Review of the local store export. A cancel, sign-out or wipe during the
final step still downloaded the file; now the sink takes the job's signal
and drops the Blob, and a job that outlasts the wait is forgotten when it
ends. Finished exports are in a list a later wipe or sign-out can empty,
also after the dialog closed.
- `localExportAllowed` uses `scopeDecided`, so a domain or group scope
can't be missed before the subject arrives. It's checked before the
save picker, in the same tick as the click.
- WebKit holds the final Blob in memory: exports stop at 1 GB, and a
larger choice or one over `storage.estimate()` is refused up front.
- An empty folder that refuses during a full listing counts as empty,
only when the store's own count agrees. Any other refusal stops the run.
- A picked file goes on an abort or an all-failed run; if it can't, the
dialog names it. Failure texts come from our strings, not the browser's.
- A selection keeps to the chosen folders on a retry.
The test that the organisation shows as the reason now flips the policy
through the policy store, because the old one replaced the guard and so
never reached the watch that a real change goes through. The spec moves
to an account of its own, dso-export: other specs running at the same
time work in ent-dave, and its folder went missing there mid-run.
The desktop app and an installed PWA had a row across the whole window
with the title and the window controls. That row is gone. The rail,
sidebar, list and reader run to the top of the window in their own
colours, and the controls sit in the top row of whatever is rightmost.
- `lib/window-controls-overlay.ts` finds and marks those rows before
paint, and they reserve the controls' width through
`--titlebar-right-inset`
- the rows and the rail are the drag area, everything clickable is
`no-drag`, and an invisible band lets a page with no row still move
- settings and the admin shell get a row only under the overlay, Pro's
tab strip and Mountain View's bar match the controls' height
- Alt floats the menu over the top left, in `window-menu-bar.tsx`
- skeletons carry the same marks, so nothing shifts when the app loads
A refused login used to delete the account's data, and with it everyone's
S/MIME and OpenPGP keys, also with offline off. The usual cause is a password
changed on another device, which Stalwart 0.16 and 1.0 both answer with
`invalid_grant`, so that lost unsent mail for little protection.
- A refused login signs out at once and hides the data. A new password brings
it back, unsent mail included. Otherwise it goes after 30 days. The sign-in
page gives a count and a date. The 24-hour timer is gone.
- `organisation.devices.wipeOnRefusedLogin`, off by default, asks for deletion
at once, of that account's own data only.
- The session limit no longer counts as a refusal on any route. It hides the
data and says nothing.
- A wipe runs under a Web Lock, tells other windows when it starts and ends,
and queues its report before deleting anything. It reports only once the
deletion worked and no plugin database is left.
- More goes with a wipe: Pro tabs, search history, Files and WebDAV state,
templates, pop-out drafts, shown notifications, push state, and Web Push
with the last account.
- The unsent count is per account, and unknown rather than 0 when the store
can't say. A new row is checked against the account that asked, and a
sign-out drops its row.
Existing tests changed because the rule did: `auth-store-keep-local.test.ts`
expected a wipe on `invalid_grant` and at the session limit, and
`device-wipe.test.ts` expected shared keys to go on a refused login.
Until now a lost laptop kept its offline mail for as long as anyone could
open it, and an account whose login the server had ended kept its copy too.
- `lib/devices`, `app/api/devices`: browsers with offline on and desktop
apps register, in a durable collection with no expiry. A check-in goes
by a per-device secret, so a revoked device still hears its wipe.
- `app/api/admin/devices` and the org devices page: wipe one device or all
of a user's, with audit entries for each request and each confirmation.
- `lib/offline/device-wipe.ts`: a start finishes any wipe cut short, then
waits up to a second for the instance before showing the local copy. A
wipe takes the store, keys, plugin databases and handoffs, signs out,
and reports back, again at the next contact if the report failed.
- `lib/jmap/client.ts`, `stores/auth-store.ts`: only `invalid_grant`, the
session limit, or a 401 lasting past a re-auth count as refused. A 500,
a proxy page or an outage never do.
- Settings: "Remove everything from this device", with a confirmation.
`lib/shared-store/__tests__/import-data.test.ts` changes its assertion
because it lists every collection the import copies, and `devices` is new.
The lock is off by default, and an OS policy can require it and set the
timeout. It locks after a time without use counted across all windows and
tabs, on OS screen lock in the desktop app, and from Lock now.
