During a live resize AppKit lays out and draws the title bar inside each drag event and resets the window buttons to their defaults, moving the zoom button without a frame change notification. Correcting the frames afterwards from a run loop observer let every step draw the default positions first, so the buttons kept jittering while the window edge was held.
The window now gets an empty unified toolbar, compact or regular to match the web title bar height, so AppKit lays out and centres the buttons itself and nothing moves them afterwards. The run loop observer and the manual frame corrections are removed.
Update Project
- The update summary and View Commits cover only the incoming commits
(merge base with the tracked branch before and after), not rebased local
commits or the merge commit.
- An update that stops on conflicts opens the Conflicts dialog instead of an
error balloon.
- The Update dialog remembers the chosen method, has "Don't show again", and
"Reset to the Remote Branch" (fetch, drop local commits, keep local changes).
Push
- A rejected push asks Merge / Rebase (Rebase Anyway with unpushed merges) with
"remember and update silently", updates every repository and pushes again,
up to ten times, without an error balloon first.
- A tag that already exists, a hook or server refusal is not treated as a
non-fast-forward rejection; a stale force-with-lease offers "Force push anyway".
- Run Git hooks (--no-verify) when a pre-push hook exists; Set upstream also when
pushing to another branch name; multi-repository push continues past failures.
- Tags: Push to <remote> and Delete (Restore, Delete on Remote).
Rebase
- Reword in an interactive rebase keeps message lines starting with '#'.
- Continue stages edits of files already staged; other unstaged changes report
a clear error with Stage and Retry, Show Files and Abort.
- A stopped rebase or merge offers Abort in its error balloon; resolving the
last conflict from the Conflicts dialog continues by itself.
- Branch menu rebase/merge use the full branch ref when a tag has the same name.
- Files keep their changelists while local changes are set aside.
File history follows renames done in merges and history merged from other
branches, and names the path of each revision.
* fix(vcs): keep local changes and staging intact across commit, checkout and history edits
- Commit: changes left out of a commit keep their staged state. The commit is
made from a copy of the index (included files staged there, excluded ones
reset to HEAD), so the user's index and other repositories are untouched.
- Smart Checkout restores staged changes as staged; untracked files a checkout
would overwrite are listed instead of a raw git error.
- Edit Commit Message rewrites the commit and its descendants without a rebase,
so the working tree and local changes stay as they are.
- Edit Commit Message, Drop and Squash offer Undo in their notification while
the branch hasn't moved since.
- Interactive rebases (Drop, Squash, Interactively Rebase) put local changes
aside themselves and bring them back with their staged state once the rebase
is over, also after a stop for conflicts.
- Undo Commit asks for the target changelist (a new one named after the
commit) and puts the commit message back into the commit message field.
- Cherry-pick and revert skip commits whose changes are already applied instead
of stopping with an empty commit; commits cherry-picked from a protected
branch get "(cherry picked from commit …)".
- Commit tool window: Commit File…, Accept Yours / Accept Theirs on conflicted
files and Copy as Patch to Clipboard.
* fix(vcs): restore staged changes after merge, rebase and update; roll back partial multi-repository operations
- Merge, rebase, pull / Update Project and the rebase of a diverged checkout put
local changes aside themselves and bring them back with --index, so staged
changes stay staged (git's --autostash restored them unstaged). An operation
stopped on conflicts keeps them aside until it is continued, skipped, aborted
or concluded by a commit.
- Checkout, New Branch, Merge, Rebase and Delete over several repositories:
when one repository fails after others succeeded, ask whether to roll those
back (check out the previous branch, delete the new branch, reset to the
commit before, restore the branch); not when it stopped on conflicts.
- Fixup… / Squash Into…: while the prepared message is in the field, the second
commit button is Commit and Rebase, which commits and autosquashes the new
commit into its target.
- Undo on a history rewrite replaces its notification, so the link is gone once
used.
Plugin API 1.2 gains an optional document-indexer export (plugin-indexing world). A plugin returns per document the keys it defines and refers to, aliases between key prefixes and gutter markers; the host indexes a trusted project in cancellable background batches, keeps the project-wide graph, and answers Go to Declaration / Ctrl-click and multi-target gutter markers from memory without calling the plugin again. Edits and file changes invalidate the affected entries; reload, disable or a failing runtime drops the plugin's graph.
The interface is limited to cross-file associations: icons chosen by file content and embedded-language regions are separate concerns for later interfaces. The plugin navigation choosers' titles are translated.

