An empty commit message field now starts with the file `commit.template`
names (any git config level; `~/` and repository-relative paths resolve
as git resolves them), without its `#` comment lines, since commits keep
the message as written. It is filled when the repository opens or
changes and when a commit clears the field; a typed message is never
replaced, and a prepared merge / cherry-pick / revert message still
takes precedence.
Fixes#1285
Gradle prints only failed tests, so the live test tree only filled in
after the run from the XML reports, and stayed empty when the test task
was UP-TO-DATE and wrote no new reports.
Gradle test runs now get an init script that reports each test's start,
output, failure (with the stack trace), skip and finish as TeamCity
service messages and keeps test tasks from being UP-TO-DATE. The console
hides those lines; the JVM parser turns them into `[class, method]`
results, named as in the XML reports, and drops Gradle's own repeated
`Class > test() FAILED` lines. Tests the run already reported keep their
output instead of getting the report's copy appended. The TeamCity
message parsing moves out of the PHPUnit parser so both share it.
Fixes#1268
Run or Debug on a Python file started it as a script
(`python src/tasks/cli.py`), so a module of a package that imports
relatively (`from .models import TaskList`) always failed with
"attempted relative import with no known parent package".
A file with relative imports now runs as `python -m package.module`
from the directory above its top package (the enclosing directories
with `__init__.py`, read once and re-read when one is added or
removed), with a venv-relative interpreter resolved against the project
root. Files without relative imports still run as scripts.
Removing a project from the workspace left its traces in Services: its run sessions, temporary configurations, remembered runs and type groups that now said there were no configurations. While the same project stays open, the run feature now watches the workspace member list and, per removed member, stops and forgets its sessions, drops its temporary configurations, reloads the configurations, removes the added types left empty and clears its remembered runs.

Settings › Build Tools › Maven gets Use Maven Daemon (mvnd) and a Maven Daemon home path. With it on, maven_command (the one launcher point for sync, goals and run configurations) resolves mvnd from the configured home, $MVND_HOME, PATH, Homebrew or SDKMAN instead of mvn / mvnw; it falls back to mvn, with a logged warning, when mvnd is missing or the project JDK is older than the Java 17 its daemon needs. Sync passes -T1 so the daemon's parallel build doesn't interleave dependency:tree output.

A finished run session's tab keeps its configuration's own icon instead of the green run arrow (a failed exit still shows the error icon), and the run panel's toolbar gets a Debug button next to Rerun that starts the same configuration under the debugger (in Services, a debug session reruns its debugger launch).

The read-only previews beside Problems, Show Usages and TODO results are syntax-coloured from one whole-file parse (capped for very large files), so a line inside a block comment or a multi-line string is coloured as such; the pane renders plain first and recolours when the parse lands. SourcePreview takes the colouring as a colorize prop (the editor's previewColors), keeping src/ui free of editor imports, and the tok-* colours live once in global.css instead of a copy per view, with the theme's comment style.

Agent replies only styled paragraphs, lists and code, so tables, headings, quotes, rules, images and task lists fell back to browser defaults: a 26px h1, a quote indented 40px, table columns squeezed to a few letters by overflow-wrap. They now get chat-sized styles from tokens; wide tables scroll sideways.

Markdown from comments, hovers, agent replies and files renders into the IDE's own document, so a raw <style> restyled the whole IDE and <form> / style= reached the page. Every Markdown sanitizer (LSP hovers and comments, agent messages, Markdown preview) now forbids <style>, <form> and the style attribute; agent messages also drop data-* written in a reply, since their click handlers trust data-copy / data-path. align, width and <details> stay.

Gradle's console names a test class by its simple name and a JUnit 5
method by its display name (`method()`), while its XML reports use the
qualified class and the method name. After a run the test tree showed
each class twice, counted the failure twice, and the report's copy of
the failing test had no source location.
Console results are now moved under the reported class (when the simple
name is unambiguous), Gradle method names drop the empty `()`, and the
report's stack frame is matched for Kotlin names with spaces and frames
behind a class loader prefix (`app//`).
Git › Show History for Selection, as in IDEA: from Git › Current File and the editor's Git menu it opens a tab with only the commits that changed the selected lines (or the caret line), newest first, and the block before and after each commit in the diff viewer. Only Show History for the whole file existed before. git log -L tracks the lines across renames; the selection is first mapped through unsaved and uncommitted edits to HEAD's lines, and those edits come first as Local Changes. The query is its own ide-vcs module and cancellable command (vcs_block_history), read-only and allowed in Restricted Mode (--no-ext-diff --no-textconv).

