The owner is launch-scoped but a pane is session-scoped, and nothing carried the first across to the second. An open chat recomputed its target from the worktree's current runtime owner on every store update, tab activation re-derived the same way, and tab close re-resolved it again. A same-id re-pair or an ownership change therefore pointed a live pane at the replacement host: usually a stale transcript or an absent session, and where that host happened to hold the same session id, later mutations addressed the wrong journal. The chat rendered inside a terminal tab had the mirror defect from the other direction — its portal hardcoded the local host, so the two render surfaces disagreed about the same session. The tab now carries the owner. It is stamped from the host that publishes the chat, pinned on first stamp so a later publication cannot move an open pane, and it rides with the pairing revision because an environment id is reused across re-pairings. Both render surfaces, activation and close read that one stamp, and the host calls are fenced on the revision it was stamped at rather than licensing a re-resolve. The read owner is keyed on the revision too, so a re-paired host cannot serve its own transcript under a pane that was reading the previous machine's. When the stamp no longer matches, the pane keeps the last transcript, says so, and stops writing. A tab persisted before stamping keeps the previous derivation exactly, including never reading as cached, and a local session stays local even if its worktree later becomes runtime-owned.