Go to Implementation on a type or method declared in a dependency listed only the project's implementations once the project had one. openidea.java.implementations (java-usages 1.5.0) now answers {locations, complete}, complete when the type is declared in the sources, and also searches the Kotlin bridge's classes. When not complete, the chooser opens with the project's implementations (searching…) through the new lsp_goto_implementation channel and fills in the dependencies' when the standard request ends; closing it cancels the search.
WebKitGTK's DMA-BUF renderer fails on a Wayland session with the NVIDIA driver ("Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display") and the app exits before showing a window. On that combination WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 is set at startup unless the user already set it.
A program started through runInTerminal had stdin from /dev/null, and CodeLLDB's launcher only hands the program a terminal it can read from when it runs on one. runInTerminal now starts the command on a pseudo-terminal, forwards its output to the console (CRLF as LF, without CodeLLDB's clear-screen request) and reports that the program takes input; while it runs, the console's input line goes to it, while paused it evaluates as before. debugpy and js-debug programs started in a terminal get the same.
PHP files and composer.json of a Composer project show a banner when vendor/autoload.php is missing or a package of composer.lock is not installed at its locked version (packages-dev only unless the install used --no-dev; config.vendor-dir honoured). Install runs composer install in the Run tool window with the PHP of Settings › PHP first on PATH; Ignore hides it until the project is reopened. Rechecked when composer.json, composer.lock or vendor change; not shown in an untrusted project. A Composer Install action does the same.
A project tab group in full screen uses simple fullscreen and keeps its title bar for the window buttons. AppKit's constrainFrameRect:toScreen: keeps a titled window below the camera housing whenever it is placed, shown or resized, so on a notched display the group sat 32 pt low with the status bar off-screen. Windows in simple fullscreen now keep the frame they ask for; every other window still goes through AppKit's constraint.

close_project was a synchronous command, so it ran on the UI thread and dropped the project there: stopping its file watcher and index worker waits for the batch of file events they are applying, many while a build or rust-analyzer writes output. The command now runs off the main thread, and the project is dropped on the project shutdown thread, which a project opened next still waits for (the index database is released first). The window Destroyed path gets the same.
Running a .php file or a #!/usr/bin/env php script used the PATH php: the file producer resolves tools on PATH and the settings pass only replaces a bare php command. A new sdk_php_effective command returns the configured interpreter (like sdk_python_effective) and the producer prefers it; the not-found text points to the PHP settings page.

The Git log's changed-files pane can show the lines a commit added and deleted per file and as a total per directory and for the selection, from git diff --numstat -z -M over the same revision pairs as the file list (renames matched by either name). Off by default; turned on in Settings › Version Control › Log or the pane's View Options, so selecting a commit runs no extra diff unless asked.

"Reopen projects on startup" only saved window groups, so windows opened with New Window were lost. The saved session now lists every open project window (groups with their tabs and selection, single windows on their own), and the previous run's session is read before this run first overwrites it, so the startup project can't replace it before the other windows are restored.
* perf(vcs): filter the Git log with git log instead of a background search index
The log built a persistent inverted index of every commit's message, authors and
changed paths in the background, with a progress bar above the commit list, and
walked trees itself to filter by path. Building it took minutes on large
repositories, and filters were slow until it finished.
- Text: plain text uses `git log --fixed-strings --grep` (with
`--regexp-ignore-case` unless Match Case is on); text of 4+ hex digits also
matches hash prefixes. Regex filters still match in-process.
- Paths: `git log -- :(literal)<paths>` replaces the in-process path walk and
its per-commit tree cache. It uses git's history simplification and, when the
repository has a changed-path commit-graph, its Bloom filters. Glob characters
in a path are literal.
- Authors match against the commit metadata cache.
- Removed the search tables, `index_log`, the `vcs_log_index` command and the
indexing progress bar. The commit metadata cache stays.
* docs(contributing): ask for screenshots only when a change alters what users see
Removing a feature together with its UI, copy-only and non-visual changes now
describe what was checked instead of attaching before/after screenshots.
* fix(vcs): match case-insensitive non-ASCII Git log text in process
git folds case only for ASCII under the C locale it runs with, so a
case-insensitive filter like "ärger" missed "Ärger". Such text is now
matched against commit messages directly. Path and text selection also
ignore log.showSignature and log.follow from the user's config.
* perf(vfs): list directories off the main thread and reuse the repository lookup
Opening a folder on a network share (\\wsl.localhost\<distro>\...) is slow
because every listing ran on the main thread and walked up to the repository
root and ran a repository discovery again.
- fs_read_dir runs on the blocking pool.
- GitignoreStack::cached keeps the repository root and the repo-level rules
for a few seconds. An edit of .git/info/exclude is still seen at once (its
mtime and size are checked) and every .gitignore / .ignore is read fresh.
Refs #916
* feat(remote): open WSL projects through a WSL transport
A folder of a WSL distro (\\wsl.localhost\<distro>\... or \\wsl$\...) now opens
as a remote project whose openidea-server runs inside the distro, so the
terminal, SDK discovery, run, language servers and git are native Linux.
- RemoteTarget (ssh | wsl) replaces the SSH configuration id in the remote
launch, connection, session and recents; old recents are read as SSH and a
WSL target never inherits the legacy trust migration.
- remote_wsl: probe the distro, stream the server into ~/.openidea/server and
start it with `wsl.exe -d <distro> --exec <bin> --stdio`. Distro names are
validated and every command goes through --exec with positional arguments.
- wsl_distros / wsl_resolve commands; File > Open, the CLI and recents route
WSL folders to the distro and focus the window that already has them.
- Remote Development dialog: SSH/WSL choice with the detected distros; the
status bar shows `WSL: <distro>` / `SSH: <host>`.
- ide-jsonrpc: skip the NUL left at the start of a line by UTF-16 output of
wsl.exe, which made the first message of the server disappear.
Not run on Windows yet: only a stand-in for wsl.exe is tested.