Intelephense checked PHP code against its default 8.5, whatever version the project targets. Settings › Languages & Frameworks › PHP gets a PHP language level, Auto (default: composer.json config.platform.php, else the lowest version require.php allows) or 5.6–8.5, sent as environment.phpVersion; nothing is sent without a requirement. Intelephense applies the version only to documents it parses after reading its configuration, so servers that opt in (resync-on-configuration, Intelephense only) get their open documents again right after workspace/configuration is answered (new jsonrpc Handler::after_response), and Intelephense keeps one index per level because it fixes the built-in functions when it indexes. A change to a root or workspace member composer.json reconfigures the servers.

For a folder that isn't a repository, the current-branch query answers with a repository found below it, so the New Agent Task page read "<folder> on <branch>" although the agent runs in the folder itself and the branch couldn't be changed. The branch is now shown only when the project is a repository.
Unversioned files in the commit view could be added or ignored but not deleted. Their context menu now offers Delete…, as IDEA's Changes view does: it asks first and moves the files to the Trash, only when every selected file is unversioned.
Show History picked its repository with repoOf, which routes a nested repository's own root to the enclosing repository (right for the commit view's submodule pointer), so a submodule folder listed its gitlink history in the parent repository. A repository's own root now opens that repository's history, as in IDEA; other paths still use the innermost repository.
The inline cell editor is a single-line input that drops a value's line breaks on the first change, and it committed on every Enter; the Record view's fields had the same problem. Multi-line values now open in the multi-line editor, Shift+Enter opens it for any cell (from the grid or the inline editor) and Cmd/Ctrl+Enter applies it; CRLF values keep CRLF; the grid marks line breaks with a muted ↵; the Record view uses a text area for multi-line values.
New Branch dropped its suggestion when validateBranchName rejected it, and the current branch always exists, so a plain New Branch from HEAD always opened empty; the test never seeded the local branches. The suggestion is kept, the dialog shows that the branch exists from the start and Create stays disabled until the name changes; other prefilled prompts (Rename Branch) keep showing errors only after editing.
The find bar belonged to the pane and every bar shared one query, and its effect re-ran the search and moved the caret whenever the active tab changed, so switching files dragged the previous file's search into the next one and lost its caret. Each tab now has its own find bar with its own query and options, as with IDEA's per-editor search session. The last search only pre-fills a newly opened bar (or the selection does) and drives Find Next without a bar; showing a bar again only highlights, and the caret moves only when the query or an option changes in that bar. Bars of closed tabs are dropped.

The JVM run-target scanner only reads the file's own text, so a class like `class App extends AtomStarter {}`, whose superclass (in the project or a library JAR) declares `static main`, got no gutter Run, no Ctrl+Shift+R and no file-level Run, although the JVM launches it. Classes with an `extends` clause and no main of their own are now candidates: the superclass chain is walked through the language server's type hierarchy, each class supertype's source (file, decompiled or source-jar document) is checked for a static main, and the answer is cached per class and `extends` clause, so the gutter, Run from context, launch and debug agree. Interfaces are skipped (a static interface main is not inherited); negative answers are asked again when the server settles. `main(java.lang.String[] a)` is accepted as well.

Scroll containers set cursor: text, and the webview applies an element's cursor to its scrollbar, so scrollbars showed the I-beam. The containers now keep the arrow and the text inside them gets the I-beam: the editor (.cm-content instead of .cm-scroller, which also covers the diff and merge editors), the source preview, the Run, Build and Debugger consoles, the Git console, the Database output and the Services log.

