Shuki Vaknin 9eaaa614fe fix(mobile): keep swipe action icon on the physically exposed edge in RTL
The reveal layer used logical justify-start/-end, which flip under RTL, so
the archive/delete icon appeared on the wrong side. The exposed edge
follows the physical translate direction, not text direction, so force the
decorative layer to LTR.

Shuki Vaknin 78c84f19a5 feat(mobile): swipe list rows left/right for quick actions
Adds Gmail-style horizontal swipe actions to message rows on touch
devices. Swiping a row past a threshold fires a configurable action and
snaps back; a coloured background with an icon is revealed under the
finger and grows when the release would commit.

- New `useSwipeActions` hook: claims a touch as a swipe only once the
horizontal travel dominates (vertical stays native list scrolling via
`touch-action: pan-y`, no preventDefault), resists past the commit
distance, and suppresses the tap that would otherwise follow.
- Two settings (Settings -> reading/email behavior): "Swipe right
action" (default Archive) and "Swipe left action" (default Delete),
each one of none / archive / delete / toggle read / toggle star /
spam. A direction set to an action the current folder does not expose
  simply does nothing.
- Composes with the existing long-press (context menu) handlers; desktop
is unchanged (hover actions + right-click).
- Scoped to single-message rows; unit tests cover commit/short-drag/
  no-action-side/vertical-scroll/tap-suppression.

dealerweb 4e6043cf56 test: cover the failed-save rescue dropping the close follow-up
When the server refuses the draft save, the composer resets its explicit-
close flag so the unmount stash hands the text to the continue-draft slot
(#702). The close follow-up must be dropped in that case - running it
would open the new session on top of the rescue. This was the one branch
of the close guard without a test.

dealerweb 9ff14f5781 fix: route mailto composer replacement through the close guard
Opening a mailto: link while the composer held unsaved text used to
replace the session outright and drop the text on the floor. The mailto
entry point now hands a follow-up to the composer's dirty-aware close
handler, so the "Save or discard draft?" dialog runs first: save and
discard continue into the mailto draft, cancel leaves the current draft
untouched. When a failed save hands the text back to the continue-draft
slot (#702), that rescue wins and the follow-up is dropped.

Patrick RotterandClaude Opus 5 3560cf258b fix: route keyword writes to the selected shared account
Tags, pins and $answered/$forwarded/$mdnsent set on a message in a
shared/group mailbox opened directly from the "Shared" sidebar section
did not persist: they showed until the next reload and were then gone.

The call sites resolved the target account as
`isUnifiedView ? email.sourceAccountId : undefined`. Outside the unified
view that is always `undefined`, so the write went to the reaching
client's own account, which the server answers with `notUpdated` /
`updated: null` and no error - the same silent no-op that
`email-store-shared-folder-actions.test.ts` already covers for the batch
actions. Emails fetched from a shared folder this way are undecorated
(no `sourceAccountId`); the owner is only recoverable from the selected
mailbox.

`toggleStar` never had the bug because it routes through
`resolveEmailActionContext`, which resolves the owner from the email's
source in an aggregate view and from the selected mailbox otherwise.
That resolver was reimplemented inline at each keyword call site, and
the inline copies only ever covered the aggregate half - so starring a
shared message persisted while tagging the same message did not.

Move the two keyword writes into store actions built on that resolver
and route every call site through them, including the read-receipt and
Pro-compose paths that previously passed no accountId at all.

The store actions resolve only for an email the store actually knows.
A Pro tab fetches its own email and never enters `emails` or
`selectedEmail`; for those the selected mailbox says nothing about the
message's owner, so guessing from it would send an own-account write to
a shared account whenever a shared folder happened to be open. An
unknown email keeps the previous behaviour instead.

Behaviour on own-account and unified-view messages is unchanged.

zisisvakras 07ce2d0139 fix: scope separate translation hooks instead of relative namespace paths
next-intl has no "../" relative-namespace escape. A key like
t('../context_menu.not_spam') is not resolved relative to anything -
it is concatenated literally into the lookup key and always misses,
throwing MISSING_MESSAGE. email-list.tsx, about-data-settings.tsx,
and account-settings.tsx all used this pattern to reach keys outside
their own translation namespace.