* fix(remote): satisfy clippy in WSL output decoding
* style(run): format run types
* fix: regenerate bindings and drop untranslated WSL catalog entry
* test(i18n): list WSL as an untranslated product name
* fix(run): pick build wrappers and shell quoting by the execution host
A remote window runs commands on its Linux or macOS server, so a Windows
desktop no longer selects gradlew.bat, mvnw.cmd or Windows quoting for it.
* fix(welcome): open legacy WSL UNC recents and sessions through the distro
Recents and the restored session called the local openProject for a
\\wsl.localhost folder saved before WSL projects, which fails with OS
error 123. They now resolve it like the other entry points.
* fix(windows): keep WSL files out of remote project launches
path_launch tested the WSL share before is_dir, so a first-instance CLI
launch with a WSL file opened a remote project instead of LightEdit.
* fix(remote): run-command OS comes from the remote host, not an assumption
The server's OS was dropped after connect, so a restored session had none and
isWindows() assumed every remote host is Unix. Keep it on the connection and
the session, and resolve it through hostOs().

A bottom tool window lists the connected Android devices (adb devices -l) and
streams the selected one's log (adb logcat -v threadtime, the last 200 lines first),
parsed into time, pid, level, tag and message in a virtualised list that follows the
end until scrolled up. The filter box takes Android Studio's logcat expressions
(tag:, message:, pid:, level:, -term, |, parentheses, regex) and remembers recent
ones. The new ide-android crate runs adb, which it finds through ANDROID_HOME /
ANDROID_SDK_ROOT, the usual SDK locations or PATH; the stream goes over a Channel
in batches (300 lines, or once the oldest waiting line is 60 ms old) and stops with
its request. The window is listed under the stripe's overflow until first opened.

Dart projects that depend on the Flutter SDK were debugged through
`dart debug_adapter`, which cannot start a program importing dart:ui and has no
hot reload. A session now uses `flutter debug_adapter` when the program's or the
working directory's pubspec.yaml depends on the Flutter SDK, or when an attach
configuration asks for it (add-to-app: vm-service-uri and device map to the
adapter's attach arguments). Hot Reload and Hot Restart are sent over DAP and
appear in the toolbar of Dart sessions. Dart files also get a debug configuration.

Welcome › Projects can put recent projects into named groups: Move to Group (other groups, New Group…, Remove from group) on a project, Rename / New / Remove Group on a group (removing keeps its projects). Groups are listed first, fold with click, Enter or ←/→, and searching lists matches without groups. Groups live in recent-groups.json beside recent.json; grouped projects are exempt from the 30-project cap and leave their group when removed from recent projects.

Adds a search bar to query result grids (match case / words / regex, previous/next occurrence, Filter rows) and a pager for console results (first/previous/next/last, page size). Later pages re-run the read-only query with a skip, which every driver reads past without decoding, so only one page crosses IPC; Last counts rows with the statement wrapped so a trailing line comment can't swallow the closing parenthesis.

