Introduce SDK 0.4, manifest v3, protocol v4, the isolated plugin runtime,
and cpr-plugin packaging CLI for independently maintained plugins.
Support installation, permissions, one active configuration per plugin,
version-specific settings, rollback, management pages, and CLI extensions.
Isolate plugin failures so native gateway startup and requests remain available.
Keep provider registration and UI choices fixed to built-in OpenAI and xAI.
Support nine extension capabilities with permission-scoped model and account
callbacks to the host.
Unify plugin settings and version management, support plugin icons,
and improve narrow layouts. Use the fixed GitHub UI dependency and pnpm 12
for standalone frontend and container builds. Reduce runtime test packaging
cost and align preparation modules with the repository layout.

Add session-scoped Codex configuration and CCSwitch import for key holders. Persist table-column ordering with drag animations and refine key, quota, and usage layouts.
Validated with 395 gateway-api integration tests, Rustfmt, and strict Clippy for gateway-api and gateway-admin. Frontend validation is left to the maintainer as requested.

Document one-click installation, consolidate manual deployment instructions, and describe current API and architecture contracts. Keep applicable configuration and upgrade guidance without recording implementation history.

Add opt-in account capacity cooldown, recovery probes, and atomic adaptive concurrency updates. Include overload and slow_down in Smart scheduling feedback, expose rate-limit reasons, and keep probe results fenced by cooldown generation.
Exclude diagnostic probes and local connection failures from capacity evidence. Default auto-freeze to disabled and preserve explicitly saved settings with a forward migration.

* feat(auth): add API key workspace
Add persistent API key sessions and enforce admin/key authorization boundaries. Expose key-scoped quotas, trends, health, and paginated usage records through server-projected data.
Share the application shell, system overview, and usage views between admin and key sessions, reorganize frontend domains around view ownership, and omit account, provider, and authentication details from the key workspace.
BREAKING CHANGE: Browser authentication now uses /api/auth/* and cpr_session; existing browser sessions must sign in again.
Validated frontend lint, type checking, production build, backend workspace tests, and live authenticated key views.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
* feat(console): refine key workspace experience
Unify role-aware console routes and use mode/role in authentication contracts.
Reuse request state, stable pagination and performance projections across workspaces.
Refine quota cards, usage panels, empty states and key-aware theme previews.
Skip session restoration on login and retain form inputs until unmount.
Keep the full health timeline grid visible without samples.

* feat(key-usage): replace shared workspace with focused usage page
Preserve unified admin/key authentication, restore admin pages, and remove the previous client workspace implementation. Add a scoped usage page with metrics, trends, budgets, request logs, and section loading placeholders.

Collapse the completed response ID, service tier, and quota cooldown changes into the fresh-database baseline. Refresh the migration contract and state consistently that cross-major online upgrades are unsupported.

Each document was verified claim by claim against the source. Corrections
that mattered: client API keys have no per-key model scoping; admin
requests never need to send x-request-id and the configurable header name
does not apply to admin authentication; GET /v1/models serves two distinct
response shapes depending on client_version; the crate dependency rules
are convention rather than machine-enforced across all crates; the HTTP
server and worker runtime live in gateway-host, not apps/gateway; the
OpenAI path forwards upstream bytes verbatim over both SSE and WebSocket
while xAI translates between the Grok and Responses wires. Document the
graceful-shutdown budget, the CORS contract, the migration freeze rule,
and the integration-test environment variables, and drop the stale login
throttling references.

The release body ships on every future release, so a hardcoded "from
2.x" would be stale by 4.0. State the invariant instead: schema and
configuration are compatible within a major only, and self-update refuses
cross-major targets from 3.0 on.
Co-authored-by: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com>
The runtime cross-major gate only exists in 3.x binaries; a 2.x admin UI
happily offers the one-click update that produces a non-starting service.
State the clean break in the three places a 2.x operator actually sees
before upgrading: the top of every 3.x GitHub Release body, the README
operations section, and the deploy README upgrade section, each with the
fresh-deployment path (new .runtime/, re-import or re-authorize accounts
and client keys).
