codemirror-vim only discards single-character IME commits in Normal mode, so multi-character commits (Chinese pinyin, Japanese conversions) were written into the document and could replace the selection. In Normal/Visual mode the composition now renders as usual and its whole span is restored when it ends; an ASCII single-character commit (dead keys) is replayed as a Vim key. Composition changes are marked transientChange: they stay out of undo history, the document model, the backend and other split panes. Insert/Replace mode is unchanged. A release build of OpenIDEA from main and IDEA with default settings and plugins, on
Windows 11, 32-core AMD, 62 GB RAM.
IDEA analyses Python more deeply, so "ready" doesn't mean the same work on
both sides. Both are measured from the outside, the same way: see
perf/compare to run it on your machine and projects.
