* fix(retry): rotate accounts after connection failures
Reliable NotSent HTTP connection failures stay on the same account and
egress until the shared 30-second opening window is exhausted. When an
account's proxy does not respond, each opening waits for the full
15-second connect timeout on the same route, so requests that selected
that account fail after about 30 seconds while other accounts stay idle.
After a connection failure, exclude the account and reselect through
the existing rotation path, consuming routing and rotation budget and
sharing the same opening window. Rotation happens after the first
failure because a second same-account opening on an unresponsive
egress would leave too little of the window to rotate. If no other
account is eligible, restore the exclusion and continue the original
same-account HTTP recovery, so single-account deployments keep their
current behavior. Required accounts and continuation attempts are
unchanged.

Scheduled account warmup sent reasoning.effort=none, but the Codex model

The analytics worker acknowledged projected queue versions inside its
repeatable-read projection transaction. Request updates keep rewriting
pending queue rows through the source triggers, and once such a change
commits after the worker snapshot, the acknowledgement row lock fails with
a serialization error instead of skipping the stale version. Under steady
traffic every cycle rolled back the whole projection batch, the queue kept
growing and the worker stayed in backoff.
Commit the projection and publication first, then acknowledge the exact
versions in a separate read-committed transaction. Row locks there
re-check the latest committed version, so rewritten versions no longer
match and stay queued for replay, while locked rows are still skipped.

Successful responses keep refreshing the quota observation time of the

conclusion changes still invalidate the selection and retry as before.

* fix(providers): let disabled accounts source their own model catalogs
The admin per-account model query (connection test model dropdown)
resolves the account's plan catalog through refresh_account_catalog,
whose candidates come from catalog_candidates_by_scope over the
scheduling account listing. Disabled accounts never appear there, so a
disabled account either failed with NoEligibleCredential (no enabled
account in its plan scope) or silently sourced the catalog from other
accounts instead of itself, and the panel showed no test models.
Keep the pinned account reachable: when the target account is missing
from the eligibility-filtered candidates, append it (for xAI, load its
full credential) and let the preferred-first ordering try it before any
same-scope peers. A fully filtered listing is now treated as empty
candidates instead of an early error so the pinned account can still
answer alone. Client-facing catalog discovery, background sync and
scheduling listings continue to exclude disabled accounts.

Validation: OpenAI, xAI and gateway-protocol tests, additional billing and
compaction regressions, workspace rustfmt, strict workspace Clippy with
all targets and features, and diff whitespace checks passed.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Share container verification between CI and release image jobs. Validate both native release architectures and publish manifests from the verified digests, eliminating the duplicate release source build.
Persist BuildKit Cargo cache mounts across CI runs, refresh release caches per commit, and generate SARIF and vulnerability gate results from one Trivy scan.
Validation: actionlint, composite action ShellCheck, embedded shell syntax, Trivy severity and malformed-report checks, and manifest digest validation passed locally. Full GitHub workflow timing remains to be measured.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Condense the feature overview and client setup guidance, and link to detailed operational documentation for troubleshooting and maintenance.
Validation: checked local Markdown links, anchors, shell syntax and diff whitespace.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Preserve safe failure stages and causes through OpenAI and xAI transport
mapping, Core traces and persisted errors without changing replay safety.
Distinguish missing WebSocket close handshakes from TCP resets and surface
connection facts in the borderless diagnostics panel.
Retain complete UTC date groups instead of limiting segment counts. Default
application and OAuth recovery logs to seven days and full payload logs to
one day. Compress closed segments, drain bounded file queues on shutdown
and report write or maintenance failures through the logging health probe.
Normalize file names and expose an independent OAuth recovery switch that
defaults to off. Remove max_files; leave old file names for manual cleanup.
Validation: workspace backend tests with isolated PostgreSQL, final Host
and application tests (104 passed), OpenAI tests (542 passed), xAI tests
(371 passed), rustfmt and strict Clippy. Frontend lint/build, light/dark
and mobile browser checks, and Compose validation passed. Redis integration
tests were not configured and followed the existing skip convention.