Fixed by calling useTranslations() again for each additional
namespace needed, which is the supported way to reach sibling
namespaces, instead of trying to walk out of the current one.

The translations test already verifies that every key referenced in
source resolves in the en locale, but its extractor skipped any key
starting with a dot, which is exactly the shape of the broken calls,
so this class of bug never failed CI. Since no legitimate key can
start with a dot, the exclusion is removed. With it gone the test
reports all thirteen call sites fixed here when run against the old
code, and passes with the fix, so a reintroduced relative path fails
CI with the offending file listed.

dealerweb 3e58eb636c fix: apply the data: URI allowlist to media tags too
ALLOWED_URI_REGEXP excludes image/svg+xml on purpose - DOMPurify cannot
inspect the bytes inside a data: URI, so an SVG payload can carry
<script>/<foreignObject> the surrounding sanitizer never sees. That
exclusion never took effect on <img>, <video>, <audio>, <source> and
<track>: DOMPurify's attribute check short-circuits on DATA_URI_TAGS
before ALLOWED_URI_REGEXP is consulted, and that set can only be extended
via ADD_DATA_URI_TAGS, never trimmed. Any data: URI reached those tags,
including image/svg+xml and text/html; <a href> behaved as documented.

Not a live script vector - browsers render SVG-in-<img> in secure static
mode - but the sanitizer promised something it did not enforce, and the
print window renders sanitized bodies without the iframe sandbox and CSP
that otherwise back it up.

restrictDataUriResourcesOnNode re-applies the raster allowlist on those
tags, wired in through the existing afterSanitizeAttributes hooks. The
blocked-external-image placeholder becomes a 1x1 GIF: it is set in the
same hook pass, so an SVG placeholder would depend on hook order.

The three viewer call sites that hand-rolled
DOMPurify.sanitize(html, EMAIL_IFRAME_SANITIZE_CONFIG) now use
sanitizeEmailHtmlForIframe, which is the same thing and picks up the
guard automatically.

Stefan Hildebrandt 88a809bd69 test(integration): verify unread/starred cross views keep the acted-on row
Adds 11-cross-view-retain.spec.ts: with the Unread cross view open, reading a
mail keeps it in the list (status + unread counter update only, no removal);
with the Starred cross view open, un-starring keeps it. Both force the
focus/push refresh that previously dropped the row and assert it survives.

Supporting test hooks:
- thread-list-item: expose data-starred on the row.
- email-context-menu: testId ctx-star / ctx-unstar on the star item.
- integration helpers: expectEmailStarred (app.ts), setFlagged (jmap.ts).
- integration policy.json: enable crossStarredViewEnabled.

Verified: 08-shared-moves-style run of 11-cross-view-retain → 2/2 passed
against the dockerized stack.

Linus Rath f056db5a05 fix(plugins): make attachment offload workable and keep the write gate closed
Review follow-up to #751.

The offload path could not actually run: onBeforeBlobUpload goes through
HookBus.transform, which capped every handler at the 5s default. A handler
that pushes the file to an external store blows past that, and on timeout
the error is swallowed, the original file id is kept, and the composer
attaches the big file anyway - silently - while three such timeouts in a
minute auto-disable the plugin. Buses can now carry their own per-handler
budget and this one gets 120s. The same ceiling existed inside the sandbox,
where http.post/http.fetch were bounded by the 30s default API timeout;
those two are transfers rather than round-trips and now get 120s as well.

PRIVILEGED_ONLY_METHODS listed 'upfiles.set', which matches no dispatched
method - the dispatcher calls it 'upfiles.save'. So the write was never
tier-gated despite the comment saying it was, and an untrusted plugin with
email:blob-write could replace the bytes of a file the user was about to
send. Fixed the name. Relaxing the read while that stayed open was the
wrong order.

Moving upfiles.get to email:blob-read is kept, but it is a wider grant than
the PR described: onBeforeBlobUpload hands the file id to every registered
handler, so the id is not a secret and any untrusted plugin holding
email:blob-read can read every file the user attaches. The consent copy now
says that; email:blob-write's copy was describing the read and now describes
the replace it actually gates.