Spring route sources came back from the host with native separators, so on Windows every source failed the prefix check against the forward-slash project root and Search Everywhere showed no endpoints. Opening a folder of independent Gradle builds selected only the first build. Link Gradle Projects… (pick a build's settings or build file) and Unlink on a build's root let an ordinary project window manage several independent builds without changing their scripts. The build model holds a list of Gradle builds; each keeps its own wrapper, working directory, environment, task routing and sync cache, keyed by the owning build directory. The links persist in the project's Gradle settings (linkedProjects); unlinking leaves files and saved run configurations alone. Existing includeBuild support is unchanged, and an explicitly linked build takes precedence over a composite that also includes it. Workspace windows keep Link/Unlink disabled.

On macOS, with tap to click and a third-party input method active, WebKit
can deliver a tap's mousedown after the button is already up (WebKit bug
219670). Tauri's drag-region script starts the native drag on any
mousedown, so AppKit ran its drag loop with no release left to end it and
the window followed the pointer until the next click.
On macOS the title bar now uses its own drag region: a drag starts only
when the mousedown has the primary button down, and the new
window_start_drag command checks NSEvent.pressedMouseButtons before
start_dragging. Double-click zoom stays on mouseup and is cancelled by
movement. The handlers are installed once per page. Windows and Linux
keep data-tauri-drag-region.

On a fresh install, Settings › Plugins › Available showed no marketplace plugins until the user refreshed by hand: opening the page asked for the listing without a refresh, which only returned the cached index, and a first run has none. The listing now reads the index when none has been read yet; later opens keep using the index already read, and an explicit refresh reads it again.
On Linux, open and save dialogs were always the in-process GTK3 file chooser, even on KDE Plasma, because tauri-plugin-dialog defaults to its gtk3 feature. It now uses the xdg-portal feature, so dialogs go through xdg-desktop-portal and show the desktop's own chooser; without a portal, rfd falls back to zenity. Only Linux and the BSDs change; macOS and Windows dialogs are the same. Message, ask and confirm boxes are drawn by the app and don't use the plugin.

Debug launches (also second instances that only hand over a path) exported the bindings and rewrote an unchanged src/bindings.ts, which made Vite reload the running app's windows. The bindings now go to a temporary file first and the source file is replaced only when it differs.
With a PHP file focused, the status bar shows the PHP level Intelephense
checks against (`PHP 7.4`); the tooltip says where it comes from (the
settings, config.platform.php or require.php). Clicking it opens Auto (with

project setting as Settings › Languages & Frameworks › PHP, so diagnostics
follow without reopening the project. The widget is hidden for other files.

project's settings and the choices are disabled. The menu is also the
action "PHP Language Level".

Git Log could lose commits when filtering by several paths, draw wrong
ancestry after filtering or collapsing rows, and open the wrong
repository in multi-root views. The graph is now projected over the full
commit DAG and laid out in Bek order, so filtered and collapsed views keep
the real ancestry; each log view keeps its own filters and requests.
Commit metadata, messages and path changes are kept in a persistent index
(by object id, in the IDE's cache directory) with seekable paging, and the
log gains parent-aware merge comparisons, a lazy revision browser,
read-only logs of repositories outside the project (opened with command
execution disabled), commit bookmarks, configurable built-in columns and
batched commit details. The adapted IntelliJ algorithms are attributed in
THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.md.

Unity projects (a folder with Assets and ProjectSettings/ProjectVersion.txt)
are detected without a generated solution: Assets / Packages become source
roots, ProjectSettings resources, and Unity's cache and build folders are
excluded before they exist. A Unity pane in the Project view shows the
editor version and hides .meta files, generated C# project files and
caches (each can be shown again).
Operations on assets under Assets keep their .meta files consistent:
rename and move carry the metadata (same GUID), delete removes both, copy
generates new GUIDs and updates references inside the copied group, and
file-move undo and workspace edits include the metadata. Destination
metadata conflicts and links inside the project are rejected before
anything changes.