Estimate gpt-image-2 generation and edit costs from the official standard
API rates for text input, image input, cached input and image output.
Emit calculated costs before image delivery while preserving raw responses.
Leave unsupported models, invalid usage and ambiguous mixed cache totals
unpriced. Mark calculated total-only amounts with an approximation sign.
Validation: 1,107 related backend tests, workspace rustfmt and strict
OpenAI/gateway-api Clippy. Replaying the previously verified live usage
of 18 text input and 229 image output tokens yields exactly USD 0.00696.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Persist models declared by standalone image and search requests without
routing them through the text model catalog. Extract image token usage
before delivering the unchanged JSON response, preserving unknown counts
and upstream totals without double-counting image token details.
Validation: 1,474 related backend tests, workspace rustfmt and strict
Clippy passed. One authorized live gpt-image-2 generation reported 18 input,
229 output and 247 total tokens, matching the canonical usage exactly.
Search responses inspected in official source and production logs did not
report usage, so their token counts remain unknown.

Restore connection.rs for production and integration tests by folding the
heartbeat tests into the existing connection test module. Keep all heartbeat
coverage while satisfying the workspace layout rules without a subdirectory.
Rename provider_endpoint.rs to endpoint.rs in production and tests. Update
module declarations, imports and frozen file manifests to match.
Validation: gateway application tests (36 passed), all gateway-api tests
(263 passed), workspace rustfmt, and strict gateway-api Clippy with all
targets and features.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Move production and test connection modules to connection/mod.rs so the
heartbeat submodule follows the workspace directory module convention.
Keep the production and integration test layouts mirrored, and update the
frozen file manifests to include the heartbeat regression tests.
Validation: gateway application tests (36 passed), all gateway-api tests
(263 passed), workspace rustfmt, and strict gateway-api Clippy with all
targets and features.