Locking saves open composers, stops the outbox at its next message, closes
the store and stops its worker with every key, then reloads the page, so
nothing of the old page stays in reach. The new page holds the app back at a
Suspense boundary until someone unlocks. Pop-outs get no session while
locked, push notifications name nobody, and subjects leave plain storage.
One random lock key wraps each account's key as a layer. The PIN wraps the
lock key with PBKDF2 at 600,000 iterations, with a wait after wrong tries
that a reload doesn't reset. A passkey with PRF and the desktop's OS storage
wrap it too. Details and limits are in the decisions file.
A persisted account id with no subject yet read as decided: Everyone's
noOffline wiped mail a group scope allowed, and a wider scope went out at
every reload. A public, partial policy counted as the organisation's word,
and turned on the desktop default in a forbidding organisation.
- an organisation's cap on one file now binds a pin
- Clear and the off switch read what would be lost when asked, messages,
changes and drafts, and Clear waits for a connection
- turning one account off survives the last one going off, and off then on
no longer warns of an eviction
- a tab that takes over the store sends no scope until it has heard the policy
- a dropped account is judged by what applies to anyone
- a choice reaches the store once it settles; progress announces phases only
- restored Pro tabs ask for their titles
One attachment scope: the kept-attachments code, which takes chunks with a
file and spares pinned mail. A draft only on this device stays through a
tightened window. Mail's budget still gives way to what Files keeps.
The flush keeps one `outbox.dropOrphans` caller, the mail branch's daily
one with its 7 days, and drafts' own query says what's needed, so
`addHeldFileSource` and its test are gone. `unsentCount` counts local
drafts, and a draft a waiting send names counts once. The scope check in
`recordBlob` and the permanent-status rule moved to
`lib/store/mail/attachments.ts`, with tests.
Eviction now goes by the base's signal: `storeLost` and the `store-reset`
notice, with `bulwark-store-opened` as the marker and `prune-files` for files
with no key. The storage page and the lost count hang off that. What a user
picks is stored under `bulwark-offline-scope`, the key `offlineScopeFor`
reads, and `email-snapshot` follows the base's rule. `OfflineEnabled` is read
from the desktop bridge when it's there.
Review of the pop-out work found ways to lose text, a wrong sign-out and
changes reaching ordinary browser tabs.
- Drafts: a closing window hands text over only to a main window holding
its login, and asks instead when the last save failed, the browser is
offline, a save is running or plugins could still have a say. A failed
rescue goes to "Continue draft". The opening window lets go only once
the composer is on screen, also for Edit draft in a message window.
Send options travel with the draft. Closing during a send asks first.
- Sessions: answers are encrypted for the window that asked, and only a
window holding the login answers. A renewal queued on the lock can be
called off by a sign-out, signs nobody out once its account is gone, and
takes the cached token after waiting (Rauthy `nbf`, #552).
- Ordinary tabs run none of the host. No lock is held for life.
- A message window hides after a refused session and waits for its
folders; a composer stays on screen with its text. Another tab dropping a
login it couldn't restore no longer closes pop-outs.
- Plain-text mail stays selectable in the desktop app. Folder save renames
reserved and shell names and skips one refused name. All display-mode
checks know the overlay. The attachment bar keeps to one row.
The earlier test that accepted text being gone after a failed rescue now
asserts that it reaches the "Continue draft" slot.
Any site could POST a form to the share target on load: with no clicks
the composer opened with its subject and file, and autosave stored a
real draft on the server 2 seconds later. The worker can't see where a
POST came from, and Chromium's link capturing accepts form submissions,
so an installed-app window proves nothing either.
- every share landing now asks first, in every window and browser; a
text landing address gets the same question. Nothing goes up before
the answer.
- handed-in text and files are the composer's starting state: no
autosave, page-close save or sign-out flush before the first real
edit.
- the worker ignores frames, keeps at most 5 entries and 100 MB for 15
minutes, sweeps on activate, on each share and from a page timer,
and seals what it keeps with a key passed in the landing fragment.
Offline wipes clear it too.
- the server fallback uses the fragment and caps by encoded length:
3000 Japanese characters made a 27 KB `Location` and a 431.
- a second compose handoff waits until the composer closes, also one
set aside by reading a message, where it used to replace the first.
- a launch leaving the mail page saves what was just typed first.
- an expired handoff or a missing stored file now says so; shares get
the control-character stripping and limits of `parseMailto`.