Git › Show History for Selection, as in IDEA: from Git › Current File and the editor's Git menu it opens a tab with only the commits that changed the selected lines (or the caret line), newest first, and the block before and after each commit in the diff viewer. Merged project windows are separate native windows that take turns being visible. Hidden members kept their own earlier frame and monitor, so the first switch after merging, and any switch after moving or resizing the window, moved or resized the window on screen; a maximized member could appear on another display. The group now copies the selected window's frame and display to the hidden members after a selection and after the visible window is moved or resized (debounced), skips copies when the frame already matches, and leaves macOS simple fullscreen to its own path, so switching projects only changes which window is visible.

Native fullscreen gives every window its own Space, so switching projects in a fullscreen window group left one Space and entered another: the desktop showed in between, and quick switching could drop out of fullscreen.
A grouped window now uses simple fullscreen for every member at once; switching projects only shows one window and hides the others. The green button, the system Enter Full Screen item and Toggle Full Screen take this path for grouped windows, which keep their window buttons; ungrouped windows keep native fullscreen. Menu bar and Dock auto-hide while any window is in simple fullscreen, and detaching or closing a tab keeps the rest of the group fullscreen.

Refactor | Pull Members Up… and Push Members Down… for Java, from the Refactor menu, the editor context menu and Refactor This. JDT LS offers neither as a code action, so the app-owned JDT LS bundle (plugins/java-usages 1.3.0) adds two delegate commands that run JDT's PullUpRefactoringProcessor / PushDownRefactoringProcessor and return the problems and the edit without applying it, exposed as lsp_hierarchy_members / lsp_hierarchy_refactor (also over the remote host dispatcher). The bundled jar was rebuilt from source with JDT LS 1.63.0 and matches the recorded SHA-256.

The Dependency Analyzer lists Gradle projects next to Maven modules. For a Gradle project it runs `<project>:dependencies --configuration <name>` (compile/runtime/test classpaths) in the background (on the project host for remote projects), cancellable and cached per session, and reuses the list/tree views, search, conflicts-only filter and usage paths: an exact request Gradle replaced (1.0 -> 1.1) is a conflict showing the requested version, constraints are left out, unresolved dependencies are marked and build projects (quoted or not) are recognised. Exclude / Jump to Source stay Maven-only. Opened from the Gradle tool window toolbar, a Gradle project's context menu and a build script's menus.

Sync with Deployed opens in its own window, one per project window. It lists local files next to the server's copies, with filters, content and binary comparison, and an embedded side-by-side diff whose local side can be edited. The selected file can be synchronized (Enter) without closing the window.
The window is the `deployment` kind of the auxiliary windows that Settings and comparisons use. A cancelled close in it stops its project window from closing. The preview uses the vcs diff viewer through its `diff` editor kind. Also covers #811 (compare with the deployed versions).

Compare with Local, Compare Versions and the other revision comparisons open in a separate window that belongs to their project window. The window can be moved outside the main window, resized from its edges and corners, and shows the full diff. Edits made there and in the project window are mirrored both ways.
Root cause of #798: the comparison was an in-window dialog with a fixed size.
Settings and comparison windows now share one auxiliary-window mechanism (`AuxKind`, `open_auxiliary_window`). It handles labels, the title bar, placement over the parent, event forwarding, document-edit mirroring, menu routing, closing together with the parent, and remembered geometry per kind.

Temporary run configurations were kept with what settings derived when they were made (absolute mvn, -s / -Dmaven.repo.local, JAVA_HOME), and never went through the backend again, so after a Maven home / settings file / JDK change they and gutter test runs narrowed from them still ran the old ones. They are now kept without derived values (run_without_derived) and get the current settings applied when the run list loads (run_apply_settings). Maven's settings file and local repository apply to every Maven configuration unless it sets them itself. Earlier stored entries are dropped once.

A catalog declared in settings as create("name") { from("group:artifact:version") } is a published .toml Gradle downloads into its cache. Build-script accessors of such a catalog now go to and describe its entries like a local catalog's: gradle_published_catalog finds the file in Gradle's cache or the local Maven repository on the project's host. "Update classes and resources" / "Update resources" on a Tomcat configuration deploying the project's WAR artifact ran a full package build and re-exploded the archive. They now compile the WAR module incrementally through jdtls and copy only the changed classes and resources into WEB-INF/classes and changed web files (src/main/webapp) into the exploded deployment; Tomcat reloads the context, or HotSwap applies the classes when debugging. Falls back to rebuilding the WAR when a dependency module was compiled since the last update (its WEB-INF/lib jar would be stale), the deployment doesn't exist yet, or no Java language server is available. Redeploy still rebuilds the WAR.