Also in the composer offload path:
- sanitize the handler's html before it reaches the document and the sent
message, and insert it through the editor at the caret rather than
concatenating it after the signature and quoted block
- honour an abort that lands while the handler is offloading
- delete the right staged file when the handler re-saved it under a new id
via upfiles.save, which otherwise stranded a copy in IndexedDB forever

Roman Varlakov 656a9c9c3b feat(plugins): let onBeforeBlobUpload offload an attachment
A handler can now return an ExternalAttachmentResult ({externalAttachment:
true, html, text}) instead of a file id. The composer then deletes the
staged file, removes the attachment and appends the replacement content
to the body, so a plugin can push a large file to an external store and
leave a download link behind. Returning a string (or nothing) keeps the
stock upload path byte-for-byte.

Also adds plainTextMode to the upload callback deps, which the new branch
reads to pick between the html and text replacement.

dealerweb 04996a3af1 fix: open address links in the built-in composer
Clicking an address in the app's own chrome - the recipient card, the
contact sidebar, the contact details - handed a mailto: URL to the OS
mail handler. In a webmail client that goes nowhere: the browser asks
which application should open the link, and the message is composed
somewhere else, if at all. Only users who registered Bulwark itself as
their system mailto handler got a usable result, and even then via a
detour through the OS into a new tab.

A new MailtoLink component sends the click to the built-in composer
instead. It stays a real anchor with an href, so "Copy email address",
middle click and assistive technology keep working; only the plain
left click is redirected, and only when a listener takes it - otherwise
the browser's own behaviour still applies. Modified clicks are left
alone.

The request reaches the mail page through a window event, the way
`bulwark:rate-limit-blocked` already does, rather than threading a
callback through three component levels and five call sites. It goes to
openMailtoDraft rather than the protocol path: an in-app click carries
its own context - the account being read - so the account picker that an
external mailto: needs would only get in the way here.

Message content is deliberately untouched. Plain text bodies render into
the main document rather than the sandboxed frame and their sanitizer
permits mailto:, so a document-wide interceptor would have swept up
untrusted links too; a component cannot be reached from message HTML at
all.

Linus Rath 1cdbf75270 fix: use full tag path in drag-drop toasts, fresh email in context menu markAsRead
Nested tag toasts from drag-and-drop only showed the leaf name for
non-root tags, contradicting the comment above it and making two
same-named leaves under different parents (e.g. Personal/Receipts vs
Work/Receipts) indistinguishable in the toast.

The context menu's markAsRead handler was the one action left reading
the stale contextMenu.data instead of the live-refreshed
contextMenuEmail introduced alongside it, so it could act on outdated
email state while every sibling handler was already updated.

Aaron Guise aad6bbd028 fix: keep the message/rfc822 attachment visible after inline unwrapping
The "empty outer body + message/rfc822 attachment" unwrap heuristic
(built for Outlook's blank-body forwards) was also matching Forward as
attachment sends, which intentionally use a blank body. Once unwrapped
for inline preview, the .eml attachment itself was filtered out of the
attachment list, so a sent forward-as-attachment message with a large
attached .eml appeared to have no attachments at all.

Aaron Guise 0563e88eb8 fix: hide "Forward as attachment" in overflow menu when blobId missing
The overflow menu ("...") showed "Forward as attachment" whenever the
handler was provided, regardless of whether the open email has a
blobId. If it doesn't, handleForwardAsAttachment immediately no-ops
(buildForwardAsAttachmentPayload returns null), so the item was
clickable but did nothing - inconsistent with the list context menu's
version, which is already disabled in that case
(!onForwardAsAttachment || !email.blobId).

Gate both occurrences (desktop and mobile layouts) on email?.blobId
too, matching the context menu's behavior.

Caught by GitHub Copilot's automated PR review.