Send a downstream Ping every 25 seconds while responses are pending or the
connection is idle. Match the official Codex client's Pong handling without
adding a Pong deadline or extending business request timeouts. Skip missed
ticks and keep heartbeat writes bounded and cancellable.
Record Ping/Pong counts and read/write idle durations in disconnect logs.
Serialize correlation IDs as borrowed strings so gateway-api checks do not
require the serde/rc feature.
Cover silent active responses, delayed ticks, missing Pongs, blocked writes
and lifecycle cancellation. Adapt connection expiry coverage for heartbeats.
Validation: gateway-api WebSocket tests (38 passed), workspace rustfmt,
and strict gateway-api Clippy with all targets and features, without serde/rc.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Restore opening response metadata before returning a completed WebSocket to
its pool. Prevent per-response headers, model names and ETags from leaking
into subsequent exchanges and growing downstream response headers.
Match the official Codex response-scoped metadata handling while preserving
opening headers, legitimate multi-value headers and turn-state updates.
Cover 40 consecutive exchanges on one socket with a regression test that
fails on the second exchange before the fix.
Validation: provider-openai transport tests (292 passed), workspace rustfmt,
and strict provider-openai Clippy with all targets and features.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Keep non-persistent downstream WebSocket requests on pooled upstream sockets,
even when opening exceeds the fast-path budget or HTTP fallback was selected.
This preserves the response state needed by subsequent previous_response_id
requests.
Select troubleshooting records by non-cancellation error_kind instead of the
request outcome. Share the predicate between the list and count queries, and
remove missing-error fallbacks so incomplete streaming errors remain visible.
Validation: provider-openai tests (532 passed), PostgreSQL observability tests
(19 passed), workspace rustfmt, and strict workspace Clippy with all targets
and features.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Keep OpenAI quota windows eligible for scheduling until their reset time,
independently of the projection cache TTL. Expire undated observations and
reset windows separately, and clear old signals when a fresh observation
contains no active window.
Record bounded candidate diagnostics with quota, concurrency, smart scores
and affinity results. Cover idle 74%/96% accounts with one concurrent title
request, independent window expiry, cache replacement and trace retention.
Validation: workspace tests (1852 passed), rustfmt, and strict workspace
Clippy with all targets and features. PostgreSQL/Redis integration services
were not configured.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Use the shared scrollbar for request diagnostics, improve timeline spacing
and disclosure styling, and show export loading feedback with duplicate
click protection and a minimum visible duration.
Hide reset times in metric account usage windows while retaining them in
the detail variant.
Validation: frontend typecheck and build, targeted ESLint for both files,
and browser checks for diagnostic scrolling, expansion, mobile layout,
loading feedback, and exported content.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Score load, remaining quota and first-output latency on fixed scales so
small differences do not monopolize unbound requests. Rotate accounts
within a narrow score tolerance in stable ID order using the existing
cursor, preserving session affinity and availability checks.
Cover small signal differences, changing score order, material advantages
and quota invalidation after credential rotation.
Validation: workspace tests (1844 passed, none ignored), rustfmt, and strict
workspace Clippy with all targets and features.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Prefer client-scoped session bindings over ordinary account weights while
keeping existing availability checks and failover behavior. Let child
threads inherit the root account on first selection and update only their
own binding when they migrate.
Share session and thread identity extraction across Responses, Search and
image endpoints. Renew existing Redis bindings for 24 hours and preserve
account-bound state isolation without adding a table or scheduler.
Validation: workspace tests (1838 passed, none ignored), rustfmt, and strict
workspace Clippy with all targets and features.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Download Compose and configuration files directly for installation, and
wait for healthy services before the first health check. Align deployment
paths and image upgrade instructions with the installation directory,
while documenting source checkout requirements for development and builds.
Validation: checked 16 shell examples and 17 local documentation links;
downloaded the deployment files into a temporary directory and verified
Compose configuration and a startup dry run without a source checkout.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Upgrade installed Debian packages before adding runtime dependencies so
digest-pinned base images receive available fixes, including the PCRE2
security update.
Validation: rebuilt the amd64 runtime-base image without cache; Trivy
reported zero fixable OS vulnerabilities across all severities; curl,
pg_dump, and pg_restore started successfully as the cpr user.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Persist per-window recovery baselines separately from current usage. Identify windows by upstream limit ID and actual duration, using protocol slots to distinguish equal or unspecified durations. Apply the same reset advancement and usage-below-10% rule to all periods without requiring allowed=true, retaining partial recovery across refreshes and restarts.
Use the exhausted window for reset tracking, preserve access during failure follow-ups, and return the updated account status after an admin quota refresh. Remove the ignored live Desktop artifact download test.
Validation: workspace tests (1828 passed), final OpenAI suite (516 passed, none ignored), fmt, clippy, and build. Real-account checks cover quota refresh and monthly recovery; seven controlled replay scenarios cover independent and partial recovery through the backend and PostgreSQL.
Consolidate retry decisions in the provider and share the failure budget with session HTTP fallback. Preserve WebSocket priority and the 800ms cold connection budget.
Remove transport-local retries, fresh recovery probes, and metadata-based replay exceptions; use a 300s stream idle timeout.
Validation: backend tests (1816 passed, 1 ignored), fmt, clippy, and real Codex CLI 10-turn WebSocket continuation run.
Remove unused event occurrence counts across storage, API and UI; count event
rows directly and keep provider metadata focused on facts absent from typed
observations. Preserve actual upstream-reported model and handshake status.
Narrow four live-reference indexes, drop eight low-value indexes, enforce
complete grouped facts and normalize administrator audit identities. Make
backup storage changes invalidate verification and pause schedules atomically,
while unchanged saves preserve state and revision.
Validation: 1,816 backend tests passed with isolated PostgreSQL and Redis,
including the official artifact download test. Strict Clippy, rustfmt, migration
freeze checks, frontend lint/typecheck/build and actionlint passed. Synthetic
10,000-row query plans verified live-reference and historical pagination indexes.

