A structured to-tui launch captured `ptyId` only after the guard that requires the resumed terminal to publish a process identity. When that guard fired, the cleanup path had no PTY to wait on, threw "The failed terminal did not publish a PTY identity", and reported the whole launch as `StructuredTuiLaunchCleanupError` - cleanup could not prove the process gone. That classification is what strands the session. The forward flow treats an unprovable cleanup as ambiguous ownership and latches the record in `manual-recovery` with `ownerProcess: null`. `structuredManualRecoveryIsAdmissible` refuses recovery without an owner process, and the only ownerless probe is a spawn-token environment scan that answers on Linux alone, so on Windows and macOS nothing can ever leave that stage. `agentSession.close` keeps the record, so `findConflictingStructuredAdoption` then refuses every future adoption of the same provider conversation with `agent_session_ownership_unknown` - permanently. The PTY id was already in hand when the guard fired. Capturing it first lets the existing cleanup prove that PTY exited, which makes the failure an ordinary one and lets `recoverNativeAfterTuiFailure` roll the reservation back to the proven native owner. Nothing is loosened: admissibility, probe adjudication and the manual-recovery predicate are untouched, and a launch whose PTY genuinely cannot be proven gone still reports an unprovable cleanup and still fails closed.