Existing tests changed because the landing moved from the query to the
fragment, stored entries gained a sealed part, and a share now asks
first.
An installed app had no title bar of its own, no way to save attachments
except a zip, and "pop out" stayed inside the page. A new window was a
second copy of the app that had to restore the session itself, and on
start-up that evicts any login made without "Remember me" from the list
every window shares.
- Title bar: `display_override` with `window-controls-overlay`, one
`--titlebar-inset` variable at the page roots and skeletons, and a drag
strip with the window title. 0 without an overlay, so nothing moves.
- Save all to a folder: `showDirectoryPicker`, asking the device policy
before the picker and before each file, with the zip as the fallback.
- Pop-out routes `/popout/message/<id>` and `/popout/compose`, on offer in
an installed app or when the desktop bridge has windows. Hidden in Lite.
- A pop-out borrows the main window's session and never evicts or starts a
token timer. Every renewal now takes a Web Lock, so two windows can't
send the same refresh token, which Stalwart 1.0 may treat as a replay.
- A draft moves to its window under the same id. A closing window hands
unsaved text to the main window to save, since its own request wouldn't
survive the close.
- Read state, drafts, theme and language follow across windows, and
`html[data-desktop]` gates the app-like behaviour in `app/desktop.css`.
Review of the notification actions. With a plugin that may stop a move
or read change, or a silent tab holding the login, the message now
opens instead of the route acting. The route answers 401 under a
session limit, and neither path touches a message since moved to Trash
or Junk. A tab that thawed declines an old click, Archive follows the
gate of the notification's login and files into a shared-out Archive
as the app's button does, Reply opens a composer in the Pro shell, the
route retries once when another client made the folder first and
leaves no empty folder behind, and logins match however the server
address is written.
Two assertions of this feature's own tests change: the route answers
401, not 403, when a login's scopes can't be worked out, since that now
also covers session limits; a tab's message to the page now carries
`at`.
The Pro shell's mail surface now reads a parked link's query from the
handoff: the address bar may have none by its first render, which lost
`?slot=` and `?owner=` there too.
The IndexedDB cache, its crypto, the responder and the page-side sync
go. lib/offline keeps its structure, policy, wipes, sign-out gates and
notices; answers, the outbox and sync now live in lib/store, in a worker
behind lib/store/client/api.ts.
What users get besides that:
- every folder is kept, not just the Inbox and opened ones
- delete for good and empty trash work offline
- a change the server refuses, or that meets a message changed on
another device, is shown instead of dropped
- a send whose response got lost is looked up by a Message-ID fixed when
it was queued, then finished, submitted or sent again
- with the store on, a start paints from the local copy, then connects
An account the app drops by itself no longer wipes its data: only a
sign-out or an explicit removal does. The outbox of the old database
moves over once, in lib/offline/migrate-legacy.ts, and the old database
goes only after the store committed. `isNetworkFailure` now counts
timeouts and proxy 5xx. Sends and outbox requests are never answered
from the device.
Tests moved with the code: cache.test.ts and responder.test.ts are
replaced by lib/store/__tests__/, and review-fixes.test.ts, outbox.test.ts
and client-fallback.test.ts now run the real engine on node:sqlite.
Changed assertions: an uncertain send is looked up rather than left alone
forever, destroy and empty trash are queued rather than refused, and #9
(opened folders) became "a folder the server deleted goes", since all
folders are kept.
A notification for one message gets buttons where the browser has room
for them, and a click on its body works as before. The service worker
has no login, so an open tab takes the action first, through the store
actions. With no tab open a new same-origin route, /api/push/action,
does Mark read and Archive with the context cookie. When the cookie is
gone, the token has expired or the login can't be told apart, the
message opens in the app instead. Reply opens the composer through a
`?reply=1` link, with any text typed on the notification.
- `public/sw.js`: buttons, asking open tabs, the route, `sync` handling
- `app/api/push/action`: same-origin, checks the login and the account,
honours the admin's Archive gate, files by the mirrored archive mode
- `lib/pwa-notify`: the page's side, the mirror for the worker, and
`requestOutboxSync`, which the offline queue calls
- Background Sync, thin version: a `sync` event tells open tabs to flush
Two push-preview-route assertions change: they match the whole answer
for a named message, which now also carries `login`, what the action
route checks so a stale notification can't act on whoever holds the
cookie slot now.