The Available tab always showed a "There is no online plugin repository"
notice under the search field when no index was set. Release builds use
the official index by default, so the notice only appeared in development
builds, where the empty URL field above it already said the same thing.
The URL field itself sat at the top of the list although most people never
change it.
- The notice is gone, and the search placeholder reads "Search plugins"
because the list holds marketplace plugins as well as local ones.
- With a repository configured, the empty details panel says "No plugin
selected" instead of claiming there is no online repository.
- The marketplace index URL is edited from the gear menu's "Plugin
Repository…" dialog; leaving it empty restores the default.
A new Java scratch was an empty file that couldn't run until a class and
main method were typed in. Languages can now define `scratch-template` in
`languages/<id>.toml`; a new scratch gets that content with the caret at
`$END$`.
- Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, C and C++ get a runnable `main`.
- Other languages still start empty.
Folders now appear in the composer's `@` completion next to files, from a new
`find_dirs` index query over the folders that hold indexed files (kept
incrementally in the index, ~0.5 ms on 100k files). Enter or a click
references the folder as `@dir/` and sends it as a resource link; Tab keeps
completing inside it.
Closes#1202
* feat(plugins): list community plugins from a registry in the marketplace
The marketplace index can now carry plugins of other publishers, published
from their authors' repositories through the l0ng-ai/openidea-plugins
registry.
- `openidea-plugin index` with a key replaces only that publisher's plugins
(it used to drop every other entry); without a key it indexes each package
against the publishers the index already lists, checking the key and the
id prefix instead of only the signature itself.
- `openidea-plugin merge` takes another index's publishers, plugins and
revocations in place of every publisher but `--keep`; the other index can't
list or revoke the kept publishers' plugins.
- `openidea-plugin check` accepts a `.oiplugin` file.
- Releases merge the registry's index into plugins-index.json and attach the
Linux x64 tool; plugins-index.yml refreshes the community plugins in the
latest release hourly or when the registry signals a change.
- plugins/README.md and CONTRIBUTING.md describe official and community
plugins.
* feat(plugins): offer the newest plugin version this IDE can load
Index entries record the plugin API each version needs (`engine`: the
manifest's `engines.openidea` narrowed to the API its component was built
for), and an index may list several versions of a plugin. Settings › Plugins
offers the newest version this IDE can load; with none, the plugin is shown
as incompatible with the API it needs, and downloading it is refused.
`openidea-plugin index` keeps, of each plugin, the newest version per API
requirement, so users of an older IDE keep the last version built for them;
`--download-base` makes downloads absolute, and the release workflow points
them at the release that published them. Scratch directories are now unique
per call.
* feat(plugins): file marketplace plugins under categories
`plugin.toml` takes `categories` (up to 3 of languages, themes, icon-themes,
linters, vcs, ai, frameworks, tools, other). A plugin that declares none is
filed under what its contributions imply (themes, icon themes, languages),
else under other; categories an IDE doesn't know are ignored, and `check`
warns about them. Index entries carry the categories, and Settings › Plugins
› Available filters by them and shows them in a plugin's details. The
official plugins declare theirs.
* feat(plugins): let a marketplace index point to where it moved
An index with `moved` sends the IDE to the index at that URL (relative or
absolute, up to three hops; an https index can only move to https). Downloads
resolve against the index actually read, so a marketplace can change hosts
while released IDEs keep the address they were built with.
* fix(plugins): full-width category filter and aligned incompatibility note
* fix(plugins): translate the AI category in Chinese
* feat(plugins): keep a plugin's signer across updates and announce updates
- Index format: fields are only added; an IDE reading a newer `format`
still applies its revocations and `moved`, lists no plugins and asks to
be updated, instead of failing to read the index.
- Key continuity: an installed plugin updates silently only to a package
signed with the same key, or a key it endorsed (`KeyEntry.endorsement`,
`index --previous-key`, `openidea-plugin endorse`). Another signer, or an
unsigned package replacing a signed one, is shown on the install page and
needs the user's confirmation (`Consent.signerChange`).
- Official key: release builds carry the official publisher's public key
(`OPENIDEA_OFFICIAL_PLUGIN_KEYS`, derived from PLUGIN_SIGNING_KEY);
`openidea.*` plugins must be signed with it or a key it endorsed,
whatever the index lists.
- Updates: the daily marketplace check announces new versions once, with
Update All (also in the gear menu and as an action). An update that asks
for nothing new installs with the grants the installed version has.
- Index entries need `engine`; `categories` beyond the first three are
ignored instead of rejecting the manifest.
Settings › Plugins (gear menu) gets Import Theme from IntelliJ IDE… (theme plugins of the JetBrains IDEs on this machine, the one each IDE uses first) and Import IntelliJ Theme from File… (a Marketplace .jar / .zip or a .theme.json). The host reads the plugin with size limits; the UI converts it with the IntelliJ mapping (moved from scripts/theme to src/features/plugins/intellijTheme.ts, still used by pnpm theme:import-intellij) into one OpenIDEA theme plugin (engines.openidea ^1.0) with all of its themes, installed through the usual install page, and applies the chosen theme.
Theme pickers separate each plugin's themes, and Quick Switch Scheme › Theme previews the theme under the pointer or keyboard after 500 ms and restores the selected one when closed without a choice.