Define completed usage from delivery plus model, image, token, or cost evidence so standalone search remains operationally visible without appearing in usage records.
Exclude model-less provider endpoints from model diagnostics and keep attempt cost coverage on the shared usage fact.
Validation: 169 gateway-store tests passed against PostgreSQL; Clippy and rustfmt passed.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Send SSE keepalive comments after 15 seconds without output while preserving
the pending execution future. Disable response buffering and transformation
so long compaction requests can maintain the downstream connection.
Cover four minutes of upstream silence, cancellation, first-event commitment,
and conflicting upstream headers. Document transport errors and the separate
Codex event idle timeout.
Validation: 259 gateway-api tests and Clippy passed with serde/rc enabled;
cargo fmt and git diff --check passed.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Refocus the README on installation, client setup and common questions. Consolidate native image generation, auth.json compatibility and obsolete Codex settings in the existing deployment guide.
Correct account import formats, API references, backup recovery and password rotation guidance. Synchronize architecture, theme, migration and repository skill documentation without adding new documents or changing temporary investigation notes.
Validated 53 local links, 22 shell examples, generated configuration parity and TOML syntax, Compose configuration, skill metadata and whitespace checks.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Derive a dedicated popover header component token so light themes keep clear separation from striped table rows while dark themes retain the softer tertiary fill.
Apply the token consistently to structured popover headers and the health timeline arrow, and expose it through the theme editor.
Validated across all preset light and dark palettes, token overrides, frontend lint, typecheck and production build.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Promote structured popover headers from the tertiary fill to the secondary fill so they remain visually distinct from striped and hovered table rows in both light and dark themes.
Keep the health timeline arrow matched to its header surface when the popover placement flips.
Validated across all preset light and dark palettes, frontend lint, typecheck and production build.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Queue incoming response.create frames until the active response finishes instead of closing the connection, aligning execution with the Codex client serial request flow.
Separate pump exit notifications from the bounded business queue so disconnects and shutdown remain prompt. Preserve expiry handling with a full queue, retain protocol validation, and document the serial execution contract.
Validated with 253 API tests, 12 architecture tests, strict workspace Clippy and Rust formatting.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Rename primary, semantic and preset background roles to container and their paired foreground roles to on-container across derivation, CSS variables, utilities, consumers and documentation.
Preserve existing palette values and contrast relationships while making text on neutral surfaces distinct from content inside semantic containers.
Validated with token equivalence across presets and custom seeds, frontend typecheck, lint and production build.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Separate semantic text on neutral surfaces from high-contrast text on tinted backgrounds, derive each role against its actual surfaces, and migrate badges and alerts to explicit on-background tokens.
Restore vivid usage-table accents and align input hover, active, and error outlines across light and dark themes.
Validated with semantic contrast checks across presets and custom seeds, frontend typecheck, lint and production build.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Move Dashboard quota projection to the backend, share pagination request state, and fix independent usage loads while keeping trend switches free of loading overlays.
Stream billing facts within the query budget, share pending authorization and usage validation, and separate Core value ownership and response observations. Remove the unused theme helper and strengthen dependency checks.
Validated with workspace integration tests against isolated PostgreSQL and Redis, strict Clippy, Rust formatting, and frontend typecheck, lint and build.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Add standard, Flex, Fast, long-context and cache-write rates, and classify Astra as a reasoning model for preview web-search pricing. Cover tier aliases, the context threshold and cost components with backend regression tests.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Guard text and primary button contrast across surfaces and interaction states, derive dark semantic text from its seed, and reuse focus tokens. Document the palette and component rules.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Capture complete OpenAI Responses headers and payloads in a dedicated rotated log, keep the target out of normal sinks, and default the sensitive switch to off.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Treat metadata turn state as a same-request checkpoint, retry on the original account over WebSocket, and keep ambiguous requests without a checkpoint fail-closed.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Expose aggregate reasoning tokens on account responses and use them in the token structure panel while retaining cache-write fields for API compatibility.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Bridge both metadata event names, project sticky state per response.create, and return captured state on pre-terminal failures without replaying ambiguous requests.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Keep inline switch text legible in the off state and omit WebSocket settings from generated Codex and CCSwitch configuration unless explicitly enabled.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Link successful same-session HTTP fallbacks to pending WebSocket failures, keep recovered records visible in Ops diagnostics, and label their recovery state.