktree with a junctioned node_modules