Multi-line value renderings (a pandas Series) were drawn with white-space: pre in a one-line row and spilled over the rows below. VariablesView rows now join them onto one line like inline values; this covers Variables, Watches, value hints and Evaluate results. Copy/Set Value keep the full text.
Refactor | Pull Members Up… and Push Members Down… for Java, from the Refactor menu, the editor context menu and Refactor This. A dialog picks the destination and the members (Make abstract / Keep abstract); problems are confirmed before anything changes; the edit is applied as one change or previewed first.
JDT LS offers neither as a code action, so the app-owned JDT LS bundle (plugins/java-usages 1.3.0) adds two delegate commands that run JDT's PullUpRefactoringProcessor / PushDownRefactoringProcessor and return the problems and the edit without applying it, exposed as lsp_hierarchy_members / lsp_hierarchy_refactor (also over the remote host dispatcher). The bundled jar was rebuilt from source with JDT LS 1.63.0 and matches the recorded SHA-256.

Icon themes could only map files by exact name or extension and folders by name. Themes can now match by regular expression or path (patterns that could backtrack badly, lookaround, inline flags and named groups are refused at install), ship dark variants, replace built-in UI and symbol (PSI) icons, and offer packs (groups) and variants (choices). A theme describes its own options page in Settings › Plugins as sections of items naming options the IDE implements (hide file/folder/UI/PSI icons, hollow folders, accent, monochrome, saturation, opacity, icon size, row height); values are stored per theme in appearance.fileIconThemeOptions. Existing themes are unchanged.

The Dependency Analyzer lists Gradle projects next to Maven modules. For a Gradle project it runs `<project>:dependencies --configuration <name>` (compile/runtime/test classpaths) in the background (on the project host for remote projects), cancellable and cached per session, and reuses the list/tree views, search, conflicts-only filter and usage paths: an exact request Gradle replaced (1.0 -> 1.1) is a conflict showing the requested version, constraints are left out, unresolved dependencies are marked and build projects (quoted or not) are recognised. Exclude / Jump to Source stay Maven-only. Opened from the Gradle tool window toolbar, a Gradle project's context menu and a build script's menus.
Closes#1005
Removing a temporary configuration in Edit Configurations only changed the dialog's draft; the reload after OK read it back from the saved temporary list. OK / Apply now drops removed temporaries from that list, keeps unedited ones temporary instead of saving every non-detected temporary configuration as a user configuration, and saves edited ones as before. Removing the last temporary configuration also cancels a pending rewrite of the list that could bring the removed entry back (the chooser's Delete had the same race).

Adds a GraphQL tool window: schema discovery from graphql-config files (or every GraphQL file without one), schema errors and endpoints, running the operation at the caret against a configured endpoint with ${NAME} environment variables, Query Result, and introspection into the schema file. The tool window is listed on the stripe once used, so projects without GraphQL get no extra button.

Application / Spring Boot configurations found their module only from the main class, so the same class in two modules failed with "Cannot determine the module for main class", and the JVM was always the module's. The form now has JRE (the module's JDK or an installed JDK) and Use classpath of module (found by main class, or a project module, stored as RunConfig.module). Run configuration selects can load their options when shown.

Sync with Deployed opens in its own window, one per project window. It lists local files next to the server's copies, with filters, content and binary comparison, and an embedded side-by-side diff whose local side can be edited. The selected file can be synchronized (Enter) without closing the window.
The window is the `deployment` kind of the auxiliary windows that Settings and comparisons use. A cancelled close in it stops its project window from closing. The preview uses the vcs diff viewer through its `diff` editor kind. Also covers #811 (compare with the deployed versions).