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Include the downstream connection identity in pooled upstream WebSocket keys so concurrent clients cannot contend for connection-local response state.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Treat the 800 ms fast-path budget as a routing decision instead of a provider error, while preserving background preconnect for the next request.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Resolve sk_ searches through client key references while only sending the visible key prefix from the frontend, and clarify the request detail search hint.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Generate the displayed Codex files and CCSwitch import payload from one source, carry the full settings through deep links, and clarify the quota percentage label.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Remove unsupported review and model extension routes, preserve review semantics on standard Responses requests, and refine usage observability for review and empty performance data.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Add /v1/alpha/search as a transparent raw JSON endpoint, route requests through the OpenAI credential pipeline, and preserve account-scoped turn metadata and upstream response headers.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Select quota summaries by the most recently used model, streamline dashboard account identities, and align diagnostic client metadata with successful records.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Limit session-sticky HTTP fallback to new chains, keep continuation requests on their safe transport, and classify rebuild-required failures separately from account health.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Add configurable minimum versions for Codex Desktop and CLI, return 426 for unsupported recognized clients, and provide install and Windows offline download guidance.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Log original OpenAI error payloads and WebSocket close reasons with request, account, attempt, transport, and connection correlation. Project PostgreSQL inet values as bare client addresses in observability queries.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Expose request, client, model, transport, and account facts in operations errors and surface them in the error table and detail view.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Pin the selected account and retry over HTTP/SSE when a new-chain WebSocket fails before downstream delivery.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Skip standalone CI for version-only release commits so they do not cancel the preceding source run. Reuse the container workflow in Release and require it before publishing.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Move downstream socket ownership into a bounded pump, preserve official Codex control-frame behavior, and bound downstream writes.
Enforce the official connection lifetime after active terminal delivery, add structured transport diagnostics, and mirror connection/protocol coverage under the test tree without adding stream_id.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Reuse the direct runtime-settings read for the single-row control-plane path, collapse repeated provider snapshot lookups in request lifecycle writes, and remove the unused credential revision vector surface.
No schema migration is added because no candidate crossed the EXPLAIN and write-amplification gate.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Separate Usage list and detail reads, use keyset paging with first-page totals, push Ops predicates into source branches, and merge repeated account and diagnostics aggregates. Apply the shared per-query PostgreSQL budget, coalesce identical Dashboard windows, and preserve the existing IP, User-Agent, and latency detail surface.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Move account, account-group, and client-key filtering, stable ordering, counts, and current-page membership reads into PostgreSQL. Keep Redis cooldown and lease enrichment in the Admin application boundary, share stable page state in the UI, and supervise client-key last-used flushing through the host worker lifecycle.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Move refresh candidate filtering, ordering, exclusions, and limits into one PostgreSQL query for OpenAI and xAI. Keep refresh policy in each provider and preserve the final credential revision fence without adding a scheduling cache or catalog table.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Materialize only the narrow request facts shared by the request and ops aggregates, then compute each aggregate once. This removes repeated scans of the wide model_requests CTE while preserving usage-fact cost coverage.
Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com>
Count provider request, attempt, and failure facts across the full execution audit while restricting token totals to completed usage facts. Add a PostgreSQL regression assertion for the mixed success/failure boundary.

In repositories indexed by CodeGraph (a `.codegraph/` directory exists at the repo root), reach for it BEFORE grep/find or reading files when you need to understand or locate code:
- **Index freshness**: Run `codegraph sync` from the repository root before the first code query in a task. After pulling updates, switching branches, or changing code, run it again before the next query so symbols and call paths match the working tree. If synchronization fails, report the failure and verify against current source rather than treating the index as current.
- **MCP tools** (when available): `codegraph_explore` answers most code questions in one call — the relevant symbols' verbatim source plus the call paths between them. `codegraph_node` returns one symbol's source + callers, or reads a whole file with line numbers. If the tools are listed but deferred, load them by name via tool search.
- **Shell** (always works): `codegraph explore "<symbol names or question>"` and `codegraph node <symbol-or-file>` print the same output.
If there is no `.codegraph/` directory, skip CodeGraph entirely — indexing is the user's decision.