Aaron Guise 351f2d4e26 feat: add "Forward as attachment" to the message list context menu
Adds the same "Forward as attachment" action from the message viewer's
overflow menu to the right-click context menu on a message row in the
list, right after "Forward". Reuses the handleForwardAsAttachment
handler and buildForwardAsAttachmentPayload helper introduced earlier
in this PR - no new logic, just threading the prop down EmailList ->
EmailContextMenu the same way onForward already is.

blobId is already present on list-row emails (EMAIL_LIST_PROPERTIES
includes it specifically for the existing drag-out-to-filesystem .eml
export feature), so this works without any additional fetch. The menu
item is disabled if it's ever missing, matching how other actions
degrade when their handler prop isn't supplied.

Reuses the email_viewer.forward_as_attachment translation key already
added (via a second scoped useTranslations("email_viewer") call,
matching this file's existing cross-namespace pattern for
email_viewer.color_tag) rather than adding a duplicate key under
context_menu - avoids touching all 24 locale files again.
2026-07-27 16:37:04 +12:00
Aaron Guise 3ea22161d9 feat: add "Forward as attachment" next to Export as .eml
Adds a "Forward as attachment" action to the message overflow menu
(desktop and mobile), right beside the existing "Export as .eml"
action. Opens a new forward-mode compose window with the original
message attached as a message/rfc822 file instead of quoted inline -
useful for reporting spam/phishing to an upstream gateway that expects
the raw original as an attachment (the primary motivating use case:
gateways like MxGuarddog require complete original headers, including
the full mail path, for scanning), or for preserving a message's exact
formatting/headers when forwarding.

Implementation reuses the composer's existing attachment-carry-forward
mechanism (the `attachments` useState initializer in
email-composer.tsx already carries a forwarded message's own
attachments into the new compose via `replyTo.attachments`) - this
just adds one synthetic entry representing the whole original message,
referenced by its existing blobId. No re-fetch or re-upload needed,
since JMAP blobs are account-scoped rather than per-email. The inline
quote-header step (prepareComposerQuoteHeader) is skipped, so the body
starts blank instead of quoting the original.

The core "build subject + attachment entry" logic is extracted into a
pure, unit-tested helper (lib/forward-as-attachment.ts) rather than
left inline in the already-large page component.

Adds the forward_as_attachment locale key to all 24 locales (English
text as a placeholder pending translation, following the existing
add-a-key convention) to satisfy the translations completeness test.

dealerweb 21ea5009f4 i18n: localize the editor toolbar in all 23 locales
The rich-text editor was the last hardcoded-English surface in the
composer: 21 tooltip titles, the eight table-menu entries, the "Remove
color" entry and the table size picker's "Pick size" label were plain
strings while every other menu in the app is localized.

All of them now come from a new email_composer.toolbar namespace,
translated into all 23 locales using each platform's established
editor terminology (Word/Docs conventions - de "Formatierung löschen",
ar "مسح التنسيق", ja "書式をクリア", ...). The link prompt stays "URL",
which is the same term in every language.

Tooltips and self-sizing dropdowns have no width constraints, so longer
translations are safe everywhere.

dealerweb af2b00dd35 Fix: stop resurrecting deleted rows in the mailbox refresh merge
Fixes #592.

refreshCurrentMailbox merges the refreshed first page with the already
loaded list, appending existing entries beyond a cutoff. That cutoff
was derived from the refreshed list's length - so whenever a folder
shrank, the fresh page was shorter than the stale list and the loop
re-appended the deleted rows from stale local state, despite the
comment right above promising the opposite.

The visible result is the reported bug: after sending a draft, the
Drafts view keeps showing a ghost row for the already-destroyed draft.
The send actually succeeded - resending the ghost delivers the mail
again, which we reproduced with a live JMAP trace: four successful
submissions, an empty server-side Drafts folder, a notFound ghost id,
and five delivered copies. Deriving the cutoff from the page size
fixes the shrink case while preserving the merge's intent for
arrivals and loaded deeper pages; regression tests cover all three
shapes.

Also surface post-send filing failures instead of dropping them, as
flagged in 4dc76bbb's follow-up note: a rejected onSuccessUpdateEmail
patch or old-draft destroy now logs the server's error details and
returns a filingError on SendEmailResult, and the UI shows a warning
toast (all 23 locales) so a stale draft row is never again mistaken
for a failed send. A plugin veto of the send leaves a debug trace.
