Preserve Document during argument conversion so invalid state checks and GET/HEAD requests do not invoke string coercion. Add 300 assertions covering native Document objects, coercion getters, altered prototypes, and non-native lookalikes.
Validation: cargo fmt --all; cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets --all-features -- -D warnings; cargo nextest run --no-fail-fast (18273 passed, 13 skipped).