* fix(sdk): keep the drive letter of a Maven home found on a mapped drive
Maven discovery canonicalized mvn on PATH and each Maven home to resolve symlinks (Homebrew's
bin/mvn). On Windows, a home on a mapped network drive or a subst drive then became
\\?\UNC\server\share\… (or another drive), the Maven home setting picked from the list stored
that path, and cmd.exe can't start mvn.cmd from it: every Maven run failed with "The system
cannot find the path specified". Discovery now keeps the path as found when canonicalizing would
change its drive letter.
Refs #822
* fix(sdk): keep the drive letter of a JDK home on a mapped drive
A JDK on a mapped network drive was canonicalized to \\?\UNC\server\share\…
too, so Maven ran with that JAVA_HOME and mvn.cmd failed with "The system
cannot find the path specified" even with a local Maven home. JDK homes
(configured, JAVA_HOME, the java on PATH) now keep their drive letter like
Maven homes do.
* fix(maven): resolve current toolchain settings for each run
* fix(sdk): distinguish mapped roots from external launcher links
* test(run): preserve explicit Maven choices across save and reload
* fix(maven): keep edited nested test launchers when refreshing defaults
Compare with Local, Compare Versions and the other revision comparisons open in a separate window that belongs to their project window. The window can be moved outside the main window, resized from its edges and corners, and shows the full diff. Edits made there and in the project window are mirrored both ways.
Root cause of #798: the comparison was an in-window dialog with a fixed size.
Settings and comparison windows now share one auxiliary-window mechanism (`AuxKind`, `open_auxiliary_window`). It handles labels, the title bar, placement over the parent, event forwarding, document-edit mirroring, menu routing, closing together with the parent, and remembered geometry per kind.

A pending agent question / permission request could only be answered from the banner at the top of the session; the conversation line said "Waiting for your answer" with nothing to click. Adds ClickHouse to Data Sources over its HTTP interface (HTTP/HTTPS, SSH tunnels, session settings, server-side cancellation): browse databases, tables and columns, inspect DDL, run queries and EXPLAIN plans, with ClickHouse dialect completion. Table data stays read-only and manual transactions are rejected, since ClickHouse keys are not unique and HTTP has no transactions.
Results are streamed as JSONCompactEachRowWithNamesAndTypes and parsing stops at the row limit, because result_overflow_mode=break still returns a whole block; errors show only the server's "Code: …" message, including failures raised mid-stream.

The GitHub tool window's long operations passed an untagged banner title and appended " failed" for the error, so the banner stayed English and failures read half translated. withBusy now takes a tx-tagged progress title and its own failure title per operation (checkout, fetch for diff, worktree, apply/commit suggestion, resolve thread).
Temporary run configurations were kept with what settings derived when they were made (absolute mvn, -s / -Dmaven.repo.local, JAVA_HOME), and never went through the backend again, so after a Maven home / settings file / JDK change they and gutter test runs narrowed from them still ran the old ones. They are now kept without derived values (run_without_derived) and get the current settings applied when the run list loads (run_apply_settings). Maven's settings file and local repository apply to every Maven configuration unless it sets them itself. Earlier stored entries are dropped once.

Adds French as a UI language, with French catalogs for message keys and source text,
and the French space before a colon in settings labels.
UI languages are now registered in one place, `LOCALES` in `src/platform/i18n.ts` (name
in its own language and `<html lang>` tag); the Language and Region options, settings
validation and `<html lang>` all come from it. The catalog tests read every catalog in
`locales/` and `locales/text/`, so a new file is always checked, and literal message keys
given to `t` must exist in `en.json`. Only Chinese must cover every UI string; French and
Korean show English for text they lack.

jdtls ran on the parallel collector, which never shrinks the heap while idle, so each server kept its import/build peak committed for as long as it lived. It now runs on G1 with a periodic collection every minute and a 10–30% free-heap band, so memory goes back to the OS once the work is done (a SkyWalking checkout: 1.9 GB → 1.25–1.3 GB idle). A collector set in the JVM options still replaces ours with its tuning; setting either heap-free ratio drops both of ours.
The Equinox launcher gets -nosplash: without it its native library loads AppKit on macOS and every jdtls shows as Not Responding in Activity Monitor.

Git operations passed their title, success and failure text to runOp / runGitOperation as plain strings the text catalog check doesn't see, so notifications after a commit, merge, rebase, stash, shelve, tag, patch or rollback stayed in English, several splicing plurals or English words. Call sites now tag the text with tx, each count and variant has its own sentence, and a failure is titled "{title} failed" from the translated title.
Prune and Compose task titles spliced English into a sentence ("Pruning ${target}…", "Compose ${op} ${project}…"), so they stayed partly or wholly English. Each prune target and Compose operation now has its own title and failure text.
A catalog declared in settings as create("name") { from("group:artifact:version") } is a published .toml Gradle downloads into its cache. Build-script accessors of such a catalog now go to and describe its entries like a local catalog's: gradle_published_catalog finds the file in Gradle's cache or the local Maven repository on the project's host. A catalog not downloaded yet is looked up again the next time the script opens.
